Cliphanger Keeps Mobile Devices Safe

Updated on June 17, 2008

I’ve recently purchased a cellular phone with a touchscreen, and it never seems right to just shove it in my pocket. I always get the feeling like I’m going to crack the screen when I sit down.

I never had a problem with these feelings when I had my cheap old clamshell, but certain mobile phones, digital cameras, and MP3 Players are getting more advanced, and some are not as durable as they should be.

Fortunately, the Cliphanger is here to keep our mobile devices easily portable and safe from harm at the same time. All a user needs to do is stick it on and the mobile device can clip onto whatever it needs to go, such as a belt loop or purse strap.

On the back of the Cliphanger logo is some strong adhesive that affixes to the mobile device. You’ll need a little rubbing alcohol to make it stay, and there is now a clip that can hang anywhere. The paperclip-shaped area separates in order to fit over any closed loop. This clip area has enough wide space to allow room for a camera lens so your mobile device can take pictures without anything being obstructed by the clip.

The Cliphanger also comes with an autohook, and it also has some strong adhesive. The autohook can be placed on a automobile dashboard, which allows the user to hang their phone up as they drive. This makes it convenient to take a phone call while on the road.

I had a chance to talk to a representative from Cliphanger, and I was quite impressed with the company’s success story. Apparently, the product did not do so well when it was originally ran in Wal-Mart and Best Buy, but it was a mega-hit when it went on the road with gigantic flea market sales. This grassroots marketing campaign led to over three million in individual unit sales.

Apparently, women really love this product, and once men try it, they totally love it as well. It is nice to know that something like this can really catch on.

The Cliphanger is available from the official site for about $12.95. The price goes down with the more you buy, as the Cliphanger 3 pack is for $29.95, and the 6 Pack is for $54.95. It is available in several colors, including black, smoke gray, clear, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, teal, and green.
