Douglas MacArthur "We're Out Of Time"

“Military alliances, balances of power, leagues of nations, all in turn failed, leaving the only path to be the way of the crucible of war. The utter destructiveness of war now blocks out this alternative. We have had our last chance. If we will not devise some greater and more equitable system, our Armageddon will be at our door. The problem basically is theological and involves a spiritual recrudescence and improvement of human character that will synchronize with our almost matchless advances in science, art, literature and all material and cultural developments of the past two thousand years. It must be of the spirit if we are to save the flesh.”

God's time piece is ticking. The inevitability of Armagedon is ireversible. We as followers of Christ must warn as many as possible of the "dooms day prophecy". Now is the time to be vigorous in our efforts to spread the "Good News" of the promise of eternal life in Jesus Christ. Thank you for the hub.

Time is not on our side. Thanks guys.

I love MacArthur - he was a visionary. I have to remind myself that when he said this, there had only been two atomic bombs ever built and used. One only wonders what he would have to say today. I think many Americans do not understand the real world problems that face us in the right here and right now. Simply because nothing has happened since 1945 - it is easy to believe that it won't. Even if we understand that it can abstractly, it is hard to believe it when we live in such wealth and prosperity.

To me - that makes vigilance ever more needful. I am saddened that the Liberal Conservative split has brought our security into it's argument as a political tool to be manipulated for gain. It would seem to me the threats are so real, so present and so constant - that nothing else would matter.
