Inspector Gadget Theme Intro

Inspector Gadget Takes Me Back

Inspector Gadget was one of my son's favorite cartoons when he was a toddler. More often than not, he would watch Inspector Gadget in the evenings and keep me company while I made supper. I still enjoy hearing the Inspector Gadget theme song. I can almost see my son come bounding into the family room, eager to watch as Inspector Gadget is saved again by Penny and Brain.

Inspector Gadget Background

Inspector Gadget is a cartoon about a clumsy, incompetent detective named Inspector Gadget. He was called Inspector Gadget because he had lots of cool gadgets built into his body. Each episode involves Inspector Gadget saving the world from the evil Dr. Claw. Inspector Gadget usually makes a mess out of things. His niece, Penny, and her dog Brain always come to the rescue and solve the case. But Inspector Gadget remains clueless and thinks he's the hero of the day.

The Inspector Gadget theme song is one of the best ever. And you may recognize the voice of Inspector Gadget. It is the voice of Don Adams, star of the 60s television show, "Get Smart".

But the coolest thing about Inspector Gadget is his gadgets themselves. To activate his many gadgets, Inspector Gadget gives the command "Go, Go Gadget --" and then names the gadget he wishes to use.

The first episode of Inspector Gadget explains how he came have built-in gadgets. It seems that Inspector Gadget had a messy encounter with a garbage disposal. He was put back together with leftover airplane parts.

Some of Inspector Gadget's Coolest Gadgets

The gadget that Inspector Gadget probably uses most often is his springs that are also legs. The springs pop out of his hat or shoes. With them, he can bounce very high and get out of sticky situations. But usually not without falling down.

Inspector Gadget also has extra gadget arms. These arms are similar to Stretch Armstrong. They can stretch for what seems like an endless length. But not just his arms, but also his legs and neck can stretch.

Go-Go Gadget skates are also used often by Inspector Gadget. They are included in the soles of his shoes. Since Inspector Gadget is so clumsy, often times they cause him problems.

Inspector Gadget uses his gadget hands when he needs to hold lots of things at the same time. They will appear out of his hat that he always wears.

Inspector Gadget's hands also include a cool gadget phone. This phone only communicates with Gadget's boss, Chief Quimby. Inspector Gadget listens on his nifty gadget phone with his thumb and talks into his little finger.

Inspector Gadget's hands are really complicated pieces of equipment. In addition to the above, his gadget hands have a cool gadget on each finger. Some of the cooler ones are a laser, water pistol, master key, a whistle, and a flashlight.

Inspector Gadget also has cool gadget ears. They pop out of his head and let him be able to have superpower hearing whenever he commands Go, Go Gadget Ears!

Gadget Copter is just what it says. Inspector Gadget has a cool set of helicopter blades that come out of his and allows him to fly away from danger.

The Go, Go Gadget siren pops out of his hat whenever needed. It has a handy police light as well.
