Tools & Materials Needed:

Nipper

Merthiolate

Pusher

Cotton Alcohol

Nail Cutter

Acetone

Hand & Body Lotion

Nail Brush Colorless / Colored Polish

Face Towel

Nail File

Orange Wood Stick

Cuticle Remover

Cosmetology- is the science of caring & beautifying the skin, the eyes, nails and lips with the use of cosmetics.

Manicure - the treatment of the hands & fingernails.

Pedicuring – the process of caring & beautifying the foot & toenails.

Operating Steps:

  1. Remove the old nail polish starting with the hand.
  2. Cut & shape the nails with the use of nail cutter.
  3. File the nails using the emery board. Working from the little finger toward the thumb.
  4. Soften the cuticle & loosen then by applying cuticle remover.
  5. Push & trim the cuticle & loosen then by applying cuticle remover.
  6. Brush nails using nail brush in downward movement.
  7. Apply cuticle oil or hand lotion then massage.
  8. Apply merthiolate surrounding the nails.
  9. Apply nail polish, first the base coat, then colored polish, then the top coat.
  10. Remove the excess polish around nails, repeat the same procedure on the right hand.

Individual Shapes of nails:

  1. Oval
  2. Round
  3. Square
  4. Pointed
