Seattle Protests: Interesting Pictures

No matter what side of an issue you stand on, it is still a right to protest, march, and demonstrate in the United States.

I think protests and marches are interesting: they bring together a lot of different people, united in once cause or belief. While there are those who are attending only to cause trouble, many people who protest do want to voice their beliefs in a peaceful way.

Here are a few pictures I've taken of protests in Seattle.

This is one of my favorites. The police were guarding the freeway--not long before, a group of anarchists had closed down a busy highway. This is downtown Seattle. The "bodies" on the ground are high school students. They wanted to make a point that collateral damage often means dead bodies.I really like this image: American flag and the peace sign. However, these two youths are anarchists, making this symbol a bit ironic.A bit of performance art at the march? Amusing, yes. But, I'm not sure if they promote "Peace" much.Another march shot from downtown Seattle. I was trying to capture how long the trail of marchers was, but didn't quite capture it.The different masks people wear! It's interesting to see how people express their ideas.

Interesting! The protests here are always interesting, drawing hippies, anarchists and skinheads - the skinhead and anarchists always end up fighting, for some reason. Can't we all just get along??

I've been using Squidoo for a little while. I write books which are love sotires with disabled characters, so what I decided to do with Squidoo is make top ten lists of movies with disabled characters. I have them divided up by gender and type of disability. They are moderately popular and I have widgets advertising my books on the sides!
