South Beach Diet Phase 1 at Arbys
Arby's has even fewer options than McDonald's or Burger King for those on Phase 1, but the good thing about this fast food franchise is that the market fresh sandwiches are good choices for Phase 2 or 3. For now though, we'll focus on the one choice you can have on Phase 1 at Arby's:
Market Fresh Martha's Vineyard Salad--A bed of mixed greens is topped with diced grilled chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, diced apples, dried cranberries, and grape tomatoes. It is served with raspberry vinaigrette on the side, and being that this is made from fruit you'll want to choose another dressing. You'll also want to take off the apples and cranberries, but add on the toasted almonds that come on the side. The buttermilk ranch and Santa Fe ranch are better choices for dressings, each with 4 grams of carbohydrates per serving.
For beverages, Arby's does not serve bottled water (at least not according to their website), but you can usually get a cup of water in these types of restaurants. Your other choices are Diet Pepsi or coffee.
