Three Great Wills of God
Three Great Wiils of God
"Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." I Thessalonians 5 : 16-18
We are always longing to find God's will for our life. But the truth is we fail to comply with fulfilling first the great wills of God. This is the truth , for it is written. These are God's will for every believer.
(1) Always be joyful.
What is the difference between being joyful and being happy ? One maybe happy but not really joyful. We maybe happy when we have new clothes , passed a major difficult examination , got promoted in work, has able to close sales. But all these things are fleeting things. "Joy" is a fruit of the Holy Spirit therefore it will never exist among unbelievers, but only in Christians filled with the Holy Spirit could have the "joy". "Joy" is a much deeper virtue than happiness. You could deprived of everything such as lovelife, great career, love of family, money and many others, yet you could still be joyful. "Joy" comes from the presence of the Lord in our life. There is "joy" because of our fellowship and imtimacy with God. A person who possessed great things in life maybe happy but not joyful. We are commanded to be joyful always. That is to continually experience the presence of God moment by moment in our life despite the business of our schedule. For this is God's will for us. We have to fight for the time we spend in fellowshipping with God.
(2) Keep on praying or pray without ceasing
We should never cease from praying. Our time for prayer is something we should fight for. Praying is as important as breathing. Without praying we will shrink spiritually, we will loose power for living, we will loose our vigor as a Christian. Prayer is the secret to a powerful and victorious Christian living. Prayer is a gift of God to Christians. It is a privilege we enjoy in being a Christian, it is just right to maximize the use of this privilege.
(3) Always be thankful
No matter whatever circumstances befall us whether we have plenty or we have only little, we should always be thankful to God. For this is God's will. We should always find reasons to thank God for each day. We should thank God not only for the blessings, but we should also thank God for all our frustrations and broken hearts for they made us a better person.. We should always be thankful to God at the end of a day for keeping us away from harm and danger for so many harm could befall a person any time for we are living in perilous times.
