When you are shopping for basketball trophies, you are probably looking for the perfect championship basketball trophy for the winning team in your tournament. However, it is important for you to realize that basketball trophys are not just for the winning basketball teams at your tournaments.

Yes, the winning team should get a great basketball trophy, but there are many other uses for these awards.

In many tournaments, awards are given to the most valuable player and the players who make the All-Star team. Now, these trophies are not fancy like an NBA trophy or an NCAA basketball trophy, but they do show the player that his or her hard work is rewarded. Often these individual trophies are a smaller version of the tournament ones. Sometimes these players are given medals instead of trophies.

There are also other awards you can give to the basketball teams that do NOT win your tournaments. Consider giving an award to the second and third place basketball teams.

You may also want to give something to the team that showed the best sportsmanship. This is especially important if you are hosting a tournament for younger basketball teams, like peewee or junior league teams.

Schools place value on sportsmanship almost as much as they value championship teams. In this way, you can reward those basketball teams that may not be the best teams at the tournament, but they display the best attitude on the court.

Many tournament hosts make the sportsmanship award almost as large as the championship award, thus showing how much they value good sportsmanship in their participating basketball teams.

Another consideration you will want to make when deciding which trophies to purchase is whether or not you want to give an individual award to the players on the winning basketball teams. Many tournaments provide not only a team sports trophy to the winning teams, but also smaller individual trophies to the players on that team. In this way, the players can remember their victory even after they are no longer in school.

There is one more reason you may want to give a basketball trophy. Do you host or participate in a fantasy basketball league? If so, consider pooling your resources to purchase a fantasy basketball trophy to award the winning player. After all, one might as well be rewarded for all of the effort one puts into the game, right?

The winner of that trophy will enjoy bragging rights for a long time.

Once you have decided how many trophies you need and what you are going to use them for, you will have to decide on a design for your trophies. Trophies, plaques, and other awards come in a wide range of styles.

The most common types of basketball trophies are those with a pedestal supporting a sculpted basketball player. The player can be either female or male, depending on the basketball teams at the tournament.

While these are the traditional trophies used in high school and college sporting events, there are other options out there. You could instead choose a trophy that supports a sculpted basketball on the top of the pedestal instead of a player.

Trophies that are for individual players can have a plaque supported by a base rather than a pedestal and a topper. You will need to choose the design based on the theme and budget of your tournament.

Finally, make sure that you choose quality basketball trophies and awards for your tournament. Whether you choose to award just the winners or several basketball teams at your tournament, the quality of the rewards you purchase will show much about your organization.

Remember, basketball awards and other sports awards will be on display for a long time, so you want to make sure they continue making a good impression on those who view them in the future.

For the love of the game...
