Yes, I agree a great hub. Something I've been thinking of doing, or related to it is related to myspace and facebook.
Like, are people there looking for serious relationships, or just looking for flings?
Well, from my experience, some are looking for flings, cybersex and financial scams. I had many try for all three things here. I have had men ask to meet me, sending naked pictures of themselves and asking me what am I wearing. I also, had a man requesting to help him and family out, could he send me some cosmetics to sell and make money for him.
Yes, these types of things give bad names. Although, I am aware of being going on eharmony and such places and getting married. One woman, met 2 husbands on there. Now, is that good or bad? Well, the first husband there were issues due to fertility, so far, in second relationship things going good.
So internet dating is getting a bad name as some people are using it as a way or a tool to meet for sexual activity, a way to escape, but others are taking things more serious. Some will say that want to be serious, but are truly only after sex. They will try by being basic, the getting to know you questions, then it starts with what you look like, etc..
I wouldn't suggest chatting with anyone. Although, I never started the chats, this is how a majority of them started. I never had officially dated anyone from these sites, but again, myspace, facebook and a couple others, I had men wanting to meet me in person because they were attracted to my picture.
