RV Camping and Tent Camping are definitely very different, and, in fact, most tent campers would probably think that RVers are not camping at all.
It's all a matter of perspective. RVers parked in a private campground and hooked up to water, electric, cable tv and sewer are pretty far removed from that tent in the woods. But some RVers boondock in remote natural areas that allows them to be close to nature while still having some of the comforts of home like a real bed, refrigerator and a place to get in out of the weather. Most tent campers wouldn't want to camp on the rocky deserts of Arizona with the snakes and other critters, but RVers who boondock in Arizona or Utah can enjoy these natural areas while having a safe, comfortable place to sleep. It's not the kind of roughing it that tenters experience, but it's a far cry from vacationing at an RV resort or hotel.
