This X-mas ......enjoy carrot pudding
Carrot pudding ....'Gajar ki Halwa'
This Christmas try out something new for the family party.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 6 minutes
Ingredients: 2cups grated carrots; ¼ cup milk powder;5 tablespoons sugar; ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder; 1 tablespoon melted white butter.
For the garnish:
1tablespoon sliced pistachios , cashew nuts and some raisins
1.In a microwave safe bowl, combine the butter and grated carrots, cover with a lid and microwave on high for 4 minutes. 2.Add the milk-powder, sugar ,cardamom-powder and mix well. Now cover with a lid and microwave on high for 2minutes. 3. serve hot, garnished with the sliced nuts and rasins.
This preparation can be directly done on flame in that case first sauté the carrots in butter then boil the carrots in ½ litter milk. Keep on medium flame and in between keep stirring so that it does not get burnt. When the whole thing is practically dried up add the sugar and constantly keep stirring. After switching off the flame put the pudding in a serving bowl and garnish.
NB: Those , who do not take sugar for health reasons, can use 'Sugarfree' or such additives.
