Cash Back Shopping--What is It?

Cash Back Shopping sites are sites that will allow you to earn cash back for shopping at your favorite online retailers so long as you first sign into their site and click the link to whichever site you plan to shop at. These are not just random, shady websites looking for a new start, but rather reputable, online merchants such as Amazon, Macy's, Orbitz, Walmart, Petco, Expedia, Hotels.com, Travelocity, Groupon, J. Crew, Nordstrom, HSN, Banana Republic, Gap, Sears, J.C. Penney, and more!

1. Ebates

Ebates is a popular cash back site that will give you cash back for shopping at numerous popular retailers including Amazon, Orbitz, Macy's, Walmart, Drugstore.com, and more! When you sign-up for Ebates you automatically earn a $10 gift card to a retailer of your choosing. Thereafter, shop at your favorite retailers by clicking the links to their sites on the Ebates page (after signing in of course). You will earn the advertised cash back percentage of anything you purchase. Your earnings will accumulate and then you will be paid quarterly (Feb 15, May 15, Aug 15, and Nov 15) via either check or Paypal (your choice) provided you have accumulated at least $5.01 in cash back earnings.

In addition to earning cash back, you can make money referring new members to Ebates. When a friend signs up for Ebates using your referral link and within one year makes purchases through Ebates of at least $25, you will earn $5.

Additionally, Ebates often runs promotions where you can earn even more for signing up friends. A current promotion is that if you refer 2 friends and they each make purchases of $25 during the promotional period (Oct 1 - Dec 31) you will earn $50!

If you're not already a member of Ebates, please consider signing up with my referral link by copying and pasting the following link:

2. Fat Wallet

Fat Wallet is a great cash back shopping site that offers cash back at hundreds of popular online retailers. You simply log in to Fat Wallet, click on the link to the site you want to shop at, and you will earn cash back. (Hint: Make sure that your pop-ups are not disabled and that you see the Fat Wallet pop-up tracking your cash back.) In addition to earning cash back with Fat Wallet, Fat Wallet is a great source for coupons, sales, deals, and info on ways to save money online. Fat Wallet's forums are filled with tips and tricks for the best savings.

When you make a cash back purchase through Fat Wallet, it will fairly quickly be reflected in your pending earnings on the site. The cash back will be converted from "pending" to "available cash back" once Fat Wallet has received payment from the merchant. Once you have an available cash balance of at least $10, you can request payment and will be paid either via check or Paypal (the method of your choice).

Fat Wallet will also pay you to refer new members to Fat Wallet. Fat Wallet will pay you $5 for each member you refer once they make a purchase through a Fat Wallet cash back merchant of at least $25.
