Applying the Law of Attraction

Would you like to acquire all the good things in life?

Are you familiar of the book/audio/video called The Secret? I find it believable and very plausible. Some may find the thought of this law simplistic to the point of being absurd. That is their choice; their right to believe or otherwise. However, there are lots to learn and discover about life itself when you read or hear this book. I would say that the book is a very interesting material, at the least.

My Interpretation of the Law of Attraction

The law of attraction is said to be a universal law, similar to that of the law of gravity and the law of inertia, the law of attraction holds true to all at all times. The concept of this law lies in the belief that like attracts like. Positive thoughts attract positive things. In the same manner, negativity attracts negative things.

You must have heard of the golden rule, "Do unto others what you want others to do unto you." or is it "Do not do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you"? Anyway, you got the idea right? It is just like the concept of karma. Like attracts like. If you do good things, good things will come to you. If you not do good things; well, you know what you'll get.

The law also implies that all things came from thought. The clothes you are wearing, the laptop you are using, the food you're eating, the money in your pocket (or none thereof) - all of these things are present in your life because you thought of it. You "will" them to come to you that you have them in your possession. The creation of those possession may be an idea of some of guy; but the fact that you have them right now is simply because of you.

Coincidence? Perhaps. It's up to you to believe it or otherwise.

Now, please. I don't want to freak you out. I am simply sharing what I think of the law of attraction. Let me remind you that being a universal law (according to believers and its proponents), the law holds true whether you believe in it or not. So it's safe for you to read on.

And here comes the juicy part of the law.

Because all things came from a thought and like attracts like, the law also implies that whatever you think and focus on; you will receive. The universe will bring that thing to you.

How amazing is that? Just think of any particular thing (e.g. car, job, money, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc., etc., etc.) that you want in life and you will receive it!

Before you get too skeptical, I would like to remind you of a verse from the Bible. Do you recall this verse - "Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened."? Sounds to me that it is very similar to the concept of the law of attraction.

Put the Law of Attraction to the test

As in all things, take baby steps. Before you go thinking and calling to the universe a Maserati, I suggest you read on. There is more to it than simply asking. See, you also have to believe in your heart and soul that you are receiving that Maserati. You have to believe that you are deserving of that thing you are asking for. You have to believe that you are already in possession of that thing you want.

If your mind cannot grasp the idea of calling or attracting a Maserati for now, that "doubt" in your head will prevent you from getting that car. Unless you're mind is ready to receive it, that thing will be far from your grasp. (At least, that's what the law implies.)

To test the law of attraction, you may want to start with something small. Think of a friend. Someone you haven't talked to or seen in a while. Try to attract that friend. Who knows, you'd be able to attract a call or you'll see him/her for lunch. You don't know when and where you will attract this friend. But if you truly believe that you'll hear from him/her, you will. If not according to the law of attraction; it'll happen because that is what the Bible teaches us.
