Quick Tip For The Mom On A Budget

As a single mom for two children under 6 years old, I have to live life on a budget. Budgets are not always fun. They can inhibit you from being a little spontaneous and even keep for from grabbing fun things no matter how cheap it may be. I have the best tip for moms or dads on a budget.

If your children are like mine, they love a snack during a car ride, especially after school. My children's favorite snacks include small fries, cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, sliced apples...Ya know all the stuff you can get at your local fast food chain. Even though these little treats are only $1, it can get a bit costly doing that a couple times a months for two kids.

One day my mom let me in on a little tip she had done for years with my sister and I. If you've frequented any fast food restaurant during the holiday season, you have noticed they will sell a coupon book for only $1. This coupon book is advertised as a great thing to give trick or treaters and even stocking stuffers. For only $1, you will get about 10 coupons each redeemable for one soda, milk shake, small fries, cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, sliced apples individually. Well, take about $5 and grab a book of coupons from your favorite spot. Keep them in the car, your purse, or diaper bag. When your out and about with your little bundles of joy, you can give each one of them one coupon to get their favorite snack. So lets do the math

$1 coupon = $9 of savings

Yes! You can stay on a budget and still be the coolest mom or dad on the block!!!
