Credit Cards And The Dating Scene

Updated on September 7, 2016

When some women read popular magazines, follow certain cosmetic lines, or see commercials on TV, there is a high probability a few will be induced to buy a certain product or outfit that claims will enhance female sensuality . Many declarations are made about how a woman can be more alluring if she purchases a particular outfit, designer handbag, perfume, or a pair of high-end heels. Credit cards can be great tools for buying a few of those luxuries if you spend within your budget. However, avoid charging outfits and accessories just because you want to impress a guy on a first date. Although your girlfriends might gush over that cute purse you bought for the date with the really cute guy who lives next door, most likely he will be oblivious to such details, unless he just happens to be a fashion designer.

Raid your closet to find an outfit for that date, not your credit card line.

Raid Your Closet, Not Your Credit Line

So we all know those women who have a closet full of clothes to wear, but nothing to wear. How can we as ladies have so many clothing options lying in our closets, but then declare we have nothing to wear? An advertisement pops up in a magazine featuring a cute dress that is way out of your budget. Rather than abusing the credit card to purchase that outfit, I suggest raiding your closet instead.

Take all the clothes out of your closet the day before the date and begin to organize. Put coats in one section, dresses in one, skirts in one section, pants in one section, sweaters in one section, and shirts in another section. Line up your shoes in the bottom of your closet so these are visible and easy to find. Get a large empty box and fill it with the items you no longer wear, and these items can be donated to charity. Now that you have organized your closet, you should able to find an outfit that you want to wear for the date. See, you did not even have to use your credit card line to do that!

Use Your Credit Card To Buy Useful Accessories For Your Wardrobe

Since you saved a lot of money by not using your credit card to buy an outfit you might only wear once or twice, now you can feel free to use it to buy a few special accessories to spruce up your attire. However, purchase an accessory like a cute hat or necklace that you will wear more than once, not just a piece that will just go with a date night outfit. This way you can get double the compliments, and double the use out of your new accessory. For instance, if you buy a cute new accent comb for your hair your date might notice you look cute, but he will mostly like not gush about how sparkly your butterfly barrette. Now your girlfriends will probably ask you where you bought it, and compliment how it goes with your cute butterfly top.

Do Not Spend Your Money On Dating Coaches

Please do not use your credit card to hire a dating coach because you can learn about who is good to date, and who is not on your own. It is much more affordable to purchase a dating advice book, but there are only a few I would highly recommend. If you want to learn about how not to date then read the book He's Just Not That Into You, which does not play mind games telling women about how they should behave to nab a guy. This book is common sense advice from a guy who suggests you only pursue those relationships where you know the guy is interested, and if you have to ask, then deep down you know he is not. Seriously, stop wasting money on dating advice when you can figure these things out much more cheaply yourself. You can even use your credit card to order the book He's Just Not That Into You, and I would say that is a great investment.

The best way to date is not to invest time in dating sites, and going on blind dates. Do what you find interesting in life, such as drawing or hiking, and the right person will show up when you are not looking. So do I date vigorously? No, I only date someone if I happen to meet someone I feel compatible with. The right people will show up in your life when you are not looking.

Are you guilty of having used your credit card to try and impress a guy on a date?
