Do You Really Get Paid on Bubblews? My Personal Results

Bubbling away . . . .
Bubbling away . . . . | Source

Heard of Bubblews?

Talk about Bubblews is bubbling around all over HubPages these days, it seems. It seems to be the hot topic on other writing sites, such as Squidoo and Helium, too, from what I've been reading. At any rate, Bubblews is hot right now.

Bubblews is known for promoting short posts (minimum of 400 characters, not words), and writers can reach the $25 quickly the more they write, interact, and make connections with other bubblers.

So what about the rumors of bubblers not getting paid? That's enough to make one wary enough to stay far away from the Bubblews site.

Bubblews Poll

Have you joined Bubblews?

  • Yes, I'm there already!
  • No, I'm not interested.
  • I bubbled for a while but am done with it.
  • On my way! See you there!

Trying Out Bubblews

So I gave Bubblews a try.To me, it was refreshing--bubblicious I would say. Short posts that didn't require research, numerous photos, videos, tables, polls, or quizzes--very nice. I began to feel creative and enjoy writing again. It's a challenge in itself to make a short post that says something, but I enjoy it. Of course, there are the fluffy posts there about what people had for breakfast or a post to say goodnight, but I'm even okay with them if they have a point to them. I may have written some semi-fluff myself.

Bubblews is a different kind of site, and that's okay with me. As long as Bubblews profits, and the bubblers, profit, too--that's a win-win situation.

More Detailed Instructions on How to Navigate Bubblews

My First Payout on Bubblews

After I joined, I bubbled every now and then during the day. I usually wrote a post or two, no more than three per day. I read more than I wrote, but the posts were short, so I would read ten to twenty per day, depending on my schedule. I would also make quite a few connections (like followers on HubPages) every day.

After ten days, I reached the coveted $25.00. I clicked the big green "redeem" button. That was a good feeling, but would I get paid--and in a timely manner? I was anxious, wanting my first payout to go smoothly.

Two days later, on a Sunday--go figure, I received an email that my redemption would be coming in three to four days. Cool! Did it happen? It sure did. My first redemption was smooth as silk as my $25.09 (I guess it bumped up a little before I clicked) appeared in my Paypal account on Wednesday. Woo hoo! I had been redeemed!

My Thoughts on Bubblews

For now, I'm enjoying hanging out some over at Bubblews. I can use the quick money--as long as it doesn't take too much of my time. I have to fight the potential addiction, as I still have to make a living doing other things. Man (or woman!) cannot live by Bubblews alone. It would be fun, though.

Fun. Yeah, I'm having fun, and I'm also making some cool connections with new folks as well as reconnections with fellow hubbers

Since I reached my first $25 just six days ago, I have built back up to nearly $20. I have written only twelve posts as opposed to twenty for my first payout, and I expect I'll hit $25 in the next day or so. My bank seems to be building faster with fewer posts. That's good news to me, as sometimes the pace is too fast for me, but I just do the best I can.

There is of course a lot of fast money with continual writing and interaction, but I think that Bubblews has potential for more long-term benefits. Passive income can be built, too, as connections are built and more bubblers are reading one's work. Plus, I have done a few searches for my posts and was surprised to find certain ones on the second page of Google. One was on the first page when I entered almost the exact title!

The daily creative writing bursts I enjoy, as I do reading other posts and interacting with folks. However, as a freelance writer, I'm definitely interested in the earnings, too. And I think Bubblews has lots of potential if their bubble doesn't burst.

Hi Victoria,

Yes, I have been on the fence about it, but you have had such a great experience and to be able to be more creative without much time and effort, plus making new friends and seeing old friends there, is a blessing too. Hooray!!! as to your redemption : )

Another hubber friend and I are thinking about doing both and just checking it out. After reading billybuc's hub, I was not too sure, but since you have truly been there and experienced it, that makes a big difference.

I will need to watch the video you have included here when I am more alert. Glad you are enjoying yourself over there. I do, as you, have to make a living working 10 hours away from my home during the week, so it sounds perfect for writing creatively and briefly and with the pay out so quick... may be a right fit for me and my time constraints.

Would you recommend using a different name as one's bubbler name or would it be okay to use "Faith Reaper" there too, or my real name? Or just think of another one. I read that one can actually place links to our hubs here over there too, is that true, do you know?

I will share this with my fellow hubber friend, as well as all. I am getting frustrated here, as my score has been around 97 and then dropped to 83, then 85, then down again to 84, when I have been publishing ... almost as if being intentionally voted down, when my hubs of late are sure to be evergreen and with tons of comments galore and views, plus being number one in the topic of my choosing and almost the top place on Google too! So, that makes me wonder, as I see others publishing here and their score goes up two points very fast and with poor quality and not hardly any interaction, but maybe they are getting views, but I am too?

As you say, it is a lot of work with searching for the perfect legal photos and just the right amount of photos, quizzes, polls, maps, and the such. So, it would be refreshing to just write and go! Wonder if there is a place to tell here on HP if someone is intentionally voting down hubs, as I read a forum where there were several on there that said they were "sadistically" voting down hubs! Where would the votes down show up, if you know?

Great hub! Voted up ++++ and sharing

Blessings, Faith Reaper

Faith Reaper--You should check out the long comment I left on billybuc's hub. There is no reason to compare HP to Bubblews. They are different. I will write longer articles on HP and continue to hang out here. But I love the creative spark I feel when I write a short, quality post on Bubblews. There is crap writing there just as there is here, and it can be flagged and voted down. It's a God-send for me since my revenue on HP has crashed by 2/3rds. I'm struggling with freelancing to make enough money, so this helps to diversity my writing and UP my income!

I would use the same name. I'm VickiLynn since someone had already taken VictoriaLynn. You're just more recognizable that way across the internet. I don't think we can place links to our hubs. I'm trying to get a definite answer to that, though.

I have tons of evergreen hubs here that tanked in the last few months. I hope it will come back. I will continue to write a few hubs per months here, hoping that things come back. But if my time is better spent making money at Bubblews, I will, as I depend on freelancing for part of my income, at least.

I don't know about voting down hubs. I'm sure that has happened. Another refreshing thing at Bubblews is the lack of heated forums. I haven't seen that level of fighting over there. It's fun and friendly. It might work great for your schedule. A post even a day and responding and connecting to a few people a bit at a time. There is no harm in checking it out and giving it some time to see what it does for you. You may or may not like how it works. To me, it's refreshing and is sparking my creativity. I'm going with it for now, at least. :-)

Thanks so much Victoria,

I like the idea of sparking creativity too! I appreciate you for taking the time to respond to all of my ramblings here.

I'm an Allvoices freak. It's not really for creative writers. No site pays as well. Now that they teamed up with Google exposure has gone way up. They don't really have a community.

Yes, it's great how the earnings accumulate more quickly as you're on there awhile. And the passive income definitely starts rolling in after awhile and definitely you can get indexed on Google.

I'm very glad you made the point that you got paid. Many people like to discredit Bubblews on this one point, and I'm glad to see someone telling people that you definitely do get paid on Bubblews. I do too, by the way, just to let the people know.

Hi Victoria Lynn,

Delighted you got paid and doing well on bubblews. As you know I am there but had been devoting my time here. I enjoy both and bubblews for me seems to have more quality now but there is still very poor posts. I want to concentrate my niche writing on HP and love the community spirit here which I would miss too much by leaving completely. The bar keeps rising here to the point where many are leaving or have moved on and earnings have been dwindling.

Seeing so many HP writers now on bubblews writing an assortment of posts it does not surprise me many are checking it out and hopefully all will do well. Great post, up, interesting and useful.

I thought this was very informative and interesting. I have checked out Bubblews but I have not joined yet. The standards with the Bubblews platform may not be as demanding as the HubPages site, but then again, we are comparing to very different animals. Bubblews is more of a blogging site with benefits more than anything else. If you are not one who enjoys "socializing" then Bubblews is not for you. The site has its share of really bad writers, however, they do have some very good writers as well, better than some on HP. At the end of the day, people are tired of putting through excellent work and not getting paid for it, therefore they are looking for alternatives. Bubblews has received many bad reviews but let's not forget that they are still evolving. Many people did not believe that Facebook and its concept would last either! It is sad that HubPages has been hit so hard, as a result talented writers have lost traffic and revenue and most importantly, inspiration. Thank you for sharing. (Voted Up) -Rose

Nate--That's what I'm hoping for--some passive income and more views from the outside. Time will tell, huh? Glad you got paid, too. I know many bubblers who have gotten paid time after time.

mpropp profile image

Congrats on your payouts at bubblews. I hope you are still getting payouts at hubpages, as well. I just started using the bubblews site earlier this week, as an experiment. I do enjoy reading the shorter posts...I think a lot of us will find that it is okay to make connections and post on both sites. We don't have to choose one or the other. They both are fun for different reasons.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Suzie HQ--I think the good writers ignore the poor posts, just as we do over here. I don't plan to ever leave HP either. I have kept up writing 4 hubs per month, so I feel that's pretty good as we watch and wait and hope for HP to recover from whatever they've been hit with. I'm just trying to find a balance and a way to make a living! Plus a fun place to write!

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Yeah, Bill, it's fun and different and makes me more income since the 2/3rds cut at HubPages. Don't get me wrong. I'm not leaving HP, either. As I said, the sites are both different and aren't in competition. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Writing at Bubblews is kind of like getting to blog without having to maintain my own blog. It challenges me in different way. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend, too!

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Carol, I wonder what happened with your account. Can you get back in? I know they've been working on glitches. They've done some updates to the site. Maybe you should try again. :-)

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Exactly, rose-the planner. We're talking about two different animals, as you say. Bubblews is like blogging, which is fun! Yes, people should be paid for their work. Good writers on Bubblews will eventually weed out some of the crap that's posted there. Bubblews IS continuing to evolve, update, and work out the glitches. Personally, I have been devastated by the changes at HP. It's always been my "home," and I hope it bounces back. Bubblews gives me some inspiration to keep on writing, whether it's there or here, too.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

mpropp--After 6 months at Hp, I started getting regular payouts. That continued for a year and a half. I think that August will be the first month that I don't reach it. Looks like I might get halfway there. LOL. It's pitiful how things have changed. You're right. Let's just write everywhere. We don't have to choose sides. :-)

Hey!

I also write at Bubblews, but lately I haven't been able to figure out what I want to write about. So far the only things I've managed to write have been more like my diary: just random thoughts and posts that really don't really benefit anyone.

I'm not really sure what to do about that.

Too soon for me to get a payout after only three days, but I'm enjoying writing stuff that I could never write on HP. I even put a poem on there! I like it so far.

Voted this UP and will share.

I enjoy Bubblews, although I haven't been as diligent at creating posts there. But the money does add up fast! I want to get back to writing more often, because I really could use the extra money!

I love HubPages, but Bubblews has satisfied the urge to write some posts that don't require a whole lot of content, and they're much faster to put together. Besides, I like diversifying.

Thanks for sharing this with us, and have a wonderful day!

Hey, Jaded Koala. When I get stumped, I go over to Reddit and browse. I find some obscure article, like off of the Offbeat subreddit, read the article, write about it (own words, of course) on Bubblews; I do that a few times and then my creative juices start flowing again and I'm back to spontaneously posting my own subject matter, thoughts, etc.

I just need to find the time. It's great to know that it's worked out well for you so far!

I agree that Bubblews is bubbling all over hubpages. lol. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You're a good writer so I'm sure you will be making more than $25.00. Please do let us know if they continue paying you. I do have an account there, but haven't written anything. I was a bit turned off by people outside of hubpages trying to connect with me and asking me to connect with them. Then, I read some articles and the ones I came across had no substance. That's funny that someone would bubble something on good night. Their favorite breakfast is okay now I don't know about 400 words.

Online I've been on bubbles for 3 weeks now, I got paid once, awaiting my next which I had a email comfirming I'm getting it and by today I'll have my third. So if you haven't been paid you broke one of the rules which could be asking for likes, comments or asking to be connected. Getting your friends to like, comment etc because this is "tricking their system". Trust me they pay as long as you go with their rules which are posted on the bank icon.

To FaithReaper and VickiLynn, no you cannot post links to your hubs there, but you can post a link to your profile on your profile bio page there just like you can in your bio page here.

I must have joined there right before hearing all the hullabaloo on the net about bubblews. I found out about it from a friend last month and though it was too good to be true. I set up a user name/password but didn't keep track of it and didn't write anything.

Then, on a answer board here someone from another country was talking about it so I decided to check it out again and thought I'd see what would happen if I did post articles.

It's not happening as quickly for me to redeem as others as I have more time contraints, but I only have just over two dollars to go before my first redemption.

One thing that would have helped me out more would have been had I made more connections in the beginning. A few hubbers here suggested not following everyone you came in contact with and for whatever reason I followed that through to bubblews.

For good posts and information, check out AdrienneJenkins, she has a plethora of information to help you succeed. If at all possible at least one photo is best or it makes it difficult to be able to pin another person's post.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Marsha--Yes, the connections help you get to redemption faster. I'm still working on getting more. I'm not real fast at adding them. We could look under categories we're interested in to find like-minded folks, I guess. Connections are vital there.

Yes, I've been reading AdrienneJenkins, too. Very helpful! And she's so enthusiastic.

I do always put photos. I've been sketching my own a lot!

Thanks for all the great input!

VIctoria, I've heard that if a person gets too many connections too quickly it's questioned by support, but that may be only for those that ask for connections back. It's easy enough to get connections without having to ask for them.

Victoria Lynn profile image

That may be true, Marsha. I disconnected with someone who had 3 posts but 1000 connections. Evidently, this person was just going around connecting with anyone. I think it takes longer to build those connections.

Nope, i did not received any reply from them. I dont think I broke one single rule. I always stick to the rules. Yes, I wonder why even those who have 0 post after redemptions still got their payments. My posts are just okay in numbers, as well as my connections,, not so many but not few either. I just connect to people whom i find articles interesting. i dont connect just because of numbers.. wodner why they did not pay me.so i got disappointed..

Here are the rules:

We have the right to remove (and not pay out) any account that partakes in the conduct listed below:

1. Submitting content that you did not write yourself. Copying content from other websites around the internet is stealing and Bubblews will never pay you for that.

2. Abusing our likes/views/comment system by partaking in exchange groups and requesting for them through other Bubblews' members.

3. Utilizing Traffic Exchange, Bots, Proxies, Virtual Private Network and other forms of IP manipulation is stealing from Bubblews.

4. Submitting posts that only contain pictures and/or containing very limited text is prohibited as this is not content our advertisers like to pay for.

5. Posting Pornographic/semi-pornographic images and/or content to Bubblews.

6. Posting LESS THAN 400 characters per post.

7. Posting material not written in English (Only exception is if you supplement your post with an English translation).

8. Posting links within your bubbles to cite/source/enhance your work is fine, but please do not post Referral or Affiliate links to other websites. Use your best discretion and if you are unsure please email in.

Also If you did NOT get a Green box at the top of your page when you sent in your redemption then you missed something in the form that you are supposed to fill out.

gameslike, why are you asking us? We don't control that, you do. Did you fill out that redemption form fully?

Mary, I have also been noticing that those who are crediting their photos to themselves are really getting those off Bubblews and the net and then calling them their own. Don't they know that is a violation and illegal too?

I've been over there since July 27, and I really enjoy it. They are very strict with their rules. I try and read articles that are tutorials. I'll check out that AdrienneJenkins. I just learned if you place the http:// in front of the title your article will be found quicker on search engines. Another thing: I still see Hubbers linking back to HP and they don't always attribute their photos. Just saying.......

I once again joined Bubblews after being not allowed access the first time. This time I wrote an article and it went through fine. The second one I wrote would not submit. And it finally erased. Guess Bubblews doesn't like me.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Yes, Mary, I like Adrienne's stuff, too! Very helpful. There is some dissent about the http thing. I think it may refer to links within the post, but I'm not sure. And it's unclear as to whether or not we can link to HP hubs or whether that just refers to a referral link. Yeah, the photo thing bothers me, too.

Carol--How did it erase? What do you mean? It was there, and then it wasn't??? Weird!

I have written for Bubblews for three months now. They do pay, and there are some rules. I have been lucky so far, I have had three redemption's. One person I was connected to had had 13 out of 13 payments, and some people redeem every few days. I am not a prolific writer and also creating a good network of friends helps. It is a great site though, pretty addictive and there are some lovely people.

Hi Vicky.. NOpe.. I did not violate of of those rules. I write long articles, more than 400 chars. and i dont spam my own work. i did not even share my own work thru social sites afraid this will be the reason. i guess ic an understand if one time only, but 4 times???

mary615 profile image

I was advised by a Bubbler who has been there for a while NOT to use the http thingy before the title. Said he would research that let me know. So, I didn't use it on my latest post.

I'm not quite ready to redeem. Wish me luck!

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Janey Hood - I'm glad you've been successful there. You're right; there are some great people. There are many who have never had trouble with payments. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I just got notified that my second redemption is on its way, and I'm only a few bucks away from a third one! Yay!

Victoria Lynn profile image

I don't know, unknown spy. They didn't give you any reason?

Mary--I've heard not to use it, too. I'd like to hear more about it, though. Good luck, Mary. Hope your first redemption goes smoothly!

I´m bubbling too, but I don´t post more than 3 post a day. That´s if I even post. I ignore the poor posts as they are just a waste of time. I mostly read the bubbles of our hubbers. I got my first redemption and I hope the next will be paid, too. Thanks for sharing this hub Vicky. Happy new week.

Thelma, I post 1 - 4 posts and next to none on the weekends. Still, I just applied for my third redemption. About one per week. :-) Thanks for reading. See you soon!

Victoria, I got my second redemption in my bank account after about 9 days though I haven't received the first one. Unpaid redemptions are a mystery as things are not clarified.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

rajan--I do wish they would be clear when they don't pay someone. They should send an email saying why. I'm sorry that you didn't get yours. I'm sure you've emailed them? I've heard that putting a message on their BubblewsSupport1 page might work better . . . ?

mary615 profile image

mary615 3 years ago from Florida

I'm glad you mentioned about the BubblewsSupport1 page. I hope I haven't broken a rule on "sharing". Someone (don't remember who) advised Bubblews frowns upon too much sharing. I've been sharing my Bubble on my own FB page and also on a FB Group. If I don't get paid, that will probably be the rule I broke. Have you heard that?

janetwrites profile image

janetwrites 3 years ago from Georgia country

mary615, I have heard about this issue. You are only allowed to share your posts once per social networking site through the buttons next to the post. But I think if you copy the link and place it on your own FB page and also on a FB Group, it's OK.

Lady Guinevere profile image

Lady Guinevere 3 years ago from West Virginia

I do that all the time. Most of the people that are in my FB groups are not on my FB friends list and god forbid I try to add them. I have had to make a new account because I added too many friends that I didn't know.

I will post it to my profile page and then I will share that post with my groups I belong in.

The subject of missed payments on BUBBLEws. This is what someone just told me about what was going on: "there is a backlog of similar issues occurring they are working through the missed payments as best they can. I informed them of my missed payment and about a week later they got back to me to let me know that they are working on the issue. There is supposed to be an update to an automated payout system among these Bubblews 3.0 upgrades sometime in the future. I've been told that these non-payment issues should never be a problem again once that is installed."

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

I haven't heard that, and I have been sharing some of mine on Facebook or tweeting them.

Is that right, janetwrites? We can share once per social site. I've been copying and pasting, too. Where did you read this rule? I haven't seen it. Thanks for the info!

janetwrites profile image

janetwrites 3 years ago from Georgia country

Victoria, this rule about sharing on social network sites was one of the inofficial rules. I think another bubbler mentioned it in a FB group and cited a statement of Bubblews Support 1 concerning this issue. This bubbler asked Bubblews Support how often we are allowed to share on social network sites and he received the answer that you are allowed to post it once per social network if you click on the buttons next to your post.

Marsha Musselman1 profile image

Marsha Musselman1 3 years ago from Michigan, USA

I would be interested in hearing where someone from bubblews staff told -hanetwrites- that too as I wrote something about another site a long time ago and got paid for it. Of course, I'm not writing for them anymore. I've also seen other articles about other writing sites on there too.

Sometimes certain members assume things, or we don't know the full story and everything doesn't fit for every person. For instance, I've talked to a few people about using content written elsewhere if it was pulled from the other site and not available in cyber-space for six months. Someone else told me that we only had to wait two weeks, if the item was pulled.

Recently, someone told me that she was told by someone that tries to help a lot of people that we can't use content from a blog post even if it was written years ago. I thought that was odd. The only thing might be that the blog post is still in existence. If that is the case, then I'd say it can't be used again.

So, it really depends on who told her the information about not being able to write about other paying websites.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Marsha--you're not writing for them anymore? It's interesting all the things we hear about the rules, depending on who we ask. Anyway, thanks for reading, and Happy Thanksgiving!

lovedoctor926 3 years ago

Hi Victoria, thanks for sharing your experience. I've been writing on there since August and have redeemed four times already. I like the fact that you can blog about anything you want and the posts are short. You're right, some people blog about silly stuff. Happy Thanksgiving!

Marsha Musselman1 profile image

For those here that are bubblers too, BubblewsSupport1 is no longer. Now it's BubblewsSupport2, although some information about the right support person to contact is under Jason's profile.

I believe the information about sharing to the social sites may be located under the redemption page, not the bank page. By that I mean the page that shows up after you hit redeem.

Also, what they frown on is people that have multiple twitter and similar accounts and then trying to share with each of them. Only one sharing is allowed. I'm not sure about Facebook friends, vs Facebook Groups.

It doesn't matter how many readers share our posts to Twitter and the rest, though. Also, when we edit our posts, if we've already shared them once, we can't share them again.

janetwrites profile image

janetwrites 3 years ago from Georgia country

Victoria and Marsha, well, I know it directly from Bubblews staff but I can't say more. The problem with many people who are not paid is they spread the word about it everywhere and write articles about it on Bubblews itself and then they expect to be paid. After missing one payment I just treated it confidentially and I was paid again.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 3 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Marsha, I didn't know that about BubblewsSupport1. Interesting. I am not even aware of who Jason is?????? Thanks for the info. I did know we could only share once to each of our media groups. Yeah, like you, I don't know if that means more places on FB than just one page. Probably not, but, then again, who knows?

I'm still enjoying Bubblews 5 and a half months after I joined. Every time I have reached the minimum redemption amount, and have redeemed, I have been paid. That's 22 times now. I also haven't had much time lately (I see you say so too in your previous comment) but Bubblews is awesome and some passive income trickles in even when I am not posting and being active on the site.

Distant Mind profile image

Distant Mind 2 years ago

I personally don't trust Bubblews at all. I got paid a few times and then they stopped paying me and I know it has happened to many other people. The worst part of it all is that they don't explain why they are not paying you which is really annoying. The possibility for a passive income is there for sure since I've seen my bank fill up many times over, but they just don't pay my redemptions. So it's a risky thing and their attitude is not to be trusted. It's surely a bubble that is going to burst sooner or later. For many people it has been a bubble that has already burst.

janetwrites profile image

janetwrites 2 years ago from Georgia country

I see so many people on Bubblews that are not paid who say they have always followed the rules and can't understand why they are not paid. But when I check their account and posts I always find mistakes which are the reasons for their non-payment. So, Distant Mind, are you sure you have always followed their rules? I , myself, had one missing payment. For this reason, I checked all my posts and found mistakes. I corrected them and was paid again. After they have not been paid, many Bubblers tend to write bad reviews about Bubblews being a scam. Not being paid doesn't automatically mean Bubblews is a scam because so many other Bubblers have been paid regularly. Once you write a bad review about Bubblews you can't expect to be paid again. I know a lot of people that earn a decent income on Bubblews and they have always been paid.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 2 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Teresa--I need to spend more time there, as it's nice that it builds some when we're not there. Plus, the posts don't take very long. That's great that you've been paid 22 times! I've probably redeemed about 1/2 of that, but I've always been paid, and in a timely manner!

Distant Mind profile image

Distant Mind 2 years ago

Well, I'm sure they have some kind of a reason. What makes them unrealiable and untrustworthy is the fact that they never ever communicate with their users what is going on. I don't know what made them decide not to pay me and I am not sure it's really justified or it's a way for them to cotrol the costs of operating their service. This is a very dodgy and scammy way to approach denying your users payment for any reason. Why not tell them what's wrong, let them fix it, continue building your community without all this negative backlash?

And let's be honest about it. Everything about their website and the way they handle themselves screams lack of professionalism.

I hope they keep paying you.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 2 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Distant Mind--Perhaps it was a photo you used or something like that? It is a pain when they don't get back to you. I'm hoping that will change over time as they get more of the system under control, better organized. I don't feel the redemptions are risky. Maybe there are some things you're not aware you are doing??

As janetwrites says, maybe there is something. I don't think Bubblews is a scam, either. So many people are being paid.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 2 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

janetwrites--Thanks for the input. I think sometimes people don't know what they have done. It would be helpful if the management over there would let people know what the problem was. That would help. I'm glad you could figure out yours on your own again. I have always been paid in a timely manner without issue.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 2 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Distant Mind--I'm not sure about what is unprofessional, except that I do agree that it would be nice to let people know what they did wrong when they inquire. Maybe the communication will improve. They recently raised the payout, so that should free up some time to focus on other things. Anyway, I'm sorry you had a bad experience there.

I tried out bubblews a while back, and have two accounts. The money really built up quickly there, and a few posts went quickly viral, but didn't have the time to keep up posting, so gave up within a couple of weeks. Yesterday, I went there and saw it's almost time for another payout! Great hub voted up!

Victoria Lynn profile image

alexadry--I should post more often. I've found it hard to keep up with posting and responding to comments--and reading other posts, too. I need to do some now and then as I'm getting closer to a payout, too. :-)

I was using Bubblews for a bit there and hit a couple of payouts, but I got bored. I kept hearing too many rumors about others having problems... even if you get paid a time or two, it was never any guarantee if the payments would continue. Also, I felt like I had to constantly visit everyone's page, post comments, befriend everybody, etc. It was more work to me than HubPages or WebAnswers. I've been laying low on Bubblews lately because of it. Also, I noticed the payout is $50 now. Shesh! I am happy for anyone that enjoys the site, but I guess it is just not for me.

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 2 years ago from Arkansas, USA Author

Jeannie, I received 9 of the $25 payouts and then it took me 3 months to reach $50 when they changed it. LOL. Like you, I found I had to work too hard and too much to keep the money coming in. Like, comments, running all over the place. I can vouch for timely payments, but I do appreciate payout on HP every month without all the hours put into it. I'll probably post over there now and then, read a little bit and try not to watch the bank. :-)

You may be aware of this, but: seems the staff hired an extra hand just to help with the backlog of unpaid redemptions. He posted that he would help, and the last time I looked a couple of days ago, there was well over 2,000 distraught and angry writers asking him to please help them.

At first, he jumped right on the problem, and many people were paid. Now, I think he is overwhelmed and is no longer responding.

There is so much negative publicity regarding the site on social sites and the internet in general.

I have one last redemption remaining. One can only redeem every 39 days now, and you have to wait another 30 days to be paid.

Audrey, I make a little passive income there, but I haven't posted much in a while. My HubPages earnings have really picked up, and I found that it takes too much time now on Bubblews, particularly with the new format, to build income. Are you writing over there?
