Free Tax Software for Tax Year 2009
File Your Income Taxes using Studio Tax
The deadline to file income taxes in Canada for income for 2009 was April 30, 2009, but if you have not completed your income taxes, you are still in luck. You can still send your income tax or efile your income tax to the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) by downloading a free version of Studio Tax 2009 developed by BHOK IT Consulting to complete your taxes. It is one of the best tax preparation software available in the market and it is absolutely free. Other alternative tax preparation software to use are Cantax, QuickTax or UFile, but they are not free.
Please note, Studio Tax 2009 is meant to file your own personal income taxes and not for tax preparers who are registered for the CRA.
I have used previous versions of Studio Tax 2007 and Studio Tax 2008 and have had no problems using this software to file my income tax. The interface and graphics may not be as good as the paid tax software mentioned above, but it certainly works as intended.
