How To Withdraw Money From PayPal In Kenya Using NationHela Prepaid Card

PayPal Transfer in Kenya

This NationHela service has been stopped for the moment but you can now withdraw PayPal money using Equity bank.

It has been a bit hard for Kenyans to withdraw their hard earned money from PayPal. Things have now changed and it is possible to withdraw money from your PayPal account. This has been made possible by the introduction of NationHela prepaid card.

NationHela is a simple, affordable, speedy and convenient international money transfer service that has been introduced by the Nation Media group. With this money transfer service, it is possible to send money in Kenya from any part of the world within a very short period of time.

Benefits of NationHela Visa Card

  • You can be able to send money from PayPal account to your NationHela account.
  • You can send money home to your family, friends and your relatives from your PayPal account, debit card or credit card.
  • Money is sent to the recipients NationHela prepaid visa card or mobile phone.
  • You can withdraw the money from any VISA branded ATM in Kenya or any other outlet worldwide, local agents or even send it to your MPESA, Airtel money or Yucash account.
  • Once you transfer money to your phone, you can be able to pay bills for instance, electricity and water bills.
  • With your card, you can purchase goods and services locally and you can also make online purchases.

Procedure of Acquiring the Card

The NationHela Visa card can be purchased from NationHela agents country wide, Nation Media Group distributors, DTB bank and leading supermarkets (I bought mine at Uchumi near Anniversary Towers).

After buying the card, you should make sure you activate it. It is activated using your mobile phone. After activating, your mobile phone number is set automatically as your account number, so guess what, you should not use someones line for activation. Once the card is activated, you can now be able to receive money or load cash locally once.

The card should then be registered so as to enable you access its full benefits. For this exercise, you will require a copy of your ID and then you fill a card registration form. Full access of your card will then be after 72 hours where now you can perform as many transactions as you want.

Money Transfer From PayPal to NationHela

This is the better part for me. As I write this, I have already tested this card and it is absolutely good. Actually, I have already cashed my money which I used for testing this new service. The transfer process is very easy and it takes a very short time, mine took 2 days though their given time is 3 days.

  1. To be able to transfer money, log in to NationHela website and on their home page select send money here option located on the right hand side.

  2. You get to another page where still on the right hand side you fill a small dialog box. Select country you are sending money to. If not there select others. Select currency (at the moment it is only USD), type the amount and click submit.

  3. After submitting, you will be taken to transaction page. On this page you will be able to confirm the amount of funds you are sending, transaction fee and the total money required to complete the transaction. After confirming, fill in recipients full names and phone number, then click send now button.

  4. In the next page, you will be required to fill in your personal information and select the mode of payment. This is where you will select Paypal as your mode of payment.

  5. In the next screen, you will be taken to PayPal log in screen. Confirm the amount you are sending and submit. An Email will be sent to yoo from PayPal indicating that you have issued a payment. You will also receive another email from 3G indicating a payment has been made to your account.
  6. Waiting game - wait for NationHela to finalize your transaction, after which you will get an SMS on your phone and email confirming money has been sent to your account.

Update

  1. The Nation Media have temporarily stopped the use of the card for withdrawing money from PayPal. Once things are back to normal, we will let you know.
  2. Equity Bank has launched a withdrawal service that will enable its members to withdraw their PayPal money.

Have you already acquired a NationHela prepaid card?

  • Yes
  • No
  • No, but I will apply for one

@AndrewHil93 I am not sure if it is available in Uganda, because even in Kenya it developed some problems and does not work. Luckily we have a bank that offers PayPal services in Kenya now. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing this, Nation Hela had done it first but then they got stuck. I agree that Payoneer Service is good for those people who have Paypal problems.

I had the same problem for years not until I read a tutorial here http://bit.ly/12fEfzy and followed it to the letter: I am glad to use that Payoneer service since its safe and easy. The only shortcoming you have to wait for 2-3 days for the money to go through check up. No harm in waiting as long as your money is SAFE. i hope this helps.

Yes cuttler, it is good to have a look at various options, especially the payoneer card would be much better.

cuttler, we are in the same boat brother, but I believe there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. It is true NationHela had started that service but I don't know what happened. The most valid way you can withdraw is by use of payoneer card. Go to their website and apply for their card. They other way is through money agents like epay kenya but they charge a hell lot of money. Hope this helps.

KenyaPesa allows you to Send cash to Kenya or withdraw from your PayPal at a very affordable rate and guaranteed delivery within 24 hours. Cash is delivered via Mpesa or bank deposit if you prefer.

Their customer service is online at all times to answer your questions and will let you know where your cash is at all times.

I agree with you Kimani Andrew, it is quite sad but let us hope they will sort this mess, I had come to like them very much, and I also wanted to support them. Remember you can also apply for a Payoneer Card or use epay kenya, though it is a bit expensive.

Kimani Andrew 4 years ago

Quite sad that Nation Hela 'Suspended' PayPal transactions. I guess we are back to the grueling old ways as before. As usual you will still be afraid of transacting huge sums should someone decide to vanish into thin air...

Walter I am in denial. I just hope they sort out this issue once and for all. I had solely bought the card in order to withdraw from paypal, and I did it once. The process was not that chaotic. Well, I think I don't have a choice but to update the page.

Thanks for checking how a brother is doing.

Walter 4 years ago

Hi Patkay,

This service has been suspended. Kindly update readers on that.

Thanks Al for the update. I also hope it is temporary because the card is very useful to us. I used it for Paypal transfer and it was efficient.

Al 4 years ago

Nation Hela has put on hold all the other remittance methods except card transfer. Called customer support but they are non-committal on when they'll resume PayPal services! Hope this is temporary

dwachira, I am smiling from ear to ear, as they say. I have already transacted and it was a smooth and fast transaction. This a good move because even the charges are very affordable, and again there are no hassles. Go for yours and be ready to withdraw your payout from HP. Thanks for the visit.

Hi PatKay, just when i was wondering how i shall withdraw my first Hubpages payout due at the end of this month, i log-on into my account and what do i see? This timely and useful hub. I think finally, firms in Kenya have realized how useful PayPal services are and obviously there is an increase in demand of these services in Kenya. Am planning to get the NationHela prepaid card right away. Thanks, voted up and useful.
