Hunger, Poverty and Homelessness -- How Can We Help?

A response to Tammy's plead on FB

Was mowing the lawn today and 'freaking' scenes and visions came to me. Mentally I was told to write the following with no intention to make it short or long. Agreed!

Why don't we remind people to get rid of useless furniture or clothing with the sign, "from the 99% of struggling America, this is for free!" I said to myself, "yeah, makes sense. We should add, 'if rich people don't have time for us, then why we should kiss their asses?'"

Not writing in particular order because we jot down things before inspiration leaves the building with Elvis. Another idea came while trimming our garage entrance.

Free Flea Market and Exchange

Make little postcards offering your service for a free flea market on your front yard. All can donate and bring stuff to your garage. The exchange would be for free, and neighbors would be able to exchange a word or two. You can rotate this Free Marketing asking who would be available for a next "excahnge."

The Elderly

Elders and older Fellows are not popular on CNN. Unless they won that freaking Megamillion. Then McKayla Maroney would get mad again... for no getting the media attention. Ops! But babyboomer like us are already living a life of retirements... and hope?

Offer your service to do some shopping for the elderly, and even think of ways to monitor their health. Why should you do it? Offer that 2 hours a week in your grandma/grandfather's memory. Should you get paid? I think I was told all these ideas by great spirits. Don't want to sound creepy..!

That Helpful Talent of Yours!

Share it!! For God's sake! Please Tiger Woods and Kim Kardashian, you both are getting on our way. Would you move away from our rantings? You too Britney!!

If you are a teacher, offer tutorials for struggling kids. Promote yourself on Craigslist or local Supermarket's posting boards. Lenders and credit Cards don't want you to do this. They want their precious geometric interest back. So, by sharing experience with no money involved, you will hurt that 1% of the wealthy population. Not Pablum at all! They would think better, when they head to Baja California (Cabos) for their time sharing (You are really cheap...###)

Thank The Creator

Do it for your health, lucid life and the love for your family. We were made to love and help each other. Just think about it, how many times you have done people wrong and not feeling good about it? Just picture Karma like a natural reaction to an action from life. "Treat people the way you want to be treated." All has a celestial purpose. You are reading us and making sure you get to the end...

Hunger. How can we help..?

There are practical tips that come into our minds:

  • Donate 5/10 dollars in can food to your local church
  • Offer your help in cooking for the poor-- 2 hours on a weekeng won't kill anyone. Besides will do you good.
  • Volunteer and create your own meal on wheels if you are bold enough to cater. The needy list can be obtained from your City Hall, or Fire department. They will refer you to trusted sources.

Just remember, we are keeping the middle man away, and reconnecting your humanity. Did you know that we wrote this from our hearts? Who is dictating these words? Why we didn't mention Salvation Army?

Homelesness: Real Life Situations

We can go anywhere with our minds and capture moments with deep feelings.

Just Quick Real Timing Examples

We see Mark, as clear as the daylight, a 39 years old divorced who lost his job to a consulting firm in Manhattan. His actual job? A clerk at a Auto-part delaership. He lost a family, an accounting job and his brand new V8 Seqouia Toyota to the "repo-man." Now he rents a room on a second floor house, a family house.

His landlord is Mary Jane, an 83 years old senior citizen, who has a sick hubby who gave his life for this country. Social security is not enough for her to make ends meet, and had to rent her second floor in order to survive. Why are we telling you all these? This is simply happening all over. People is downsizing and becoming aware of the devastating financial situation. There should be a reason for everything, but for now we think God knows what he is doing. Debbie Brooks or Faith Reaper would say it better: "When you reach rock bottom, there is nothing but going up...way up!" Are we losing the American dream?

The Beggar Sleeping Under the Bridge...

We stopped one day and saw an old an raggedy fellow sleeping under the highway bridge. Suddenly, we had visions of him. He must've been someone somewhere. I knew, he had a story of his own. But physically he was completely gone. Alcohol and those dry lips prevented me from waking him up. The thing is, there was a story behind these people, who covered their dreams with a piece of cardboard from Walmart. They were not as lucky as we are. Again, this article is written from nothing but our mind, and we just go with the flow.

The Harvest Man and The Rich

Who do see happier? The immigrant working 12 hours a day, picking up those berries and letucces for all of us? Or Silvester Stallone mourning his son's death? Who is happier? A single mom working fro minimum wage at a factory, or Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Christina? Who is healthier? Who got more vitamin D and E from the sun? Just to give you an example.

Do you think 40 billion dollars kept Steve Jobs alive? Do you think 560 millions lost in one day did change Mark Zuckerberg's heart? What does Google's Larry Page and Sergei Brin should do to keep this country afloat? They forgot they started In that garage back in 1997? Do we really see a future for Michael Jackson kids?

We know Bill Gates is busy with another countries ... but Gee Billy! Can you just make your parents prouder and keep things for real? Amanda Gates, we know you want to erradicate AIDS from other Nations, but just think of our flag and our freedom; do you guys want to keep America a "home for the brave?"

Do you think Tom Cruise's step daughter lives a happy life? Sorry for your loss John Travolta. We don't need fame and go insane. And the list goes on!

Back To Us..!

It is up to us to start to change, and we know we can do it ourselves. John F. Kennedy said better, "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country"

We are not ready for a revolution, because everyone has interests and hidden pacts. We all know drugs abound. We all know about our maffia fellows. But when will we say, enough was enough?

A Little of History´╗┐

The Indians gave us hope by sparing our lives, and fed us through´╗┐ our first winter in mainland America. The feast held in the autumn of 1621 by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag to celebrate the colony's first successful harvest , gave us an initial sense of camaraderie.

Is time to recapture the feeling of giving back to our fellow citizens and regain the humanity that made this country great. So help us God!

If you want to Join us And make money:

If you feel like writing your heart out, and feel better, Join us now! You won't regret it!

Interesting hub. Everyone should try and make a difference for someone else. Also a lot of people forget that there is usually a story behind every one that needs help. Heck, all of us could end up needing help one day too.

When we hear about something it does not have nearly the impact as when we see it. This is amazing and thanks for bringing it to light. We all get caught up in our own little world with our issues and problems. But this is a real one and we can do something about it. Thanks for writing this. Voted UP and Shared.

Yes, we all can do our part for sure. One of our older missionary friends from our previous church in the city, had one of their friends they met from Africa, visiting the States, and when they drove past a storage facility, their friend asked them what is that. They said that is where people store their things that they do not need. And their friend was just blown away, things they do not need? He could not understand, as in his country, they depend every day on what they need to eat, drink, etc. from God. There is nothing extra, and they use everything they have. We can do like the Vivienne, the eight year old girl, who already has collected $15,000 for help fight human trafficking. Her goal is to collect $150,000, I just wrote a hub about it. I had a personal ministry to the homeless some years ago, where I placed a bottle of water, protein bar, maps to homeless shelters and scripture, etc. in a brown paper bag with a cross on one side and scripture on the other side and I handed them out everyday to homeless or downtrodden individuals. This was after the Holy Spirit convicted me while I was driving past a homeless person in the downtown area where I work. I also wrote a poem about that, Unseen By Choice. There is a lady called the trunk lady who has blankets, etc. in the back of her trunk and when she sees someone, she hands them out as well. If each and every one us were to do just a little something, the world would be much better off. If you ever have a chance to go on a mission trip, it will change your life, but you do not have to go far, look in your very own county, city and state and country, then branch out. God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

I read 4.4 million will be unemployed in September and someone called it a national crises yet we never get that news. This is not their families in the count either. I really expect we better be ready to make some hand outs because people will not see their children starve and isn't it better to give willingly? I have written on this and have one warming now, I do hope people will do it for kindness. Glad your conscience made you think, great write.

Could not agree with your article more Joseph and loved every word written here, especially, "Treat people the way you want to be treated." That one phrase was taught to me as child, by my mother and must tell you she was so right and that truly is how I live my life everyday. I always try to remember when dealing with others, that I want to make sure they know I care and that is they way I would like to be treated in return. Nicely put and of course voted up, shared and tweeted too!!

It is great to see someone construct a proactive approach to this problem. Most articles just point out the problem. When I was moving out of my home for 15 years, I was having a yard sale with TONS of stuff my family accumulated. After two days of a yard sale, it is tempting to set the remaining items on fire rather than face toting it back in again and repacking it. My kids asked if their friends in need could come to pick stuff up. Within an hour they had found homes for everything and it went to people who really needed it. Even the slightest things can make a difference to others. This is a very inspiring hub.

You made some fantastic points. It's not about saving the world, it's about doing the little things for the people you meet along the way. Everyone does a little, and it becomes a lot. We teach it to our kids, and don't do it ourselves. Nice work.

CAROL, we just wrote something from within. Inspiration came and we just wrote it. There is no plagiarism at all. These is a real event that is happening on every neighborhood. We deny it for fear and... in a way we are cautious avoiding suspicious elements. But, thanks for commenting my friend.

Faith you should run for Senator and period. There is no way a woman of God is going to decieve the masses. We came out with simple solutions. Sorry Faith it gets me angry knowing that there is money being blown for that perfidious drug, but when it comes to find real solutions... everything changes for the worse. Thanks for your extensive comment and have read your alluded hubs and your charity work. Thanks and God bless as well!

Jackie Lynnley,

There is a hidden secret shared between the media and top politicians. Curiad wrote about it, and is a shame. You ever wonder why we don't excel in Geography? We just need this language and this country. But what is behind all this misinformation? We should think about it. Hunger and homelessness can cause uproar and unexpected reaction from the average Joe. Thanks for sharing that info! Better be ready for harder times. Is election year, so who cares?

Janine, the sad part is. our kids will inherit this Country. I guess some rich people will jump out of this boat with their kids and puppies. What are they thinking? 236 years down the drain, in the name of corruption and greed? Hope things change and we all take heed.

Tammy once again, you have given us a great example from your own reality. In 2005, when Katrina struck New Orleans, my kid, then 11, wanted to donate his whole savings, without even thinking. Tha was from his own heart. These are simple things that add up. Thanks so much for reading us, and leaving meaningful comments.

@Julie You have 3 wonderful kids. Who in the world wnat to inherit a mess of a country? What are the rich thinking? Is this a curse? How come we don't help each other like our founding fathers did? Is really a shame, that we can send Curiosity to Mars and mess up a supersonic X-1 failing our tax contributors? Something will be done willingly or by force. Thanks Julie.

@Thanks to you Kelley. Hope we can make a difference by giving more ideas and sharing fulfilling experiences. You have a nice Sunday!

@Maria Jordan, we know our devoted Maria and her Praying force of women. Is what we do individually what really counts. Thanks for the input and we already miss your series. Thanks so much Maria!

GypsieCrone, Help is needed all over. Wierd that the media is sugar coating our brains with sports and series with empty messages. Thanks! for your valuable comment!

@ Always Exploring, we need lots of "Helping Hands" and the true is out there. Thanks for the input and support!

@KJForce, my kids have been helpful as well. I think the world would be a different place to live, if we could teach our kids with examples and solid morals. The outcry is out there, and we cannot be living at the government's expense forever. Thanks my friend!

@Ttoombso8, Great to hear from you. We are behind on commenting and we will check on your hubs soon. Thanks for your support and patience!

Neither party care for the poor, citizens that is, and never have and even many people here as well as everywhere. They think they chose to be homeless and poor. They should be very glad I am not God. I would give them a taste of it a few days. lol

Ha, Lord, "run for Senate!" Bless you, but I am more effective in the actual trenches, and thank you for thinking such a thought. I am afraid once a "Godly" person gets involved on the political side of things, then they may wind up not so "Godly" or remain "right with God" for too long. God bless you dear one. About one billion of the world population (about 15%) is starving, about 30% of all food produced is wasted, 10% of the money spent on weapons and other military equipment would be enough to end hunger on this planet forever. Let's start to make changes ... !

NextstopJupiter, you are so right! This is the worst sin humanity ever committed since creation. A billion mouths pleading and dictatorial regimes thinking of the latest weapon! This is so unreal, but true. Changes have to happen one by one. No one cannot change us but ourselves.
