My September article earnings beat my August article earnings

How much more did I make?

I made about $17 ( about R122) more in September 2010 from article earnings, than I did in August 2010 from article earnings.

The amount I refer to when I speak about article earnings also includes pages on my websites and blog posts on my self-hosted WordPress blogs. In fact, so far, my highest earnings come from content on my own sites or blogs, but then I add to that by also earning small amounts from HubPages, Factoidz, Triond, Constant Content, Helium, and RedGage.

Although the earnings from my article writing efforts are still quite small, it is obvious to me that the more I write and that the more effort I put into my online earnings strategy, the more I can make.

I'm pleased that there was an improvement from August to September as I'm trying to show people who are struggling for ideas for extra income, that earning money online, from writing articles, is quite possible, and that it's not only possible, but that the earnings increase over time.

My strategy includes making just one article work for me in more than one way, by republishing the same articles to another site or two (not HubPages articles as that is frowned upon.) Republishing articles makes sense to me, as it means less work for more money. Even if the earnings are quite small, they all add up, and earn me more than if I left each article in just one place.

When I say "less work" don't get me wrong - there is still work involved. One doesn't sit around to earn an income. People have to work for money. Even creating content that will earn the creator a passive income in the future, had to be created and submitted somewhere in the first place. The more this is done, the more one can earn. It's work.

There is a lot of learning involved too, and even when one thinks one knows quite a bit, one finds that there is always more to learn. I find it's fun. I like to learn. I like to work hard, because I like to earn. I know that the harder I work, and the more I read and learn, the more I can earn.

If you have the same attitude, and are looking for ideas on how to earn some extra income online, consider writing, but don't just add all your articles to one place - learn how to make each article work for you in more than just one way.

And don't give up. The earnings increase over time.

Thanks milenaamr, I was hoping it was motivational - too many people are wondering how they can earn some extra income, then don't do anything about it. I hope that many people will learn and understand that it IS possible to earn extra income online, as long as they are determined to.

Great that you're posting about the hard work needed to earn online. Sometimes, as I write and answer comments on my blog, I stop and think whether I'm doing something worthwhile. So your post is an encouragement.

Same with you, my self-hosted blog is the one earning some money, as it's audience is local. Competing for keywords in my country is easier than competing worldwide or in the U.S.

@ Nera - I'm glad you feel encouraged. I certainly agree that self-hosted blogs targeting a local market can do quite well, as compared with trying to compete on a global level.
