SCAMS Online and SCAM Robo Calls

Internet Scams, Cell Phone Robo Call Scams

Scams are going to happen in person and on the internet. I decided to create this Hub, because for the last month I have been getting Robo Calls from fraudsters, that actually thought I was a regular type of consumer that falls easily to these type of scams. I am a firm believer in justice and advocating for the small person, and I really do not like to hear when people get taken advantage of. Today I received a call from a Verizon Wireless customer care number, which I thought was odd since I do not have Verizon Wireless service. I used to work for the company so I am familiar with the number, and was surprised that they left a message. I called my voice, and it was a scam.

::::: Be on Alert:::::::

The automated message left a website for me to visit:

DO NOT VISIT this website this is for information purposes only so if you find this Hub, you will understand that its a fake scam, and they just want your information so avoid it at all cost.

The automated message says to visit wwyw.myverizon60.com (I intentionally put a "Y" in the address so it doesn't somehow turn into a link) but the web address is spoofed and it is really a web address that directs you to:

------------> 60mybonus.no-ip.biz <--------- Fraudulent website

I shouldn't have to say it, but again DO NOT VISIT THOSE SITES, AND IF YOU DO, BECAUSE THE CURIOSITY IS INSIDE OF YOU, DO NOT INPUT YOUR INFORMATION!

If you are a Verizon Wireless customer below are some of the things you can do:

If you receive a text message, forward it to 7726;

If you receive an email of this sort, forward it to phishing@verizonwireless.com;

If you receive a phone message, call *611 and report it.

Or if you are a NON-Verizon Customer call there 800.922.0204 Line and hit option 4, and just wait...a customer care rep will come on the phone eventually. And request the fraud department or request a report to be emailed/sent to the fraud department.

Be aware that Verizon Will not Robo call you to update your information online just so you can win or get anytime of credit applied to your bill. I no longer work for the company, but trust me, Big Red is not going to offer you credit to keep your information up to date. This goes along for any other provider that you my do business with. I will periodically update this hub to other fake known scams that have affected me because I know they have probably affected other people also. I am one of those people that believes in true customer service, and following up on matters that mean something to myself and to others.

I will make a Hub about good ways to avoid cam websites but the quick and easiest way is to install Comodo Internet Security and Avast!, they are both free and they will keep you safe with the basic features. They will actually automatically block known fraudulent websites automatically to help protect you. As time goes on I will add more fraudulent websites that I have come across.
