The truth about making money online

Updated on January 27, 2012

The truth about making money online. Let's get to it ...

Making money online is something many of us would like to do. It offers great opportunities in a way that couldn't be more comfortable to anyone. A large amount of online jobs don't require you to go out of your front door, you can work your own hours, and you can work in the comfort of your own home. Allot on online work doesn't even require you to have any qualifications or previous training, and allot of the time you don't have to work for anyone, you do in fact become your own boss. In this article I will be explaining various different ways you can make money online, then explaining the truth about your chances of succeeding and the amount of revenue you are likely to generate in certain time frames. My sources of information are from personal experience and also the experience of some people that I know which means that you can real world data and not just predictions.

Making money through writing

This is a great way to make some money as all your using is your mind and fingers ! There are two ways you can make money through writing online. The first is by contract/hire, in which case a company will pay you to write for their website. This usually has some kind of criteria that you have to meet, for instance a company might ask you to do 10 blog posts per day with a minimum of 1 thousand words each. The second way is by making your own website and writing for it, this way you would be your own boss. I would suggest having your website be on a particular niche so the web user would no what to expect from it.

There is really good money in contract/hire/freelance work, but, you will need to apply to the company and they will have to pick, out of most probably many candidates, who gets the job. Companies usually ask for a sample article in which they can judge your writing capabilities. If you do manage to get accepted then you will be receiving a regular pay packet from the company, in which you will know how much you will receive each week. If you desire to create your own site then your money source will be through advertisements or sponsors. Do not expect this way to be a get rich quick scheme, it can take up to a year before you even start receiving a decent amount of money depending on your website traffic. if you would like tips on increasing website traffic then you can view this article here.

Making money through YouTube

If your interested in making videos and have some good camera equipment, good video editing software and good "in front of the camera" skills, then this really could be a great one for you. If you decide to open your own channel and work for yourself then again your money source will be through advertisements and sponsors. I will say however that you are likely to get noticed more quickly on YouTube. This is because YouTube has built in suggestions and a search functionality that has less potential results to search for than say, Google has to for web pages for instance. The money on YouTube can be great if you mange to hit it off big time by gathering a large audience. The large partners on YouTube earn so much that they can afford to buy a house and a top of the range sports car on their salary. The main problem with YouTube however is that the community is getting so overcrowded that it is becoming almost impossible for a new creator to make it big. I have found that its normally the people that have been on YouTube for over 5 years that are really well known, or someone that can inject allot of cash into the production of videos. This reason alone is why many "wanna be" creators join an already large channel by being hired by the original channel creator, you will get paid per month from the original creator for this if you manage to get accepted.

Making money through more technical careers online

This probably applies to allot less people, especially those who want to start right here and right now. However if you are prepared to take a college course or an apprenticeship then there are so many jobs that you can apply for that companies would be glad to have you on board, if, your are the sort of applicant that they are looking for. The jobs available are so vast and could be anything from a programmer to a website analyst. The job market is so vast in this particular section that it is impossible for me to give you even an estimate of how much you could earn.

In conclusion

Making money online is certainly possible. However, no matter what route you take your going to have to really work for it. In some cases you will have to work for it allot more than a regular "outside world" job. Your not going to get a great car and house within a few months !

That is the end of this article entitled "The truth about making money online", I hope that gave you some ideas and insight, comments are appreciated. have a great day.
