Budget for Wedding -plus Ideas
Save for a Wedding
Saving for a wedding may seem like a daunting task if you want a large wedding with all the extras, but there are many wedding ideas that can be done on a budget. Some families have set aside money for their daughter’s weddings and many couples start saving money when they decide to marry.
It is usually necessary to plan at least several months ahead to allow time to save enough money before the wedding. If you just start saving $50 per week it is wise to us a different savings account and the money will build up faster than you think. This might be a nice time to open a joint account. Ask your families if they can contribute and if so, how much.
Then, depending on the time frame you will know how much money you have to work with. Keep track of the money and any early expenditure in a notebook, such as a deposit on a place to hold the reception, so you will always be aware of how much money you have left.
Initially you must decide on a budget and stick with it. It will depend on what size wedding you want, where it will be located, and then you can decide how much money you will need for your dream wedding. Sit down together and make a list of all the expenditure you can think of and then you will start the long process of getting prices. Determine how many people you plan to invite. It is possible to have a memorable dream wedding with some good careful planning, and still cut costs by deciding your main priorities first.
How to Set a Wedding Budget
Many people make their own wedding invitations on the computer. Anyone with some computer skills can do this by just purchasing the blank invitations and envelopes. His will save you money
Outdoor weddings are typically cheaper, whether you use your parent’s or a friend’s back yard, a public park or the beach. Just remember if it is a city owned area, get permission. You do need a backup plan for bad weather.

Mpney and Bridal Gown
Weddings require a lot of planning along with the money. And even when you save exactly the amount you think you need, there are always some extra expenses you didn’t count on, so plan for those as well. Honeymoons are also expensive and by cutting some corners in your wedding you can have a wonderful honeymoon. Honeymoons make a wonderful lifetime memory with a great start to your marriage and are worth spending a little more money.
The bridal gown can be one of the more expensive items in your budget. Some ideas for budget wedding dresses may be to wear your mother’s dress, or you can buy a dress at a resale shop, check on Craig’s list or maybe from a friend. If you decide, for instance, to have an outdoor wedding, you may want to wear a non-white dress that goes along with the season but compliments your skin tone and hair. Pink is the second most popular color at this time. If you are having a beach wedding then you have more latitude in color and may even find the perfect dress on sale. If you know a good seamstress many people have their wedding dresses designed and made for them, which can be cheaper than buying one at a bridal shop. Veils have always been popular but some brides are not using them but replacing them with fresh flowers in their hair or a tiara.
Video and Pictures
You may also have someone in the family that is very good at being a cinematographer, as it is important to get your wedding on film even if it is a smaller ceremony. This is something you will treasure for years. If not, I would ask friends or someone in your church to try to find one at a good price. Another thing you can do for pictures is give all the guests a disposable camera and between them all you will have some great pictures. I attended a wedding where they did this and the results were wonderful
Help From Family and Friends
Families and friends can be very helpful in the planning and in some of the activities. As for the other expenses, some families are fortunate enough to have a pastry chef in the family and they might make and donate the wedding cake or even do some catering at a reduced rate. Deciding on how you want to handle the reception is important.
Receptions can be very simple with just cake, punch and some cute favors or you can choose to have a sit down dinner with dancing. If you want your reception catered, make sure you contact several caterers, comparing prices and menus. Try to get some names from friends that have been satisfied with the services of their caterer. If you have some musicians in the family background music is always lovely and if you want dancing then you will need to find a reasonably priced band, unless again you also have someone in the family or some friends that are in a band. If you want to serve alcohol, that will be costly.
The Bridal Bouquet is Very Important
Bridal Decorations with Flowers
Many brides and their bridesmaids get together and make the flowers to decorate the area or the church. Beautiful wedding decorations can be made with silk flowers. Flowers made for the bridesmaids and the bride to carry can also be made this way and that is a big money saver. Look for sales on nice silk flowers; use coupons from places like Michaels and Hobby Lobby and you can buy them slowly with the discounts. Then when you have all the flowers, have a girl party and put them all together. You can also make homemade wedding favors.
