Do you think life is not a bed of roses? Is this true for everybody or only for less privileged ?
We have all grown up hearing this phrase that, "life is not a bed of roses", but I think in today's world where the distribution of wealth is quite imbalanced, this phrase is true only for the less privileged people who are struggling all through their lives just to meet their basic needs......I will like to know my fellow hubbers opinions.Thanks.
Life is not a bed of roses for people who want to go further and achieve something that is not readily available for him/her. However, this is by default true for less privileged.
"Life is not a bed of roses" is a metaphoric saying to the expression "life isn't always fair."
I often find myself alone in this view, but I feel the "life isn't always fair" expression is greatly misunderstood. The expression doesn't mean you should cease to fight for a just and fair society; rather you don't always make it, it's the journey/thought that counts. I prefer to use this expression:
"Life isn't always fair, but we should try to make it as fair as possible."
Usually I get scoffed off as an entitled hippie socialist when I use that expression, so be warned, it's ineffective. Still, it's the truth. The snotty "life isn't always fair" attitude displayed by the likes of my generation and their boomer parents have led to the greatest display of apathy and laziness ever witnessed by human kind.
I absolutely HATE IT when people use the expression "life isn't always fair" when I actually try to DO SOMETHING. Hey, before you judge, why don't you get off your fat entitled arse?!
Life is what you make of it; however, some people start out at a huge disadvantage or encounter severe obstacles which hinder their ability to achieve. Life does appear to be fairer for some. The key, however, is to keep pushing, striving, expanding and driving.
I think life is what we opt to make it. That is not to say that we can have anything we want or be anything we want. It is to say that we can sit on our butts and complain that things never get any better while we exert no effort to make things any better. Contrary to popular belief, most people of fame and fortune did not get there overnight, nor did they achieve it without a lot of hard work and a lot of rejection. The difference is, they knew what the wanted and they wanted it badly enough to risk everything and to keep picking themselves up each time the world knocked them down. Ironically, after some of the achieved that long sought after success, they find they cannot handle it and their life falls into shambles. We make our choices and we elect to be happy...it's that simple. WB

Do you apologise to people, even if you are NOT in the wrong – just for peace sake?I do sometimes, to avoid any stress but I don’t want people thinking I’m a soft touch.
