I love, love, LOVE my freedom. Having debt would severely curtail anyone's freedom. That's a stress I couldn't tolerate.
Freedom and the possibility of spontaneity (i.e. travel, nights out, concerts, extravagant gifts for loved ones) means more to me, MUCH more, than having some possession.
When I really want something, I buy it, but I'd guess I'd say I lean more to being a miser.
Although I have several cars, one huge house and several rentals, all the goodies I want, I still have NO debt. If I can't afford to buy it outright, I don't want it. And, I am a teacher by trade, so earned it all myself, with realistic financial expectations.
