   Which is more safer, online banking on smartphones using apps or with your computers (PC)?
   
   Technology is synonymous with convenience and easy ways of living, but there are also risks involved. Like for when we talk about online banking. According to some researches, only 1 out of 5 Americans do online banking with their smartphones because most worry about online banking being safe.

   I really wish I knew the answer to this question.  Every time I get online, whether it is on computer or smartphone, I worry about safety.  With all the identity theft that is out there, I am not sure that either one of these devices are a safe way to do your banking anymore. 
   
   You are right, it is convenient and easy, however, that is true for us and the enemy.  I am not sure that the postal crisis is a forever thing.  Unless security for each of these devices becomes much stronger, it is a very real possibility that people will want to go back to mailing many of their personal things.

   They're both safe as long as you know what you're doing. However, I would say the computer is safer because you can have more protection from your anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares. I personally never had any problems with using online banking.

   Your online banking either through your computer or smartphone is equally secure and insecure depending on how you manage your information and what you do with your computer.  If you are the type of person who likes to download illegal content from non-secure sites, you open your computer to the possibility of downloading worms and key-tap programs which allows fraudsters to discover your information.
   
   Likewise, if you use an App, a lot of the time your user information is saved and if you have an easy to guess password, then anyone who picks up your phone or knows the mobile banking text information (saved in your contacts maybe?) can have access to your account information and balances.  Some banks are even piloting having your credit card linked to your smart phone so the check out worker will literally scan your phone's screen instead of having to carry a wallet.
   
   So it boils down to this:  Do you download illegal content and/or have a very good anti-virus anti hack program on your computer?  Do you have a password on your phone and do you save your info on your phone.
   
   If you are diligent in protecting your personal data, both mobile and app based banking can be very secure as can PC based banking.  However, we all need to be aware that ever day the fraudsters are getting smarter and smarter and the best defense against fraud is to change passwords frequently and to review your account information often.

   All my transactions are via my computer. Smartphone apps are not safe if the phone lost or stolen.

   think it depends on the data encryption used. so its not about the mode of data transmission like phone or pc that matters
