   Why do some people that have plenty of money feel so compelled to have more?
   
   I have often wondered why some people that have obviously got plenty of money have to have more money and more money. Surely there comes a time when enough money is simply enough money!

   It's because after you reach a certain point it's not about the "money" per se it becomes about (doing your best) or outdoing your previous year! Taking on a new challenge!
   This is the same mindset businesses have. No company wants to see their earnings go down from the previous year.
   Some people naturally strive to do the best they can while others are only too happy to settle once they reach a certain milestone.
   Not everyone is fueled with the same drive and ambition to constantly raise their game and compete with themselves and others around them.
   If asked: "Is this the best you can do?" and your answer is "yes" then you should be applauded no matter what that number is. However if you tell the world "no"; "I slacked off" or "I settled" you'll rarely hear any applause.
   Lastly if you LOVE what you do for a living there is no desire to QUIT.
   If you're not going to quit odds are you're not going to want to do less than what you did last year. For some people making money and closing deals is FUN! People cash out when it's no longer fun.
   Unfortunately for most people they don't do what they love for a living.

      This is very true and very well put too. I think I might have been one of these people once but not any more. I have learned that trying to beat my previous targets has kept me from my family and also that achievements don't have to be about money.

   Maybe it's because they spend more, or at least that is what I have noticed. The more money you have to spend the more you spend, and even though these people still have money, maybe they feel like they need to replenish what they spent, so they stay rich.

   We live in a culture where people believe that money buys happiness. When somebody has money and is still unhappy, they think they need more.

   It is the fact that they never want the money to disappear. Most people just can't imagine living without money. But, sometimes people do this because it makes them feel secure and like they are "worth something". It can be a selfish and greedy thing, but in the long-run they'll always have money in case of an emergency.

      I must be honest here, I'm sure most people would want to have a back plan regarding money in case of an emergency. I get the ''worth something'' and being secure, I can understand that. Thanks.
