Secondly, it's the same in this country. The average price for a rental in England (least it is where we live) is about £700 per month, which at today's rates is $1,092 US, yet the minimum wage here is just £5.93 per hour.
Based on a forty hour week, that's £1,027 per month before taxes and national insurance - about 30%, leaving just £719 per month or £19 for food, fares and anything else you can think of.
It's not unfair, it's criminal.
