Personaly I don't like them. They charge by the form and some preparer are better than others I guess that's true in anything though.
I would go to a local, and more private tax specialist, someone who has been doing it for a while in the area. My roommate worked for HnR last year, he told me about the "course" he took to become certified and how they mass-educate people just before the tax season to meet the demand, and many lesser-competent people tend to fall through the cracks. I wouldn't take the chance if I were you, it's better to pay the extra 20-30 bux for a well-known adjuster to insure that you don't get audited.
I did not like their service at all. The two times I have tried H&R Block were not good. The 1st time they just charged a lot of money. The 2nd time (different H&R block, different city) they were just rude and gave me bad advice.
Personally - I think turbotax is the best way to go even if you have a small business to take care of.
They have everything automated now and can pull down your W2 info from the Internet and login to your bank accounts and get 1099s.
It's just become so easy doing taxes this way I can't see myself even going back to a local tax preparer.
