Interview with Shafer in 2008

  1. Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a 19 year old college student— a Christian conservative who attended Messiah College (near Harrisburg, PA) for my first two years, but I am transferring to Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, FL. I have a deep passion for my Christian faith and politics, especially American elections.
  2. What brought you to HubPages? A couple friends of mine at Messiah (2 people with a love for politics) had joined HubPages and convinced me to do the same. I love to blog about politics.
  3. What do you like hubbing on, with respect to topics? Typically politics (especially the 2008 presidential election), but also some sports. I generally like to make predictions (on elections, sports games).
  4. What has been your best Hub so far (in your opinion)? Why?I'd actually say that my best Hub so far is one that is not overtly political. I did a special tribute to the life and legacy of Tim Russert upon his recent death.
  5. What is your favorite Hub by another Hubber? Why? Probably one by a friend of mine (ModernPublius) about the Sen. Joe Lieberman endorsement of John McCain ... very good look at the character of John McCain and the positive reform he can bring to America as its 44th President.
  6. What is one nice thing about HubPages (the site) that many might not know? You can make up web videos and put them on your site as a substitutefor a typed article.
  7. Name one thing you learned about from another Hubber's Hub that you didn't know about before. I learned a lot about the relationship between Christian faith andimagination from one of College Politico's Hubs.
  8. What kind of Hubber do you typically join the Fan Club of? Why? I don't have a particular "kind" of Hubber... Probably one whodiscusses politics, whether they agree with me or not OR someone who comments on my Hubs (so I can get into a conversation/discussion with him or her).
  9. If you could impart one piece of advice to a new Hubber, what would that be? Be fair to all people in your Hubs. Don't write something unless youcan back it up.
  10. Tell us something that we'd never guess about you - surprise us! I graduated from high school with only 5 people in my class.
