Interview with foxility

  1. Welcome foxility. Thanks for joining us today. What was it like for you growing up?
Well, I was born in one of Mexico's most corrupted and notorious city, Tijuana. I am proud of it... I love the city and growing up my family concealed the ugly side of the city from us kids as much as they could. My family later moved us to the States. We went from Tijuana to Arizona, Texas, and California. We lived with money and later lost everything. I wouldn't call my upbringing normal, but I don't think anybody would. It was adventurous and I wouldn't change it.
  2. How did you concieve of "Diary of Lola the Mexican" and who is Lola?
I have a sort of alter-ego called Lola. I came up with Lola after I moved to a very conservative town in the Northeast part of the States. This place is completely different than I am, so in order to fit in I had to invent a more composed character. I told my husband that I was now Lola and so I write about my life but through Lola's serene mind.
  3. How would you compare a film or TV actor to a police detective?
Lol... that's funny. Actually I don't think they are comparable. They are two completely different jobs but for some reason they both attract me. Although, there are many actors who play detectives, like the sexy Mariska Hargitay.
  4. Ok, I can understand the mask. What's with the gloves?
Hey! Don't judge me... I like gloves.
  5. What do you do when you want to do something really exciting?
It actually might not sound that exciting but I like to talk to strangers. Asking strangers private questions is exciting to me. People are usually very open.
  6. Speaking as a white guy with glasses, I have to say that you look marvelous. I understand that you probably do a lot of crunches, I mean A LOT, but what other exercises do you do to stay in such excellent shape?
Actually I was blessed with good pair of genes. I do run, even though I hate it, and I weight-lift... nothing special. Of course, those crunches do help... A LOT!
  7. What do you do for work?
I actually rather not say exactly what I do... but I will say I work in the media.
  8. What's better in Mexico than in the United States?
I tell American's that culture is absent in many places of America. There seems to be some substance missing that's hard to explain. I mean... even in Tijuana, with all its negativity, has old and new culture, art, tradition spread all over the city... in fact it's kinda hard to get away from it. Where in America, I like to say, it's distant. What I mean is, it's there but you have to go get it. It's not readily open to everybody because it's only in certain places and sometimes to certain people. I don't think it's American's fault though I believe it's because America is a fairly new culture. Where Mexico's culture was determined far beyond America's, and now I am just blabbering so I'll just say Mexican food is a lot better in Mexico than in America.
  9. What is the best brand of tequila, and why?
Well, it's like asking someone what the best Wine is... it depends on your taste. I suggest the one that goes down well, the one that fulfills your desire for good taste and aroma. So, try different kinds, go to a Tequila tasting party and treat it with warmth and not like your trying to get a disgusting pill down your throat as fast as possible. I will say though, many people like Patron.
  10. What is the best mixer to use with tequila?
Mixer? Are you crazy? I have never used a mixer. Just get some frozen strawberries, ice, frozen lemonade drink, Cuervo Tequila, Triple Sec and let's party.
