Interview with soni2006

1. Hi! Soni2006, I appreciate your willingness to allow me to interview you for the HubPages.com Weekly Newsletter. Thank you so much.Before we get started, you mention on your website that you are using Google Adsense? I am still trying, can you tell me about how long it took you to get accepted onto Adsense?
   Thanks Deborah-Lynn. I love this question. I signed up for adsense in October 2006 when I published first two posts on blogger and then applied for adsense. It took me only 24 hours to get accepted in google adsense at that time. I got the mail next day of signing up that your application has been approved by google adsense.
2. OBVIOUSLY, I HAVE NOT READ ALL 250 of your Hub, yet, how did you accomplish this many Hubs in 2 years? I have read several of your latest works and I would like you to give us some advice on how you come up with new Hub ideas now?
   When I joined hubpages two years ago, I had very little idea what content writing and search engine optimization was but I was really positive about hubpages because before joining, I had gone through all the details in help and guide sections of hubpages. Forum was the best thing, which made me more positive about hubpages at that time, so I started with my first hub on hubpages, Earn money blogging on blogger, and then answered some requests and after that I became an addict and there was no looking back.
   I get new ideas on creating hubs from everywhere including hubpages and google, but when my mind gets saturated and I do not have any clue what to do, I use to get some ideas from my medical transcription profession. While I am editing medical documents. I pick up a medical word, which is not very difficult for a layman, and if I have good amount of information on that, I write something on that and you can see I have created some hubs using these medical words as my guide. Thanks to my profession.
3. ou appear to me to be the type of person who is an encourager. Is this your typical personality in your homelife?
   Yes at my home, I encourage my wife a lot to learn new things. She is a very good listener and my best guide. I also share my ideas with her on different types of topics on which I can write for example childcare and parenting and how to prepare different types of new recipes, which are not boring. Right now, our lovable daughter, Shronika Soni, is too small so my wife is not working and I have encouraged her about hubpages and she will join me soon at hubpages as soon as our baby will join play school.
4. Tell us please, do you still live in New Delhi, India, and if you do, what is it like to live in your country? What is the weather like, do you have four seasons?
   Yes, I still live in New Delhi, India and I have been living at the same place since my birth and I love living here. India is a big country with different types of people living in it and all are living together for many centuries, so the Indian culture is a bit different from rest of the world. We have many festivals and everyone enjoys and shares their joys and sorrows. People are cooperative but a bit emotional and sensitive but they have big hearts.
   Now talking about the seasons, yes traditionally we have prominent four but all together six seasons, which are spring season, summer season, monsoon season, early autumn, late autumn, and winter but according to recent studies, we have only 3 prominent seasons and they are summer, rainy season, and winter. Summer lasts from early March to late June whereas the rainy season is from late June to late October and winter remains in our country from late October to March. Right now, it is raining a lot as it is rainy season and I am filled with new ideas to write my new hubs because I love nature.
5. Your English is so good, where were you educated? Do you write books professionally?
   Thanks for the appreciation. My English is good and I give the credit of this to my father who being an ordinary businessman completed my education successfully in a prominent convent school in Delhi. Another factor for my improved English is my profession as a proofreader and editor of medical documents where we have to check the documents minutely for grammar, punctuation, and spellings. I have been working in the same industry for last 10 years.
   Regarding writing books, no, I do not write books professionally, but yes I have read a lot of English books in my lifetime, which have provided me with this wealth of knowledge, which I am sharing at hubpages.
6. Everywhere I read your blogs and Hubs, you always tell people to join HubPages.Com. After being a member of the HubPages community for two years, are you still feeling as enthusiastic about HubPages an the potential they offer writers? Why?
   Yes, I always tell people to join hubpages and I have even encouraged many of my colleagues and close friends and relatives to do the same by showing them my work. Some of them got quite impressed and have joined also but we cannot force everyone to do something. We can just show them the way and it is their own wish. Another two points are area of interest and time constraints. Time constraints can be handled but the person is interested or not is a big question.
   After being a member of the HubPages community for two years, I am feeling much more enthusiastic about HubPages because the articles which I have written are visited, rated, and commented by a variety of great article writers, some of them have experience of may be 10 to 15 years in this field and I get a large number of visitors, some of them loyal and some of them unique. Where I will get this type of exposure? A simple article I write here hits the search engines in minutes. Is it possible anywhere else? Yes, I know it is possible if you are working for other adsense sharing websites but there are many more plus points attached with hubpages for example, the director of hubpages and staff who are very helpful. One more point to add is that why these great writers who have more than 20 or 25 years of experience join hubpages and why not they publish their articles on their own site? According to me it is because of one single reason, the EXPOSURE they are getting here, so the more exposure to their writing or hubs, the more visitors, the more visitors will bring more money, so the next thing which comes to mind after my full-time job is just hubpages and why not I write for hubpages? You know the world is made up of people who have different thinking patterns. When I started at hubpages, many of my friends and colleagues discouraged me and told me that you will not make a single penny from internet. It is all waste of time and nothing else. If you want to earn some extra money, then do some home transcription and you will earn much more from that but I ignored and now I am earning a decent income over here. Now the friends who were opposing me 1 to 2 years back are on their own saying to me that, "soni, yes you are heading towards creating a nice income plan from your online work and it will also work as your pension plan." Why they are saying this thing is because the money they earn from work at home transcription is there up until the time they are doing that work but the income from hubpages for me is for unlimited time because my hubs will be there and I will continue to receive money from adsense and other sites.
7. You have 466 FANS!!! Wow, my Goodness! How did you go about attracting so many admirers? Can anyone accomplish this?
   Yes everyone can accomplish this but you have to be serious about your writing first. Write good hubs and you will get a good numbers of admirers and fans. These admirers are not attracted by anything else but your expertise in writing.
8. You like to write about making money through Hubs and Blogs, and affiliate advertizers, are you hoping that others from New Delhi will get interested in an income like yours?
   People in New Delhi are not only interested but many of them have joined hubpages. For example, I have 3 colleagues who sit by my side in my office and they have joined hubpages. Three more friends including a person who is a DJ has also joined just a month back. Whenever I publish new hubs and email them, I get replies back from many content writers living in Delhi and NCR who are really interested in joining hubpages and I send them my link.
9. What would you like to say to help all your many Fans keep on going with their writing and creating more interesting Hubs for HubPages.com?
   I would just like to say to my fans that, "Write on whatever you are interested in and give it your best when writing it down". Whenever you publish new hubs, just share them with your friends via email, facebook, twitter, etc. Do not feel shy that they will laugh on that. Knowledge increases when it is shared. A person becomes perfect with experience and positive thinking and not by sitting behind keeping one hand on the other hand. Who knows a day will come when a person who joined as a beginner becomes an outstanding writer.
10. Soni, can you give us a few ideas that you have for New Hubs in your areas of expertise that you are planning? Also, are you getting involved in the 30 HUBS in 30 days challenge?
    I will keep on writing hubs on bodybuilding and Indian car reviews and sometimes I write on random topics, which hit my head, so I also do not know about them that what they will be. These ideas are sometimes triggered by watching a new movie or meeting a different person or something else, but when these ideas hit my mind and I know I have something plenty to share, I give it a go.
    No I am very sorry to say that I am not involved in 30 hubs in 30 days challenge because of lack of time but I am very enthusiastic about it and will get involved in the coming months.
11. You always write your Hubs as if you were writing to help your best friend. Do you have many friends and how many of them are Hubbers now?
    es I have many friends from different fields of life. For example in my office, I have around 10 to 15 friends and two of them are very close to me. At home in my neighborhood, I have a big group of friends. Another group of friends is from my school time who are also living nearby to me. Except these, I have a lot of online friends.
    Out of this huge friend list, many of them are hubbers naming some of them by hubpages username: Sangeetjass, naresh_19812000, amit luthra, pankaj3625, princeland, veena0606, subhasmittra, and many more.
