7 Things I Loathe About Crowds of High-Class People

High-class men seemingly just have to smoke cigars that cost forty-bucks to impress people like myself
High-class men seemingly just have to smoke cigars that cost forty-bucks to impress people like myself

WHY?

Do you have to smoke that awful-smelling cigar that cost you forty-bucks? Did some secret cosmic power whisper in your silver-lined ear to get that "log of tobacco" out and show me how important you are? I need to know this. Are you really that arrogant? Now you can smoke yourself into the Abysss for you are too high in society to be told that smoking tobacco kills people by the thousands.

Oh, I had best be quiet or those minimum-wage goons in black tux's over there will charge this way and toss me to the curb. Fine. I've been there before and let me tell you, the rats and vermin were more friendly than you are.

And since your fat body was earned through cheating people out of money gives you the right to talk down tot them?
And since your fat body was earned through cheating people out of money gives you the right to talk down tot them?

UPPITY-PEOPLE USED TO FASCINATE ME

Not anymore. The only rich person I really adore is Abraham of the Bible, who was called "a friend of God," and the Bible says that Abraham "was very rich," but nowhere in the Holy Scriptures does it say that he ever flaunted his wealth. Or talked down to his thousands of servants who took great care of him and wife, Sarah. Why can't the majority of wealthy, privileged people be this way today?

I am not condemning riches by any means. Just the opaque attitude that most rich people project. "Sure, I will help you with that charity," they are trained to say, but never show-up or give a penny and always give that cover-all excuse: "Oh, I forgot." Sure.

Yep. You are wealthy alright. Your jewels and poodle are dead give-aways of that fact

I have this nightmare

that comes often, where I have been invited to a high-class party on the Lower East Side in New York City where anyone who's anyone will be there. Heiresses; Authors; Lawyers of wealth and investments; Film stars and people so uppity, that they pay someone to talk for them.

But miracles do happen. Even to me. I am standing with a group of people I do not like nor do I care if they know it. One of these wealthy-ites, with tribes of their own, must have made a mistake due to his imported water he is sipping from a crystal glass, and asks me a question. Before words can form on my tongue, some other rich jackass-acting interrupts simply because of his wealth and power.

This is why I named this hub:

7 Things I Loathe About Crowds of High-Class People

Russell Brand, comic, (back turned) is the toast of talk shows due to his profane mouth sometimes. And he is wealthy too

Yeah, you are right to interrupt me when I was asked a question due to the fact that you live a pampered life

7.) HOW YOU WEALTHY PEOPLE

ignore people of my stature in the middle class. And you do this openly. You only respect those of your own wealthy circle. And to heck with the rest of us Americans. I wonder if any of you even care why us lower-class of people do not want to be near you.

6.) HOW YOU FLAUNT YOUR RICHES

Such as the person at the top with his forty-buck cigar. Was it necessary to the progression of this party for him to whip this thing out and light it? I think not. Second-hand smoke kills thousands of people while smoking cigars this big kill the smoker.

5.) YOU NEVER CONSIDER THE PLIGHT OF OTHERS

Do you? But if you get free publicity for your family or factory, you are always there posing for the cameras and blinded-writers who say how soft-hearted you are toward the homeless and jobless. Oh yeah. I see the compassion just rolling off your jewels and poodles.

4.) AT CHARITY FUND-RAISERS

do you really have to be up-front when the news crews film the event? That fact always torqued me to the bone. Would it really hurt you for once to stand in the back and let some of your other wealthy upper-class stand in front?

3.) YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE AHEAD

of us at concerts, restaurants and other places where "we" middle class citizens have to pay for our admission price. But not you. You just show-up and your driver opens the door of your limo and out you step looking so important and smug. The manager of said establishment pushes "us" aside just for you. Now don't you feel so powerful and mighty?

2.) YOU WEALTHY AND POWERFUL ARE ALWAYS

upset when you are not on the covers of some popular magazine or on the front-page of some powerful newspaper. Why? What did you do but get out of bed today and that gives you the right for such publicity? What about the medical science research teams working on a cure for cancer, A.I.D.S. and other diseases? They are the ones who deserve the publicity. Not you.

1.) WHAT, I WONDER, MAKES YOU BETTER

than us lower-class citizens? Just tell me in your own words. You are like us in the fact that you use the bathroom just like us. You are flesh and blood and far from immortal. So now that I have helped you, please answer us.

And have lots of fun at your party.

As I was reading your hub I did find it enteresting that these type of people exist.

if they did not have their wealth , it is possible they would have a different view of life and how they treat fellow humans.

But I must say people with no money can have a snobby attitude towards others as well and will not show curtursy and manors. sad but very true we live these realities.

Sad fact, where there is manure there is muck, Lord and Lady Muck:)

Love them or hate them, what would we do without them?

Kissand Tales,

I agree with you. It is just from a one-on-crowd viewpoint as I have had in the near past, I am without anything to contribute even to a conversation that (rarely) includes my friends and myself.

Reality is a harsh teacher and I learn.

Thanks for stopping by and come back anytime.

Hi, sallybea,

Did you just create that 'manure and muck' line? I loved it.

Yes, we live among these people. Well I do only at certain occasions and those I guess I could give up for Lent.

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate your participation.

Hello,

No, I just embellished it a little, my mother loved to say, 'where there is muck there is manure' - such fine English expression

sallybea,

Hi,

At any rate, I liked it. Plus, I agree with it too.

Thanks again for your nice comment. Have a safe night.

Gotta say I agree with this hub.

Hi, vkwok,

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Me? I don't really care how much a person gets as long as they get it honestly, and treated equally as the rest of us. But the arrogance gets me fired-up in a hurry.

Kenneth,

Oh my gosh... I love this! haha My thoughts exactly.

I can not handle these types of people for too long. If I am around them for a bit, sarcastic remarks start to come out of my mouth and they will leave anyway. I don't say anything rude of course, but I do speak my mind. :) thanks so much for this hub!

Dearest Dawn,

You are my type of girl. Hardly anyone I know feels like I do. But I do not blame these upper-crust people. But the very least they could do is not wear-out their noses looking down at me and my friends.

Come back anytime, Dawn.

Yay! I made the top! The upper-crust people with their hand bags and expensive noses looking down on us! ha-ha :)

Sometimes they can't help the way they are though. Well most of the time. This is in how they are raised. Uh oh, sounds like a good hub topic.

I'll stop by again soon. Thanks, Dawn

Dear Dawn,

Great news that you made it to the top. How is the view?

Seriously, you are right. And yes, this is a good topic for a hub. Why don't you write it?

And do stop by again and again.

Dear Dawn,

Of the two of us, I prefer you, my laid-back, super-hilarious friend to succeed to the top. Then I will follow you. I am comfortable with that.

It is Monday and I am tired. Taking a break from building birdhouses and I do not have a fan or air conditioning in my shop.

Ahhhh, pioneer days.

Have a safe day, Dawn and laugh during the day.

aw thanks, friend! Ya know, it's a kind of "sleepy" Monday for me too. Maybe I should rest during the weekend?.....Uh, nah! Always laugh and you also have a great Monday!

Dear Dawn,

You are so welcome. Glad to have you in my life. Now to tell you what a day I had. I worked, and I mean manual labor, building birdhouses in my shop today and I am spent. It is hot in my shop and I do not have a fan or air conditioning due to lack of funds.

At early evening, I gave it up and went home, where I am at now.

As for resting on weekends, think about it carefully before you commit to it.

I am glad that Monday is over. But also glad to read YOUR note. You always cheer me up, Dawn.

Come back to visit me anytime.
