A "Shovel Ready" Speech

Stop Digging Obama!

Begging For 4 More?

Last night's acceptance speech was one of those shovel ready moments before it even began. There was no explanation about all the broken promises he made to lure the unsuspecting in in 2008. There were just more promises. He tells the nation that he was elected to tell us the truth and has failed to do so. Instead he has said one thing and done the opposite. I shouldn't have to get specific on that statement because hopefully you've been paying attention.

Obama has a tendency to give a terrific speech full of nothings. His dilemma this time around was having to follow on the heels of Billy Bob Joe Ray Clinton. Clinton let us all know one more time about what "he" accomplished and in comparison to Barack Hussein Obama that is a glowing report card. All the hype leading up to Obama's speech about how loaded with specifics it was going to be fell flat. It was a safe speech. It was a speech that was a combination of his recycled State of the Union speeches. He repeated all those same empty promises again just with different window dressing on them. If he was trying to convince the undecided voters he may have done just that. Many voted from him based upon the same schtick he promoted last night. Now the question will be, "Are they stupid enough to bite that empty hook again?"

Same Old Same Old...

Why did Obama fail to address the fact that we have not operated on a budget since his inauguration? How did it escape him that any budget he submitted did not receive one vote in favor of his proposal? Or why didn't he mention that the Democratically controlled US Senate has failed to pass a budget, or even propose one, because it doesn't feel we need one. We've only added over $5.5 trillion under Team Obama so what the hell huh? What was his plan to cut the federal budget in half this time around? He doesn't have one because he doesn't have a clue and is the leader of the Tax & Spend Party.

What we heard again last night was what we had heard before in various other versions. More promises but ask yourself this? Are you going to accept more promises from a man who failed to deliver on the majority of his priomises that sucked you into voting for him in the first place? If so, what I am hearing you say is that you are willing to vote for more failure. Obama has failed to deliver. He is an empty suit and as Clint Eastwood pointed on has been absent from the leadership chair. Maybe you didn't understand what Clint was talking about but then again maybe you weren't really listening.

Heard It Before?

His mantra has been "I'm not going to make any excuses" but he has done nothing but that about his failure to lead. It still is only now, as usual, it will be anybody and everybody's fault but Barack Obama's. Just look at the mess he is going to inherit if he is reelected!

Why didn't he address what he considers to be his crowning achievement, the piece of unpopular legislation that bears his name - Obamacare? Absent also was his rhetoric about how successful the Stimulus Plan was? Or how is it that stimulus money was funneled to failing green energy companies as pay back for campaign contributions? We term that crony capitalism which is the only type of capitalism Obama likes. No mention of Solyndra or the other green companies that we helped finance into the federal bankruptcy courts. Why not? Does he think that we've forgotten about all of that? Maybe the coming debates will sharpen up his memory a bit on his incompetence as a leader.

The "Shovel Ready" Administration

No more excuses Barack Hussein Obama. You aren't Presidential timber son. You are but a twig when it comes to actual, productive leadership. Leaders lead from the front, not from behind. They do more than give fiery speeches delivered via a teleprompter.

No More Excuses...

I do believe that "the thrill is gone." Maybe Chrissy Matthews still gets that tingle up his leg every time Obama does the Oblabber Mouth but there was really nothing new in last night's rhetoric. He might have fired up the koolaid slurpers in the Charlotte arena but those are the stone cold koolaid heads of the progressive movement. A lot about class warfare for the last three days but light on substance. Took God and Jerusalem out of the platform and then quickly put it back when the Panderer-In-Chief realized the seriousness of that gaffe. Despite what Axelrod said before their party had its day about not being divided, there it was for all to see. There is indeed division within the Democratic Party. It's time that many Democrats realize that progressives have hijacked your party and the real course they want to steer it on.

Sad but true. I was initially a Democrat until I caught on and it didn't take long. Now I'm one of those Independent voters that like to be the deciders of elections. Next up are the dabates. Last night he recycled his "goals" without specific details about the "how to" we thought we were to hear.

Remember In November!

November is all about making a choice. Are you going to support a huge federal government advocated by a party that believes that the government owns the people and forget about We, the People owning this nation? That's one choice. Or are you going to vote for continuing the progress we made in 2010? That process involves changing many faces in politics to rid ourselves of those who are on Capitol Hill to serve themselves and not the people. This is about having a limited federal government called for in the US Constitution and exercising fiscal responsibility. That is not a vision shared by Barack Hussein Obama. He is now a large part of the problem and has no solutions.

His record speaks for itself. Or maybe his lack of having one speaks louder?

As Always,

The Frog Prince

Great hub. Yes his record speaks for itself. He accomplished zero and what he did do was against the wishes of a majority of the American people. I think they should move up the election. This process is too painful. Up and awesome.

When, if ever, will the light on his halo start to dim. It is amazing that his crowd of loyal followers pay no attention to facts and results? They will continue to support his failure until the implosion happens, and then will blame Bush.

The guy is an artist at talking all around issues, and people actually hear and believe things he doesn't say. It will be interesting to see what the history books have to say about this President.

Right down the line, TFP. The bunch in Charlotte looked as if they were attending a tent revival and the Lord showed up...unexpectedly. How sad that some view a sheepherder as a leader. How sad that they cannot see through his disguise and realize the real agenda he has for our nation. Of couse, Moochelle was there in the audience with her arms flopping around in applause looking much like a seal at the zoo wanting just one more fish. Someone at the White House needs to teach this woman proper applause technique. The wire is up around the gulags now so an election may not be enough to bid this guy farewell...he may have yet another plan. "I just need more time, Vladamir. I"ll have more flexibility after the election." Never forget those words spoken off record. ~WB

Just to add a tad more perspective here....that bunch on the floor in Charlotte would still vote for either Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter. Is that revealing enough as to why they blindly follow Obama? They have no clue that the socialist have stolen the Democrat Party and they hav welcomed them with open arms all in the name of entitlement. Bought and sold like sheep. ~WB

Wayne - Amazingly Clinton has become the Democratic Moses. You and I lived through that experience. He's a liar, a cheat and a sneak but that was okay at the time he was elected and seems even more intense now. It is also forgotten that in 1994 the electorate spoke to reel in his recklessness and gave him a Republican Congress to control the purse strings. Deja Vu to 2010. Clinton got it. Obama missed it.

Win or lose, Republicans will never feel as proud of their party and candidate as Democrats do of theirs. Many Republican votes will be fueled by fear, hate and intolerance, but most of the Democrats' votes will be enkindled by hope and faith in the decency of the American people.

In a way the problem is that the financial number speak against the president but so many of us don't understand or care about numbers. As on of my math teachers told us, he can prove either side of an argument with statistics. I think a lot of people are disillusioned by the president. I hope it is enough. Keep up your good work.

I agree.

What would it take to have the blind loyal democrat voters to see the country today?

Also the democrats talk about women's rights, and how the republicans want to take away their rights. Yet, they used Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy as their anchors in the DNC.

How are these two democrats a symbol for women's right.

Clinton gets impeached for playing with women, and Kennedy is responsible for the death of a women.

Stu 4 years ago

Frog - no surprise; Oblabber can't stick to the issues when his record is so bad, so as usual, he must talk "around" them (deflect).

Whimsy - Democratic voters are not proud of their party, except for the radical wing (special interests like LGBT's, labor, environmentalists, etc.). Most Democratic voters are simply terrified of reductions in entitlements, and believe (falsely) that the RINO infested GOP will move quickly to reduce unfunded benefit liabilities under SS/Medicare/Medicaid ($60 trillion and rising fast) via Congressional action (more means testing, and deep benefit formula cuts). Both parties will wait till we're right at the edge of the cliff, and then in a panic either cut the benefits or beg the Federal Reserve for fiat cash (the latter will cause hyperinflation, wipe out most peoples' savings, lead to a dollar collapse, and cause a depression).

It's kind of like this--I once saw an interview with Kenny Rogers. He was asked if he ever gets tired of performing "The Gambler", because obviously as you can imagine, Kenny Rogers has performed "The Gambler" THOUSANDS of times. His answer?-- "Absolutely not, I wouldn't dream of doing a show without doing "The Gambler" for the folks". Well, it's kind of that with Barack Obama. You know you're going hear the same old song AGAIN, because like "The Gambler" it has become his trademark and he wouldn't dream of putting on a show without doing it for you. The problem is that Obama really IS The Gambler and the tunes he's singing are what is so harmful to our country, and he plans to just recycle the same stuff over and over again until we're maybe 20 trillion in debt and 40 million people are out of work.

Now the jobs report is out and it's a disaster! It dropped to 8.1%, not because more are working, but because more have given up looking for work! We are now at the lowest worker participation since WWII!

No one can spin this as good news any longer. It's a disaster.

It seems to me that Obama is certain of two things out there which he keeps bringing up....there are "shovel-ready jobs"....it is important that the shovel already be in place. The fact that he insinuates the use of a shovel implies that his vision for your future employment will not be on a high plain. The second is all the crumbling roads and bridges that he envisions. Apparently everyone is qualified to do road and bridge work. Seems to me we pay a hell of lot of highway taxes for the priviledge of using them yet his folks want to claim that if you built a business you did it shipping your products to market on "our" roads. What about the highway taxes that you paid? There is nothing logical in his thought processes that allow one to add 2 plus 2 and get four. Besides, he does not want you adding and subtracting anyway. You don't need those skills to run a shovel. ~WB

What's sad (even more sad than this Obama speech) is that Obama got a convention bump in Gallup beyond the margin of error. That tells me our electorate has not gotten enough of this failed presidency and his failed socialist polices. That tells me there is a better than 50% chance this rank amateur will be reelected. We had horrible job numbers come out this morning. There are almost 90 million people out of the work force in this country. These numbers are unprecedented. Yet, we have double digit IQ voters who want more Obama and his brand of Socialism. When did this country become a bunch of masochists? It's disheartening to me to see what this country has become in 4 short years. We will not recover if Obama is reelected, people.

Sir Frog, thumbs up for another one knocked out of the park. He has failed on every promise ever made. You covered the big stuffs but I would like to add another tidbit to the growing refuse heap of broken promises and F you's to the American people. My dear hubby told me of a report he heard yesterday talking about all the people that slaved, for free, working for this man just to get to go to the convention and see him. According to the old man, the report stated that there was even a youth program. The man used unpaid child labor and then left the children hanging with broken promises! Not a one got to go. Not one. Screwing all of us is bad, screwing little kids is purely evil and then he has the unmitigated gall to stand up there and talk about disabled children as if he cares? PLEASE!

We all want a smarter more effective government. Unfortunately, both Democrats and Republicans view party partisanship as the road to get there. It won’t change until they become smart enough to recognize that the road they tread leads them away from "Smarter more effective".

We can help by constantly voting them out, but more is needed to get us to a representative government rather than a partisan government.

Another one "outta the park" Froggy!

There are so many things that could be said here but I would be singing to the choir. I get to the hub late and find all my ideas have been expressed already.

For the longest time I was a, "If you convince me you can do the job, you have my vote" kinda guy. Party meant very little to me. I had to change that with Carter in '76. Much like '08 there wasn't much of a choice. There is a clear choice this November and I am having a really hard time understanding what the average 18 year old thinks about Oblame-o. I was 19 in 1964 and still had the visions of Dallas running through my head. Thank God the 18 year olds couldn't vote for another 7 years. Heaven knows a smooth talker like Barry would have us speaking Arabic by now.

My point?

Sure could have used a Frog to clear up the fog back then!

Boy we're in trouble here, but the good news here is that I doubt he'll be reelected! I don't believe the polls accurately reflect what the poeple will do, many won't say what they think for fear of being called a racist! He's going to lose votes in almost every demographic area, he's not going to get reelected with over 8% unemployment.

As disgusting as Clinton is, he was Impeached for Lying under Oath. I pray that everyone who lost a job will vote the bum out of office. Those who were downsized in job should also vote Obama out of office. Will they connect the dots? I was debating with some of my hubby's FB friends about job loss. One particular cool aid drinkers didn't see it, which is what prompted me to jump in. I told her that my husband's employer of 17 years laid off 2/3 of their company, and my husband was the sacred cow with the encyclopedia like knowledge of how to build tanks, state codes, and such. I told her about all the different businesses that failed or hugely downsized due to Obama his gulf oil criminal policies / actions. It went right over her head. She said his speech was brilliant. My new Frog Prince Friend: That has amazed me for years. "Women's Rights" was a bunch of BS perpetrated by progressives before they called themselves that (well long after they called themselves that too LOL). "Women's Rights" has stood for the right to belittle the idea of men, and the right to be skanky and still call yourself a proud woman . . . need I say more? Call it the downgrading of what God created me to be. Because so many men abused women (and so many didn't), they could drive their numbers up quickly. They don't really stand for anything womanly. No wonder many men have become disenchanted with women.

I wrote a piece in my 20's that basically said I wanted to be Scarlet and Melanie (Gone With the Wind), two different kinds of strength.

I am the woman that doesn't fit in. When I figured out that I wanted to know why I allowed men to abuse me, even though I was a good wife, great mom, fabulous bread-winner and home-maker, I realize now that I am largely alone in this. I did figure it out (carried from childhood), I changed my life - WOW - I should have known. I read Atlas Shrugged when I was 18 or 19 (and have read it about every 7 years to feel good since). Anyway, I learned why I did what I did, I picked a role model, and I changed my life. I used Dagny as my ideal. I had the career of my dreams (as long as I was the breadwinner, I might as well dream up the perfect career for me - but, at 19 I wanted to be a farmer's wife and have ten kids.) Better than that, I have had the marriage of everyone's and MY dreams for 16 years. People see me as uber-capable. (I am now disabled - a hard reconciliation - but that is a different discussion.) The thing is that I can reconcile my faith and Atlas Shrugged successfully, and I have lived it. I was never the classic victim, even before I changed my life. And in politics, I always voted for conservative values from day one.

SO HERE IS THE RUB. All of these women the Lord has put in my path who are victims / always liberal . . . they want to be me - they want to change - I give the benefit of my knowledge only when asked (in other words do not push my idea / ideals on them) - and when they try to change for themselves, they work on it for awhile, and never change. They want to, but they don't. They say it is too hard being a woman, too hard to change. I am at a total loss. I know I told them that they are equal to men and the Bible says so. BUT, God made us different because He wanted us to fill different roles, and those roles complement each other. When a man and a woman fulfill those Godly roles with love and understanding and teamwork, life is AWESOME. Now that is something for a woman's movement! I also told them what Galt said about your partner - being your highest ideal of yourself - now that should scare everyone out of being attracted to being a victim or a whore.

So if you understand women better than I do, more power to you. I don't get it. Why wouldn't the abused want to become un-abused / if you can answer that, you will know why they flock to Clinton and Obama for it is the same mindset.

With regard to WoW's comments, I fail to see the basis of your claim that a vote against Obama is fueled by hatred. Quite the contrary, it is fueled by an urgent sense of survival for our nation. His background and his actions all spell his intent...one only has to look. As for the shovel ready jobs which he keeps harping about in terms of the crumbling infrastructure of the country, it might be enlightening for Obama to know that we all do not work in the construction business. His push in this area signifies that he is hypocritcal in his economic beliefs as the only way this can actually stimulate the economy on a broad scale basis is for "trickle-down" economics to come heavily into play allowing those dollars spent on the projects and the wages earned from them to pass into other hands in the economy. Time and time again the Dems have claimed that Reagan's approach to trickle down just does not work. Time and time again their claim says the man who won the construction project keeps most of the money thus the impact on the enviroment with regard to jobs and economic stimulus is minimal....so now, I suppose the Dems see it as workable if it benefits them. There is a very easy way to create "shovel ready" jobs quickly and that is to get off the backs of the private sector with big government threats and over-regulation. Instead, Obama just continues to create more of the same with his executive order to work federal agencies in tandem on our power grids regulation. The result will increase costs all the way down to the consumer level further depressing our confidence and our economy. This stuff is no accident nor is it blind stabs in the dark by the ignorant. No, it is very well calculated and purposely designed to chain up the private sector, continue the financial spiral and grow the government even larger and more powerful with each move. A blind man can sense that. Those of us who have vision and are able to hear should be able to reason all this out and see that Obama has no good intentions for this country....period stop. ~WB
