The Final Farewell: a Tribute to Our Fallen Soldiers
A Final Farewell to The Fallen of Fort Hood
The courage and honor you showed as you valiently protected our country,
Just knowing you were there I was able to sleep in peace.
You left your loved ones waiting with tear stained faces and cheeks,
praying that you would return safely home after completing your tour of duty.
Letters, pictures, and boxes filled with love and care,
reminders of home we sent to you the time that you were over there.
In the mist of all the danger you kept your honor inside your heart,
watching as your friends died or were blown apart.
Then the happy day arrived when you were finally home,
We thought it was okay now that you weren't gone.
They stationed you at Fort Hood we knew that you were safe ,
This was your home, American soil, an American base.
Then the unthinkable happened, they called and told us you were gone,
Our hearts filled with fear once again we were left alone.
Evil came in the night and not caring took your lives,
leaving us behind, mothers, fathers, children and wives.
Now draped with the flag you loved so much, we struggle to say goodbye,
Tears again stain our faces, all thats left to do is cry.
The Nation you so proudly served is devastated with pain,
the family you left behind, wishes they could hold you once again.
Farewell our beloved Soliders, Rest in Peace, WE Miss You So,
We will seek justice in your names and in our hearts we will never let you go!!!!!
To all the Mothers Fathers, Children Wives and Loved ones lost in this tragedy, I wish you love and hope that you can find peace. I know it is hard to lose a loved one to something so senseless. But I want you to know that from the bottom of my heart and I am sure every American appreciates beyond what you could ever imagine, the price you and your loved one paid for the freedom we hold so precious. God Bless and comfort you in this your time of pain and need. Your Loved Ones will Always Be Remembered. Gone too soon but never forgotten.
