ALL VOTERS! STOP! LOOK! AND LISTEN; THEN VOTE!

Political View from the Underclass

ALL VOTERS! STOP! LOOK! AND LISTEN; THEN VOTE!

I don’t know, maybe I didn’t see and hear what I think I saw and heard the last few years. I think I heard the Majority leader of the Senate say his #1 priority is to make President Obama a one term President. I didn’t hear all Republican law makers make such a statement. In fact I didn’t hear any other Republican law maker make a statement so profoundly revealing. I did see Republican law maker’s actions that spoke louder than words. I heard Tea Party Conservatives who now represents The Grand Old Party say,” We want our Country back”. I saw and heard the same Republican law makers who supported two unfunded military actions which caused the debt crisis they declared in 2010 say, “We cannot continue to spend more than we take in anymore”. I heard Tea Party members parrot the simple and unrealistic comparisons spoken on Radio and TV, comparing citizen’s personal economy to the economy of the United State Government. That comparison of government and citizen economics was and is ridiculous, but if you wish to mislead the uneducated you must keep it simple. I believe the majority of the voters never studied civics 101; I don’t think it is even taught in middle or high schools anymore. There are those who know the Governments biggest source of income is and has always been taxes. If taxes were collected during this decade of war, the national debt would be much less and the military conflicts would have not lasted this long. The debt crisis was created by the same people who wanted to make President Obama a one term President. The Republicans inherited an economic surplus from the last Democratic President. After two unfunded wars, an unfunded drug program that benefited the drug industry and a bailout of Wall Street, President Obama and the Democratic Party were accused of mismanagement of the economy in his second year in Office.

In the last Seven years the Republican Party has done all they could to erase from the minds of the voters how we got to where we are economically. Even though there is no doubt that they were at fault when they had control of the White House, somehow they have been able to convince voters that the problems now is the President fault. About 3 ½ years into President Obama’s Presidency, the Republicans were controlling the White House by control of Congress and the Senate. The uneducated and uninformed voters don’t understand how this Government works but many claim an understanding of the Constitution of the United States. In the last few years I saw and heard a lot of “First”. I saw and heard for the first time the President of the United States called a LIAR during a State of The Union Address. I saw and heard for the first time in America’s the history, the debt ceiling was not allowed to be raised against the will of a sitting President. I saw and heard for the first time in America’s history, America’s credit rating allowed to be down rated. I saw and heard for the first time in America’s history members of one of the two major political parties totally and without exception vote against what the President Propose, even if it was originally their proposals. Never before have I seen so much disrespect for a President and the Presidency of the United States. It is not like the President is not doing all he can do for the good of the Nation. It is not that the President caused the problems; it is just that the Conservatives don’t want him to solve the problems; they just want him to be blamed for the problems. The Conservatives have convinced the uneducated and ill-informed that Big Government is the problem and Big Business is the solution.

Tea Party Republicans, many who don’t understand how much their quality of life is depended on the Federal, State, and local Governments, (with the Federal Government being their biggest life line) support big business and the private sector tax cuts. They don’t know they are biting the hand that feeds them when they support decreased social spending and tax cuts for the rich and powerful. The payment of their healthcare and retirement depends on taxes collected. Big Business and the private sector could care less if you are Democrat or Republican, or if you are Conservative or Liberal. All that the private sector cares about is profit, not socialism.

I hope that after all I’ve seen and heard concerning the first President which had so many precedents (First Times) that he got a second term and the American people can really get their Country back from the Carpet Bagger Capitalists. If not, like it or not, America will be unrecognizable to the haves and have nots. Even if the Hillary is elected she will be faced with a dismantled scorched earth policy being acted on by Republican Governors Nationwide at this time. Stop, look, and listen, than vote in November 2016.

Short, sweet and to the point.

May I share this!

Well said, Junko. A vote for republicans is a vote for the wealthy 1% and no one else. Do not vote against your own interests because of the flood of lies via advertisements.

How can you say " Never before have I seen so much disrespect for a President and the Presidency of the United States. It is not like the President is not doing all he can do for the good of the Nation. It is not that the President caused the problems; it is just that the Conservatives don’t want him to solve the problems; they just want him to be blamed for the problems."

Even after Obama won the election, the left kept talking about impeaching Bush.

Besides that Obama spent his first two years, with his democratic controlled congress working on Obamacare, and not the economy, unemployment or reigning in the financial institutions that caused the economic collapse. The same ones that used their bailout money to give themselves seven figure bonuses, and refused to help out the people that they stuck with their bad loans.

This year president Obama went to over 175 fundraisers all around the country, played a hundred games of golf, went on the campaign trail begging for votes and money.

ib radmasters, what I said about President Obama is what I saw and heard. Yes the lelt and right spoke about impeaching President Bush, I heard it said that some world leaders wanted to bring him to trial for war crimes. Yes, President Obama did this when he could have done that, but he done what he could do.Yes, Presidents do what ever they think they have to do to be reelected. Nothing he did set a precedent for Presidents. Thanks, for your input and inquiry.

I disagree, he didn't do what he could have done. He could have focused on the real problems that still exist today. And they were the ones caused by the economic collapse of 2008.

It is important, so I will repeat it. Obamacare was not the problems that were in need of immediate solutions. The real problems are the Economy, the Jobs, and controlling the financial industry that caused the economic collapse in the first place. Fannie and Freddie were the key players in that collapse, and they were excluded by congress and the president from any culpability.

He set a precedent with his over 175 fundraisers all across the country, the hundred games of golf, in addition to his campaigning. He did nothing this year but work on his personal goals, at the expense of the needs of the country. He has made the borders even more open than Bush allowed, and he has put the Border Patrol in harms way.

He has also signed numerous Executive Orders that are watering the laws.

Obama has no plan to help the country, he did nothing this year, and he is puffing a plan for his next four years. If he does have a plan, he could have started it this year, but he didn't do that.

ib radmasters, You have a right to be wrong, and I support that right. In your case, stop, look, listen and remember the total rejection of the Obama Presidency by Tea Party Republicans. If the President didn't have the power of Executive Orders the President would have been blocked completely. I hear some Conservative parroting in your comments and I know I can't get you to come to understand what I saw and heard. So we must agree to disagree, thanks again.

ib radmasters profile image

ib radmasters 4 years ago from Southern California

Junko

We can't agree to disagree on factual issues.

You keep avoiding the fact that President Obama had a democratic controlled congress for his first two years. He didn't use it effectively, and he didn't even try to fix the economy and its problems.

That is the reason why he lost his democratic congress in 2010.

Do you really want to see another four years like these under President Obama?

Even under your view that the he is being blocked by the GOP and Tea Party, it still means he has failed to cross the isles. That was also one of his campaign promises that he didn't live up to as president.

Could he reallt have hoped to? Is the failure of uniting his fault, and to what extent? Did he really have a chance, to begin? That's a damn hard argument to make, that Republican obstruction is determined or effected by the President.

@junko

You've some valid criticisms of the Tea Party and people like them. I, personally, wish that a better Democrat was running. So much to do compared to what's actually being done. We have a bit of work ahead of us, it will just be a bit less if Obama is reelected and Romney is blocked from that position, as he should be. Thanks for the thoughts and the well-written Hub! Keep it up.

It is beyond me how everyone blames Obama for the economy and lack of job creation when there is a Republican-controlled congress that openly declares its intention to block him every step of the way. Congress blocks job creating bills and then uses the unemployment rate as ammunition in an election year. The prospect of the uninformed making decisions for all of us is truly terrifying.

junko profile image

junko 4 years ago Author

Mindy, the Republican Party has been hi-jacked by a ruthless and desperate minority element in the GOP. I guess the Republicans feel that if the Tea-party can make Obama a one term President after what a two term Republican President did less than four years ago, it's good politics. Thanks for the comment.

The Republicans are attempting to re-brand themselves, which is odd since there is really nothing new about them at all.

They are advocating decimating the social safety net, and increasing defense spending. Can you say Rome?

WOW...can you say 'rabid' - i know i can.

Either we are living on 2 different yet parallel universes - or - someone's truth is bullshit!

I'm canadian , and have NO dog in the race - yet - i am VERY well versed in US politics as i moved there to train for the olympics when i was 15 - and have felt more american than canadian since! I've spent time in well over 40 states - including alaska, hawaii, and..peurto rico(lol)..

i call em as i see em - period - and in 2008 was heavily backing mccain over obama - right up until he proved himself a moronic puppet by choosing whats-her-useless-name as a running mate!

The Republican party has moved SO far to the right over the past 4 years - it is TERRIFYING!

How much further until fascism, one must wonder - while folks like IB and Ghost32 (AND Romney himself..) will continue to spout the same old lines that say NOTHING! Blame and deflect, that's how they operate!

Golf??? Woulda, shoulda? Isn't hindsight through a narrow, biased - and probably racist microscope easy? AND dirty..

Clearly, Obama has the good of ALL peoples at heart - NOT just the one's with money, power, and INFLUENCE who do NOT want to share to the point of 'letting them eat cake' or DYING!

Clearly - the economy is turning around - as is the housing market, and unemployment rate. Manufacturing is starting up. We're less dependent on others for oil. 'THE PEOPLE' can get healthcare instead of dying trying..

Sure - it's not perfect or even good enough - YET - but, omg - it takes some time to turn the freightliner that the GOP left in 2008 around!

One last rant: IB - there will be NO economy if your boys get in! While they have now(of course) verbally flip-flopped on their HARD and STAUNCH abortion/birth control/women platform in fear of losing the election - have no doubt that it IS still a main target!

And, if they succeed in stripping women of their rights and reversing roe v wade (it's in writing AND on tape guys..) - the economy's going to the shitter anyways..

i'm done

great hub

sharing

“We've clearly entered some parallel universe during these last few days,” GM spokesman Greg Martin said. “No amount of campaign politics at its cynical worst will diminish our record of creating jobs in the U.S. and repatriating profits back to this country.”

Says who? They say Obama and liberals hate America, they want American tax dollars spent on war and rich people, tell everyone else to "eat cake"....they seem more like some type of global lords to me.

You know, the feudal variety.

Hardly American at all. "All for one and one for all" to form a more perfect UNION, not "every man for himself".

I hear Dubai is great for these types. Also suppression of women another plus for them. And gay marriage? Never!

Surely we can take some excess military waste, and buy them all tickets out?

Reminder.....Prez Obama asked John Boehner, as Speaker of House, to join him in ceremony for Gabby Giffords. Boehner turned the President down, went to a Tea Party celebration hosted by Koch Bros instead.

Boehner also turned down invitation to meet prez at White House.

As Speaker of House.

Is this American behavior? Seems more like the behavior of an enemy.

The point were at now...why bother. Even when we win elections, they rule.

Im not being facetious, or silly: i want away from them. I want my kids away from them. I dont want them NEAR my grandsons.

I see their crap on twitter, too. Showing Obama with a noose around his neck, wishing him dead. Just what spirits do they think theyre conjuring up?

Its evil, theyre evil and dangerous to the well-being of us all.

If they need to live in a world where they rule all the time, even when the society says otherwise......we need to let them go. Go and sin some more!

No one wants to admit weve been infiltraited. Well, i see it clearly, and unless we want to be Gaza, we need a clean break.

Our beautiful country is made ugly by them.

These people support Neo Nazis in Ukraine....is this USA?

Not in a trillion kazillion years.

Time is short....we need referendom vote. Those who wish to separate from USGovernment may do so!

Well vote our next president in without you.

No fed dollars, no fed protections...GO!

After a long period of not having majority control in The national Government the Republicans were given control of the House and Senate in the 2010 midterm elections. Since that time and because the President is a Black man the far right worst and most evil and inhuman minority portion of the GOP has shown that they can't govern and the GOP moderates are afraid to speak up. The Creator has a Master Plan. The Grand Old Party has been tainted by The Tea Party and the Republicans will crash and burn because they allowed the Tea Party to drive their Agenda the last eight years. I don't know God's Master Plan but, I hope and pray that America don't crash and burn along with the GOP because of Tea Party missteps the last six years. Thanks again LMC and try not to worry about thing you can't control, just do what you can do.
