AMERICA FOOLED

America is sitting at the edge of financial disaster and those who dictate our budgets and control our finances, namely Congress and the President, are out running about. Congress is in recess and the President is on the campaign trail preparing for a Facebook town hall meeting and raising campaign money for his camp. Never mind that the country is on the brink of going to hell. Has there ever been a time when incompetence and arrogance was in such plentiful supply in the high towers of our government?

Obama has basically set back undetached and watched while the Republicans attempted to fulfill their campaign promises from the 2010 elections. No doubt, the conservative side of the aisle got a strong nod from the American people saying, “clean it up”; “stop the spending”; “get control of the insanity”. Instead we see promises of $100 billion in cuts drop to $ 60 billion then to $38 billion only to find out that the real net impact might not be more than $500 million dollars. Now, the conservative side of the aisle is sitting there on vacation with egg on its face for being so manipulated by the left in their compromise. On top of that, the President remains detached and gets little or no mud on his sleeve.

Obama lit the fires of class envy and hatred of the rich with his deficit spending proposal. Of course he has no interest in reducing spending or the deficit. But the proposal accomplishes what he needs which is division in the masses. The rich are not paying enough. The poor need to hate the rich for not footing the bill. My program will tax the rich if only those nasty republicans could find the guts to pass it in the House. Oh yeah, he is igniting the fires in the hopes of pulling together the vote within the poorer sectors of our country.

Of course, in addressing the issue of deficit spending, Obama was quite clear that no one will touch Social Security on his watch. He made sure those senior citizens who he needs in his voting corner got the message that he was not the bad guy. He was the one who was going to save Social Security from the mean old people who want to take it all away. That’s his message and it plays true with far too many seniors especially in light of the fact that he has already thrown most of them under the bus with the Obama-Care system that is currently in the implementation stage. At the same time, he has Nancy Pelosi out running her collagen-injected mouth yelling “Hands off our MediCare!” How dare this woman who supervised the late night ram-rodding and backroom dealing to put Obama-Care into law have the audacity to even let the word “Medicare” cross her lips? She gave up those rights long ago. But it sure plays well with senior-class America in sending the message that the democrats are fighting hard to keep the bad guys from taking things away…another win for Obama.

Obama just challenged the Republicans to come across the aisle and tackle immigration reform with him prior to 2012. He knows that is not going to happen because he is unwilling to address border security yet wants the entire platform for citizenship revamped so that he can start handing out “free citizenship” vouchers to his potential supporters. He knows that he has to do strong lip service to the issue to cement the Hispanic/Latino voting blocks across the country. If he cannot get process, he will use lip service to attack the conservatives and make it appear that they are the bad guys in the deal and he is the good guy simply trying to solve the problem for these people.

If ever there was a definition of “transparency”, Obama is a walking, breathing example of it. I have never seen a more manipulative and plotting individual willing to use any issue to his advantage. I have never seen any politician grab issues with such sincerity when he has not intention or finding a solution but only using it as his point of leverage to get what he wants from the public which he is manipulating. Politics is a tough business and always has been but this man’s approach to it is pure poison for America.

At the same time, looking to the conservative side of the aisle, all I can say is “shame on you.” Shame on you for sitting there with your thumbs in your butt and letting this man run about blaming you for everything. What are you waiting for…official election time? You are willing to sit there and do little or nothing while these people play you like naïve school boys on the first day of class. At what point do you stand up and call things what they really are? Oh, let’s just wait until the election and then we can have our say. Well, guess what sports fans, the damn election is too far away to wait and by that time you are going to be so far down on the defensive that you cannot ever hope to dig your way out if you have Jesus Christ himself on the ticket.

Americans are benignly stupid. We keep our head in the sands and pay little attention hoping only to hear good things. Some of us actually believe the poison that Obama and his minions are spreading on a daily basis and actually think that he has the best interest of the country at the forefront. Too many hear only what they want to hear and let the rest just blow by. Far too many assign no accountability or level of measure to the promises…the talk, the rhetoric which is so cheap to throw about when you have the Presidential podium in front of you.

The American voter needs to start listening to what is being said. “We are going to reduce the spending”….when? “We are going to lower the debt”….when? “We are going to have healthcare for everyone”….how? Obama throws this stuff around all the time but when the time for action comes, his implementation date is out beyond the bonds of his personal safety and desires. “Oh, we’ll do that but it will be after I am re-elected.”

“For now, let’s just plan on going ahead with raising taxes on the rich and see if we really need to do anything else. If we do, we’ll do that after I’m re-elected.”

Please name me one thing this man has touched since he took office that is better than it was before he showed up? I cannot think of a thing and I try often to do so. He is quite adept at labeling existing issues as “flawed” and in need of reform or possible replacement. In his mind, the “citizen requirements” which have served this country effectively for over 200 years are “flawed’ and must be totally reformed. He says that in light of the fact that we can’t find our federal butt with both hands on our southern border and gain security. He says that because he is courting the Hispanic vote just as he is courting the tree-hugger/environmental vote, as he courts the union vote. The man is courting so many different voting blocks that he cannot afford to do anything for fear that he will alienate to vote in some sector. This is not leadership, its prostitution, and it is criminal.

The Attorney General, Eric Holder, has been allowed to throw out prosecution of Black Panthers who aggressively suppressed potential voters in polling sites around the country. The prosecution was dropped even though expert testimony was at hand that had witnessed the events. He has botched the prosecution of known terrorists and essentially relegated the justice system to slapping them on the hand as they let them go. He has filed suit against Arizona when the state is at wits end in terms of providing for the safety and security of its citizens on the southern border. But, in turn, Holder is more than willing to use taxpayer dollars to defend the rights of a first year teacher to leave her job for an extended period of time so she can go on a trek to Mecca. Is it apparent that maybe there is another voting sector that is getting heavily courted here?

There is nothing taking place in this country today that has the direction to sustain or celebrate the process and framework on which this country was founded and grew. Americans are virtually sitting back and allowing Obama and an out of control Congress to dismantle our financial system, our laws, our international relations, and eventually, our freedoms. How long do you wait before you say ‘enough’? The time will come when we have all had ‘enough’ but by that time, there may not be any recourse. As it is today, we have a Congress which simply ignores the mandates of its functionality in terms of budgets and spending. We have a justice department bent on bringing about anything but justice. We have a President who may not even be a citizen of the country as stipulated by law yet there’s not one who requires him to prove it even as we approach the re-election process. Where does it stop? Where are the laws, the rules, the regulations? Where is the Rule of Law in our society today? These are things we better figure out and do it fast because the clock is ticking and time is surely running out…yet our Congress is on vacation and our President is out campaigning. God Bless America!

Wayne,

I agree with your assessment of our politicians but sadly, if reports of public opinion polls concerning entitlment reform are correct, then I fear our countrymen are too addicted to State Manna to ask for the needed rehab.

We need an attitude similar to, "Give me liberty or give me death", or "better dead than red" to get through these perilous times.

Well done Wayne. Up, awesome & beautiful. I'm getting more and more worried with the number of people who are continuing to buy into his BS. We have a tough row to hoe between now and 2012. I hope more and more wake up before it's too late!

Living in AZ with a large Hispanic population, I hear plenty of talk about the soon to happen amnesty. Many of these people are friends and work associates of mine, and their grape vine tells them it will happen very soon, and is a sure bet.

Another outstanding hub by Mr. Brown, and I'll bet you will get some interesting comments with this one......

@Tom Whitworth...We certainly have a portion of our society that feels that the government should provide them with a safety net for everything. At the same time, we have a government staffed with elected officials who seem to derived their power from the government being the primary provider of all things good. The American citizen didn't dream up Social Security and Medicare...some dumbass politician did while in the process of attempting to buy votes. It proved a grand scheme to take America's money without calling it a tax and spending it on other priorities...now they start running out of money and everybody wasnts to treat it like it is some kind of giveaway program financed by the government. The only thing the government has done is squander the funds. It's criminal. We do face some hard choices yet Obama wants to talk about taking on the challenges out of one side of his mouth then dare someone else to touch anything out of the other. No wonder it is so easy for the guy to have two faces...he has two mouths and each of them is delivering a different message. WB

@rkhyclak...Not only are they going to wake up too late, they are going to allow the left to label them and yoke them with all these issues long before they even have a candidate on the stage. The right will be so buried in trying to defend itself that there will be little time for anything but the digging. The public is already dejected by the results achieved since the 2010 election. I do not see their achievements acting as a springboard for the leap into 2012. They will be lucky to keep from losing ground. WB

@denise mohan...What will be next is more drama...tons of spin from the left and a pointing of fingers toward those on the right to say that these are the mean people who want to take all your stuff away America. Leave us in office and we will give you more stuff! Lies, lies, and more lies all told in the name of securing votes and winning elections while they are mortgaging the future and the souls of the American public. A firing squad would be too humane. WB

@Old Poolman...The immigration situation is a "created" designed to create the illusion that our citizenship requirements are old and outdated...not the case but it is how Obama does business. Quick, free, citizenship creates favorable voting blocks who will be loyal to the left to show how grateful they are to be a legal entity in the land of milk and honey. These Washington whores have no conscience when it comes to giving away America as long as it benefits them. It's digusting! WB

Powerful hub! I too am so frustrated with this whole situation. Obama is staying in campaign mode as you said trying to put his fingers in all the wholes in the dam so he won't lose those supporters. I think the Republican and newly elected tea party people need to get tough or we are bound to have another 4 years of this idiot and we may not even recognize our own country. Holder needs to be thrown out of office also. One might assume he is a Muslim if you look at his actions.

Wayne Brown profile image

@Truckstop Sally...Those who have not lived under tyranny will not recognize it when it rears it head. Government now, in the eyes of those who worship at Obama's trough, is the provider of all things wonderful. The place you go when you die and receive 75 virgins! Sound familiar? LOL! I just couldn't resist that "Fool On The Hill" for this one...it seemed so appropriate although I would have perferred those "fools on the hill!" as there is plenty to go around up there. WB

@Christopher Price...Ha! You like that word Chris? Feel free to use it when the mood strikes. It takes things to another level that you just can't seem to get using the basics! LOL! After the "re-election" or as they say in China, "re-erection", I will attempt to use that "re-undectached" word in some meaningful way! LOL! Thanks much! WB

@Pamela99...Ronald Reagan told us over and over how to spot these people because he knew that sooner or later they would surface in our government. He had already had his fill of them in Hollywood and knew them for what they were and the threat that they posed to freedom in the world. Our inability to deal with them and keep them contained all started when we let them convince us that we should not teach that fear in our own children. Now, our younger generations do not recognize socialism or communism when they come into contact with it. For them, it will be all about a young president who has enough savvy to use Facebook to connect with them. The use of the technology will overshadow the message that he delivers. Again, they will return to support in this utopian dream that he wants to build in America. We are not suppose to teach them to recognize a socialist but he has no problem teaching them to hate the rich and despise capitalism in our society. He has no problem pandering to large corporations like GE, letting them walk on taxes while they walk away with 3 billion taxpayer dollars for their "green efforts". Obama just paid his taxes on 1.7 million dollars in earnings for 2010. His taxes came to just over $400, 000....a factor around 25%...seems rather small in proportion to the money earned but he had no problem with it when it came to his own money. I didn't see him writing a check for more and offering it to the government voluntarily. No, the feelings are different when it comes out of his pocket. Personally, I think it is a damn shame that any one in America would have to give up 25% of their net earnings at the end of the day to keep this monster we call a government feed. How big do we grow this beast before we put it on a diet? How much government do we need to run our lives and provide our freedoms? How many Muslims does Holder have to set free before the scales of justice come into balance? At one time in this country "Justice" was viewed as blind but that no longer seems to be the concept. We are currently trampling all over the rule of law in this country from the top down and eventually that lack of respect for the structure of our system will hit the streets and turn America into the same chaos that pervades the middle east at the present. Nothing could suit Obama and his string puller, Soros more, than to have to declare marshal law in order to keep the citizens of America in line...at that point, they will have America where they want it and can send it at full speed in the direction they desire. Once the military is ruling the streets, the concept of freedom and person liberty are nothing but a memory in the mind of some who lived in the land of the free. At that point, we can all dust off our rugs, face to the east, and pray to our new god, Allah, for the forgiveness of our sins as ugly Americans. WB

That is a pathetic amount of taxes Obama paid considering he is so set on taxing people making over $200,000 which would shut down numerous small businesses. Reagan really had an insight to the future. The liberal college professors are another problem and so many young people are clueless as you have stated.

Excellent summation and commentary, Wayne. I think Obama can't count on the Hispanic vote this year. Sure, they will vote in mass this year. But, historically, Hispanics are not known for involving themselves in elections in huge percentages. 2008 seemed to be an exception to that notion. Where Obama has hurt himself is with the blue collar, white voters who basically put him over the hump. He has neglected that demographic to his peril.

As for Obama himself; He is Nero fiddling while Rome burns. He is either oblivious to what is happening or it is a planned effort. Right now, I'm not sure which it is. One more thing; I made a hub about Obama's Open Mic in a Chicago fund raiser. He made comments when he thought reporters were out of the room. CBS is refusing to release the entire tape to the public. Rumor is, he referred to Americans as "slugs." I always knew he hated Americans. But, it seems he is starting to lose his cool facade now. His true feelings are starting to come out. Enjoyed the hub!

Brilliant piece of writing and a totally accurate assessment about the state of our union. We are in deep trouble and the president is running around like a teenager telling everybody, except the rich, what they want to hear. I think the conservatives have missed the boat. Great rant Wayne,

I think Frogs right on the most part, it's mostly apathy that hurts us, that mixed with a lot of dumbed down entitlement complacency. My hope is that Obama will alienate enough voting blocks to loose come 2012. But like you said, by then it might already be too late.

Thanks

@The Frog Prince...Apathy was certainly the bus we rode in on, I don't disagree with that. With Obama's plan for complete and total immigration reform we can add about 15 million more apathetic types to the voting list. Thanks, Frog. WB

@breakfastpop...The republicans remind me of a party that would rather lose by default or by a technicality that one that wants to bring the fight. I have never seen a group of folks who had "right" on their side, who had "facts" on their side, who, in essence" had the majority of America on their side, and still, they cannot bring home to bacon. What a shame. WB

@poorconservative1...Those of us who can see retirement in the near term are exceptionally "unthrilled" with anything the left has to say or offer. Wayne,

Obama's head is stuck in a transnational socialist ideology, not only counter to our constitutional democracy, but an ideology he'll implement without regard to law or consequences.

Far too many people fall for his spoken lies, and fail to observe his policy. And you are right that far too many of us are not being activist in fighting him. Just going to the polls is not enough, and way too few of us even do that. A good part of the Obama agenda has been blocked in Congress, but only because of people who wrote their legislators, signed petitions, etc. We can't completely stop him until we throw him out, but we can slow him down by putting reelection fear into our legislators.

I get this sinking feeling that George Soros is the real President of this country, or at least it appears that way.

Stu is so correct, we need action in addition to words. We all need to let our elected representatives know via phone calls, letters, email, or smoke signals, that we are fed up and disappointed in their performance. Most of them are as concerned about their reelection as the Obama/Soros team is about theirs. Now is the time to drop the hammer and let them know how we feel.

@RealHousewife...I suggest that you "google" Saul Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals" and read the dozen or so directives which he advised those who were promoting community uprisings. You might notice some similarity. I have found that once young people or even minorities finally make the connection between their wallet and the money going for spending in Washington, they quickly gain a conservative perspective and start thinking for themselves. I hope that continues. WB

Stu From VT 5 years ago

Wayne,

Too bad about the advertising, but this may not be HP's fault. I think the issue is that some advertisers are in regulated industries, and the fed's could pull operating licenses as punishment for having ads placed on content that offends the administration. I know this type of censorship is wrong, but I think I can see where it devolves from.

Hi Wayne,

As stated, I think the problem is that if they gave you a direct answer, it would make their advertisers look like they are promoting censorship. This may in fact be the case, but they can't say this directly, or they could lose alot of advertisers.
