Bayh Abandons Ship while Obama, Reid and Pelosi Continue to Rearrange the Deck Chairs

In his farewell to the Titanic address Indiana Senator Evan Bayh said “I love helping our citizens make the most of their lives." Really, you sure had a strange way of helping your citizens. For the past year you along with your sidekicks Pelosi and Reid have plowed full speed ahead with your attempt to ram Government Takeover of Healthcare down your beloved citizen’s throats. All the while these same citizens were screaming against it and begging you to focus on unemployment!

You went on to describe congress as dysfunctional. What is dysfunctional my dear friend is your far left Democratic Party. You guys controlled both houses of congress as well as claimed allegiance to the empty suit that occupied the Oval Office and yet you couldn’t get any of your liberal Saul Alinsky agenda passed. And for you to now appear before the American People and deliver this Pontius Pilate Speech; I wash my hands of the entire process is at best disingenuous and worst, the height of hypocrisy.

You, along with your fellow charlatans folded like cheap suits every time Reid or Pelosi put any pressure on you to follow in lock step with their liberal agenda. The only reason you are standing here now delivering this Oh Woe Is Me Speech is because you saw the handwriting on the wall when Scott Brown was elected. The charade was over; the American People had awaken from their slumber and were mad as hell and not taking it anymore

I knew I could count on you to conjure up that most sacred of all Democratic Spirits; the one guaranteed to stop Republicans dead in their tracks every time you guys can’t get your way; the Beelzebub of all the demons; you evoked the lack of Bi-Partisanship as the main reason for leaving! Yes you actually claimed you were tired of the partisanship. Tired of the Partisanship, for crying out loud you had 60 votes. You are mad because no Republican would cross over and provide cover for you so called Moderate Democrats. Had Susan Collins or Olympia Snow capitulated, then maybe just maybe you and say Blanch Lincoln could have pretended to be moderate and voted against the Senate Health Care Bill. As it was you were exposed for the Hypocrites you truly are and like any spoiled child when he’s caught cheating you are now taking your marbles and going home!

You have made the greatest contribution to your state and country you could possibly make by resigning. Now hopefully the people of Indiana will follow suit with the citizens of the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and elect a Republican to replace you. One by one; little by little we the people may take back our country one vote at a time; one senator or representative at a time! Maybe now with your resignation, the good citizens of Indiana have a legitimate shot at getting their jobs back!

At least Bayh isn't quitting in the middle of the game as Palin did. He has the class to finish his term.

There is a rumor that maybe Bayh wants to run for president against Obama in 2012. Of course, no one knows that for sure. Good hub.

Another one hits the dust, another on down, another one down.

It is almost like dominoes. There is rumor that the republicans have a possiblility of taking both the house and senate. Seems unreal at this point, but I heard rumors of something to that effect.

Keep on hubbing!

They say he didn't have to worry about being reelected, so there must be more. We'll just wait and see. As for the first comment - I do believe Palin resigned because of the lawsuits. Was she supposed to remain as governor and end up owing millions to lawyers?

Great powerful and truthful hub, Patriot. It is so refreshing to hear you tell it like it is, especially in this current climate of garbled meanings and twisted words. Congress is completely dysfunctional and the American people should ask most of them to leave, period.

I guess I had you pegged all wrong; thought you were one of us just not as outspoken. Now I realize you are a candidate for the Chris Mathews Tingly Leg Society. Is nicomp short for nincompoop?

I heard that rumor also; if he does he’ll be running as a Democrat and one Democrat is just as bad as the other. Remember he didn’t stand up for the citizens he claimed to love so much or those of us across the country and vote against this Health Care Madness when he had the chance. Remember it is only now this modern day "Pagliacci” supposedly turns his back on his unfaithful mistress (politics) and plants the deadly dagger!

They are more than rumors; it may be that by the time rolls around for the November elections, there may not be any Democrats left to run against.

You are correct in your response to nicomp; may wanna check out mine as well. You are also correct in your assessment of why Palin resigned; the main stream media hates her so much they were backing a campaign to virtually sue her out of office so she did the honorable thing and resigned instead of defending frivolous lawsuit after frivolous lawsuit, wasting the people of Alaska’s money and time. Of course doing the honorable thing is something most Democrats; did I say most, excuse me ALL DEMOCRATS, can’t understand!

Not only is congress dysfunctional, Charlatans like Bayh are quitting rather than suffering the humiliation of defeat. The days of professing to be one thing so the good people of your respective state will vote you in; then going to Washington and marching in “Goose Step” with the NAZI LEADERSHIP in your party are over. Now that old World War Poem by Friedrich Gustav Emil Niemoller Protestant pastor and social activist, they came for the Jews but I wasn’t a Jew so I didn’t speak out has new meaning; They came for Kennedy’s Seat, then they came for Byah, then they came for Dorgan, then they came for Landrieu, then they came for Lincoln, before that they came for Corzine, and they came for Deeds.

It has been said great minds think alike so you must have a great mind. There are no moderate Democrats; it is truly an Oxymoronic phrase. Hip Hip Hooray for obstruction & gridlock in D.C.!

I am absolutely LOVING watching these dems RUN from this sinking ship as fast as they can. Sadly, the administration STILL doesn't get it. Barry thinks we are just too damn dumb to understand him because his intelligence eclipses ours. Loved this hub!!

partisan patriot 6 years ago

Thanks Sheri

He does think the reason his agenda isn't being met with open arms is because he just hasn't been able to explain it in simnple enough terms that even we unintelligent Bumpkins can grasp the concept so he keeps trying and trying and trying; just like the Eergizer Bunny!

Do the math, 60 Democrat Senators vote for a bill,,,,

1 Republican Senator votes for that same bill,,,

Democrats are full of glee,,, it is called bi-partisan!

partisan patriot 6 years ago

greatAmerican

What's so great to us and obviously devastating to Democrats like Bayh is they couldn't get 1 Rhino Republican to vote with their 60 so they could falsely claim bi-partisanship!

Sigh. Politics is not a Step Function. Have you hugged Tom Delay Lately?

partisan patriot 6 years ago

Nicomp

Are you implying in your reference to Tom Delay that as the steps increased in difficulty and number during his Dancing with the Stars debut, his score decreased; i.e. a reciprocal relationship?

The membership function for political affiliation is not a crisp function. It may not even be linear. Transforming this function to the frequency domain tends to indicate that the DC value ,at (0,0), is often trivial and can be discarded by the application of a very narrow IHP filter without noticeable degradation when converted back to the spatial domain.
