Ben Carson and His Platform

Abortion

Ben Carson is a staunch pro-life candidate. His convictions originate from his time as a pediatric surgeon. He believes that human life begins at conception and must be protected at any cost.

Gitmo

Unlike Obama who promised in 2007 to close Gitmo, Carson wants to keep the detention center open. Carson believes that keep Gitmo open will enhance our national security efforts in order to keep our country safe from another terrorist attack.

Gun Laws

The right to bear arms, enumerated in the Second Amendment of the Constitution, is central to Carson's stance on the issue of gun laws. Carson believes that the right to bear arms should not compromised in our nation and he believes that it is a fundamental liberty.

Taxation

Carson believes that the current tax code is far too complex and like other many other Republican candidates, he proposes to simplify it. During the 2nd GOP debate, it was established that he is in favor of a flat tax system that will tax proportionally instead of progressively.

Foreign Policy

Carson states that we should be resolute in our dealings with nations that are ruled by dictators and bullies like Vladmir Putin. He believes that we should act if Putin decides to project Russia's influence past its boundaries and tries to annex sovereign nations.

Carson believes that our alliance with Israel, the only democratic nation in the Middle East, should be maintained in future years.
