Brainwashing the Kids

Lady is at the Table

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Thursday, May 28, 2015. Our delightful friend, Ladybug, is with me at the breakfast table. She has prepared a delicious assortment of freshly baked waffles for your enjoyment. I will be brewing enough Irish coffees to satisfy one and all. Lady has asked me to extend an invitation to all the Poppers this morning. She is concerned about the influence the schools are having over our children. The Left has taken over the curriculum at every level and we are graduating idiots who believe ISIS is a brand of sherbet. Lady and I are anxiously awaiting your arrival.

Gender Fluidity

Thank you all for joining me this morning. What I am about to share with you is a perfect example of the dumbing down of America. I didn't think we could be any dumber, but apparently I was wrong. The Fairfax County Public Schools are preparing changes to their family life curriculum for grades 7 through 12. The gist of the change is that students are going to be taught that there is no such thing as 100 percent boys or 100 percent girls. We can be both genders, or no gender or half a gender or any gender at all. Ah, life is good! Students in middle school will be learning about transgenderism. Tenth graders will be studying the concept of sexuality in a much broader way than your momma and poppa ever told you. Get ready for a new dictionary of words describing every sexual orientation. The students will be introduced to heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism, The kids will be taught that one's sexual orientation develops over a lifetime. I suppose the message is this. If at 12 you think you are a heterosexual, don't be alarmed when at 21 you discover you are bisexual or homosexual or asexual or any combination of all of the above. If you aren't confused by now, you should be!

White Privilege is the Problem

Teachers are being trained to accept different behaviors in minority students because these kids have radically different cultural values. White kids are taught to be on time. Minority kids are taught that it is okay to be tardy. Absence from school is acceptable in minority students, not so for white kids. Are you starting to get the drift? Teachers are encouraged to be flexible with students who are late to class, absent, loud or undisciplined. It's just their way of doing things and nothing more. Of course, if you are white, a visit to the principal or worse is definitely in order. White culture is based upon "white individualism" consisting of such boring traits as adhering to time schedules or planning for the future and the ridiculous idea that hard work is the key to success. It has been suggested by those who believe in this garbage that it might be better to separate the races. It looks like segregation is coming back into vogue. "White privilege" is the culprit here. The tendency for white kids to show up on time is hurting minority students because being on time is a foreign concept. My head is beginning to spin, so I think it's time to move on.

Reinforcing Bias

Middle and high-school students in Massachusetts are being brainwashed to adopt a pro- Palestinian bias and an anti-Israel stance. The agenda is part of the troubling Common Core Program. The lessons teach that Hamas and Fatah promote more peaceful means than intifada. If you think Hamas is a terrorist group, you are wrong! Hamas is a political party, silly. Hamas is no different than the Labor and Likud parties in Israel. This particular lesson plan is going to be taught nationwide. By the time these students graduate, they will be full-fledged Israel haters. Is it any wonder that anti-Semitism is rising at an alarming rate on college campuses? By the time this group of students goes through college, we will be a nation totally united against Israel. Something ugly is happening in America and stopping it is going to be very difficult, if not impossible.

Government Overreach

The federal government is making yet another attempt to take over your children. After all, they and not you, the parents, know what is best. Obama's Education Secretary Arne Duncan, has called for the establishment of government boarding schools. In his strange view, there are certain kids who the government should have 24/7. I don't know about you, but I am scared. Even scarier is Duncan's appreciation for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. He sees partnering with UNESCO as a golden opportunity to transform children into what he calls "green citizens." I think it is more accurate to call them brainwashed citizens or government clones. If alarm bells aren't sounding off in your ears, they should be. Actually, Duncan should relax a little. By the time our nation's kids graduate from high school or college, they will be perfect little robots incapable of rational thinking. It will be a fine day for Marxists here and around the world.

What would please me is to kick all these wackos out of the schools, Congress, the VA, the EPA, the IRS, the State Department, the Justice Department and most of all the White House. P.S. your sexuality is just getter better and more interesting with every passing day. See you at the Inn.

Good morning Patti. This was interesting, and I'm glad I no longer have young children attending our schools today.

I have been in the repair business of one kind or another most of my adult life. A good repairman is wise enough to know when something is so broken it is just not fixable anymore. When it comes to our country so many parts are broken and worn out that we may be reaching that point. It almost seems as if we are living in some insane asylum where the inmates are now in total control. When I read about some of the decisions that are being made by our so-called leaders I am convinced that the inmates are now in total control.

We have ISIS breathing down our necks hoping to kill every non-Muslim in our country and our President is worried about climate change. Even a child could prioritize better than this.

Filling the nearly empty little heads of young school children with BS is a great way to transform a country. We still have young adults who have no idea what ISIS is and have never heard of them. The plan to dumb-down America is working well.

But thanks to this hub I learned it is OK for me to go buy that dress I have been dreaming of and try out my feminine side for awhile. NOT.

Pop and Lady,

Tyrants have always tried to brainwash the youth of their nations. The current crew does so through the education system and lets the parents pay for their room, board, health care and education costs. What a country!

You have an uncanny insight of the malaise of our nation. I feel like

Poolman. It gets crazier by the day and is playing out like a B-Horror movie. Common sense has taken a leave of absence and meritocracy

has settled in for the long haul. This is scary. Thirty years ago, I would have bet the farm that this way of thinking would never have been in the spot light. We are sliding backwards at an alarming rate and no one knows what to do.

Thank you for your relentless exposure of our weak minded, corrupt

leaders. Without a doubt, many or most have passed through to the

other side of the mirror and are able to live without possessing a conscience.

DJ.

Good Morning, Mike,

The U-Tube video you forwarded to me sums everything up. Even the Muslims think Obama is insane or on drugs! The best way to

"change" society is to change the kids and that is what is happening now. Some parents and some states are rebelling against Common Core, but if things continue as they are now, the government will win and the kids and our nation will lose. Sometimes I think that there is something in the water that has contributed to the insanity that is so pervasive. Is it possible that so many people are completely out of their minds? In any case, forget the dress. You are a manly man and that is as it should be! I'll be at the Inn saving you a seat.

Hi Pop,

Former educator here as well ,billybuc, and there is nothing new about the encroachment of the government via homogenizing reforms through testing, through assessments of teachers based on student performance and so much more. Where did you get your information for this piece--source?

Regarding sex ed classes, hit me if you will, but I feel that kids should be exposed to the education that includes all possibilities they will encounter in the macrocosm.

When a child is created, so much can happen in the inception and throughout gestation. It is not a perfect process. Remember, it is organic. Therefore, anomalies prevail.

My personal opinion regarding coming out later is that kids through shame are domesticated to repress natural inclinations and habituations. Within this context, these kids go out into the world and lead lives that are incongruent to their native embodiment . This of course, ends up involving partnerships, marriages, and the birth of children that will be impacted ala confrontation by pain later on when the truth can no longer be withheld.

My hope for the future is that people will stop harming one another and instead spread love not pain. It takes more energy to harm than to spread good will.

The Constitution was designed to grant a certain limited authority to the federal government, and otherwise limit its authority. The Founding Fathers knew what government could and almost certainly would do if it had authority over education, so they did not grant it.

The Department of Education should be abolished immediately and all control of education should be returned to local schools. Here is what Marx, in his ten planks of communism, said was needed to control young minds:

10. Free education for all children in government schools.

Old Poolman profile image

Old Poolman 16 months ago from Rural Arizona

It would seem that those we elected to watch out for us are either part of the problem, or the entire problem. Their main effort is in making sure they get reelected, and stealing enough money to take care of them for the rest of their lives if they lose the election.

How much longer will parents put up with our failing school systems thanks to the Federal Department of Education? Like most government agencies who are failing the only thing they can think of is spending more money. Unless the Department of Education admits their system is a failure, billions of dollars will not make it any better. And the odds of them admitting failure are slim to none.

If I had school aged children they would either be in the best private school I could afford, or I would home school. There is no way I would let my children waste years of their lives on our failed system and be brain washed to boot.

When our elected watch dogs are not doing their jobs, what do we do? Most of them need to be fired and replaced by someone willing and able to do the job. The problem is we have to do this at the voting booth and many who vote today just don't have a clue.

"10. Free education for all children in government schools." really sounds like a good thing does it not?

Apparently Karl Marx understood that it is really hard for children not to drink the cool-aid when nothing else can be offered.

All I can say is that I watched as what we were 'forced' to teach and HOW we would do it ....and when it got to be too much I felt so frustrated. It is scary how crazy things have gotten.

I so agree with this hub....sadly many do not know (surely they DO care, right) what is happening.

It is so wrong. Teachers have NO voice really in what is taught.

However, one teacher here in Florida refused to give one of the kindergarten tests (one that is time consuming and pointless) and as a result, that test was suspended but many many many others are still in place.

When will this slide end??? Not enough folks are like you ...watching and taking note.

Thank you for sharing this, breakfastpop Voted up++++

Good Morning ps,

Although many people are interested, concerned and vocal, the numbers need to grow. . First the little kids have to be taught how to take the test. Then the tests are administered and re-administered weeks later. It's a total waste of time. The children are not really learning anything and when they are, they are learning about our nation and the world in a twisted, biased manner. See you at the Inn and thanks so much for coming to breakfast.

Old Poolman profile image

We need testing to determine if the current teaching methods are effective or need to be revised. But now it seems that most schools spend the majority of their available time teaching students how to pass the test rather than teaching the various subjects.

If you do a Google search on worldwide educational rankings you will find that the US continues to slide toward the bottom of the list. To most of us, these statistics would be a red flag that what we are doing is not working and needs to be revised. But the Federal Department of Education is not most of us. As they do with most things they will continue down the same road for years even though results prove their plan is failing. Unlike a private enterprise where results are everything, failure is acceptable to any government run operation and they can't even be fired and replaced.

These children are the future of our country, yet we allow these educational ranking to slide to the bottom. We should be screaming and demanding that this serious issue be addressed but I hear nothing. It is obvious that other countries have figured out how to do it, could we not learn from them?

I read where in some locations children can no longer be expelled for refusing to follow a teachers instructions, or cursing at, or threatening a teacher. This was done because it seems more minorities are gulity of this behaviour than caucasions and they want to avoid discrimination.

It is time for parents to get involved and demand more from the Department of Education and their own school systems.

And that is my rant for today.

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop 16 months ago Author

Dear Mike,

And an excellent rant it is! I talked to my 11 year old grandson about Common Core. He knows more about it than most adults. Precious teaching time is spent preparing for these tests which are then repeated a few weeks later. I asked him if he does current events in class. He said the class discussed current events twice the entire year. Now that the school year is almost over, his teacher is rushing to get through the curriculum. From my perspective, parents get involved and then lose steam and interest. My grandson is very bright He will enter middle school in the gifted program, but even with that I don't believe he is being challenged enough. He feels the same way. It is a crying shame and the entire nation will suffer the consequences. See you at the Inn and thanks for your eloquent rant.....

To many parents, our school system is nothing more than a "free" baby sitting service. They are not at all involved with their childrens education other than a quick glance at the report card. That is if report cards are even sent out anymore. Perhaps our Department of Education has eliminated report cards as poor grades reflect on their performance.

One of my neighbors has home schooled all of his children. The wife does the teaching and runs it like a school with a start time, break time, lunch time, and quitting time. Their oldest child took all the entrance exams for the University of Arizona as was allowed to skip his entire freshman year.

Many claim that home schooling denies a child of the socialization needed to become a well balanced adult. I personally don't see how denying a child exposure to drug dealers, gangs, and school yard bullies could harm them. Most of the schools in this area look like little prisons with tall fences and locked gates.

The parent apathy is a large part of our declining educational ranking. Their failure to demand more is what allows our Department of Education to get by with their poor performance.

It is sad, but I doubt anything will change until we are in last place. Perhaps some of this is intentional because it is much easier to control uneducated people.

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop 16 months ago Author

Dear Mike,

I know someone who homeschool her son. There is plenty of opportunity for socialization, because parents who homeschool network and get the kids together for sports and other fun things. Private school is an option, but around here the tuition is between 30,000 and 40,000 dollars a year! I was on top of things when my kids were in school and even then so many parents just didn't give a damn. Sometimes I feel like walking into the school and taking on the powers that be. I try to keep that side of me under control!

Hi Pop.

I fully realize the corruption of the agencies that surround the government. Moreover, I am quite experienced as to the ways of the bureaucratic school systems and how they operate. People don't understand outside of the profession generally. These are huge hierarchal money making organizations, no different in some ways to other business organizations, except for the fact that a good percentage of the money garnered comes from governmental/political "standards," nepotism, and lots of corruption, hence the emphasis on "standards" as it relates to the student and teacher culture.

And, I am not doubting your reporting, only asked for your sources.

I am against the Common Core as well, and state testing generally. It only serves and fills the linings of a political engine, not our nation's children. Infusion of the arts and a connected curriculum (not disconnected knowledge via paragraph blurbs on a pencil and paper assessment) is the way to educating students. Lively and active learning enriches the brain.

Regarding fact checking, I have no interest in doing such a thing with respect to your thoughts that I am in disbelief of your pieces. I merely asked to be educated myself.

Very interesting read when I read between the lines! I am glad my children are all grown up, but what about my grandchildren? They all live far away but on the local front in South Africa - Cape Town I know of several parents who took their kids out of school for the very reasons you mention ( between the lines) Many parents are choosing homeschooling these days, or send them to a teacher friend who has started a 'homeschooling' class from their home. Our lives in this world is changing big time.
