Christian Persecution; Pastor Saeed Abedini Remains Imprisoned. Obama Does Nothing.

Pastor Saeed Abidini is an American citizen wrongfully imprisoned in Iran. He is being tortured for his belief in Christ our Lord. This particular incident is not alone in the world, but it is unique in that it has been highly publicized over the last months. It even got the President’s attention as evidenced by John Kerry’s comment that he and the Obama administration...

“condemn Iran's continued violation of the universal right of freedom of religion and call on the Iranian authorities to respect Mr. Abedini's human rights and release him.”

Oh, and by the way...

Have you stopped to think about just how much we, the American taxpayer, are shelling out for all those cool site seeing trips and scopes on the Dead Sea Scrolls? Food for thought.

At the right place at the right time.

How fortuitous for this poor imprisoned man that the leader of our nation is in his neck of the woods and cares. Or does he? President Obama is in the Middle East right now. He’s been heckled in Israel and even had time to plant a tree, but what has he done to free this Christian, American citizen? Not a damn thing. Why not? For the same reason the Pied Piper President doesn't do anything to fix the state of the nation, because he doesn't want to.

Has he ever once done what he said?

It was all over the news.

A mere few weeks ago there was all kinds of hoopla going on in the media about 80 of our elected officials stepping up and actually penning a letter. It was given to John Kerry presumably for the State Department to present to the United Nations on Pastor Abedini's behalf. That must have been so strenuous. Regardless, the 80 in question at least did something. Over half a million people have signed a petition to see Pastor Abedini freed.

What did our so called President do? Kerry and Obama both took advantage of publicity making it look as if they were sympathetic to this tortured, imprisoned, Christians’ plight. As per usual, Obama said he was concerned and, as per usual, did not a damn thing in relation to the issue. He did play some golf between then and now I believe.

The Abedini's were led to believe they had the State Department's support.

I do not own the above video. It is an excerpt from a Fox News interview with Jordan Seculow.

He's all about equality?

I bet President Obama and John Kerry both have had some pretty nice dinners, gone to some fancy places, and been all around pampered since they took advantage of the publicity surrounding Pastor Abedini. Saeed, himself, was just within the last few days told he would be sent to a hospital for treatment. He has internal bleeding from all the beatings. He’s still not in the hospital, mind you, he’s just been told he will get to go. I wonder how long President Obama waits for medical attention.

They did not bother to show for their own hearing.

They didn't even take the shot at the UN.

Since publicly showing support via the media, the State Department has been in front of the United Nations. With letter in hand and a huge petition to top it off, did they even bother to bring up the issue? Of course not! Why would they? They just led the Pastor, his family, his children, the 80 elected officials who penned the letter, and everyone else think they would. How nice of them. It instills such a warm sense of the government’s got my back doesn't it?

What do you think?

Over the last few days the physical appearance comparison being made between President Barack Hussein Obama and the actor playing Satan in “The Bible”, Mehdi Ouzaani, has taken over front pages across the Internet. After looking at the picture, I have to agree. They do look alike. More importantly, they act alike. Satan is the great deceiver. It looks like he’s got competition these days. Doing nothing in the face of evil is evil itself.

If the President really doesn't like the comparison to the devil, I strongly suggest he step up in the face of evil. God knows he can open his mouth about basketball, how fat we are, every woman’s right to have others contribute to the cost of her abortion and champion gay marriage. Why isn't he flapping his lips to get our tortured brother out of tribulation? Why isn't he standing up for the rights of a tortured American imprisoned abroad for his Christian faith? Like the book says people, judge by the fruits. What else would a devil do?

Do you see it?

Do you think they resemble each other?

  • No. The whole thing is silly. I'm a loyal lib and I'm sticking to it.
  • Yes. Hello, are you blind?
  • Abstain. I'm too cowed to voice an opinion because I see the writing on the wall.

Update March 22, 2013

The State Department, due to nothing but public pressure, finally made a statement to the UN. For all of less than 50 seconds with 20 of that having nothing to do with Pastor Abedini directly. Considering all the taxes you have paid over your life, if it were you, wouldn't you think you should rate a little more than 30 seconds?

What has been the result? So far, not a damn thing.

Update - 4-8-13

Pastor Saeed remains imprisoned. His birthday is coming up on May 7. Here's a link where you can send him a letter. We are hoping to flood the prison on that day. It costs nothing and takes but a moment. Please, let Pastor Abedini know we support him and are with him in spirit. Click the link and write to him, today.

Great hub you have here. I feel sorry for the Pastor and his family too. Barrack Obama, has to do something about this, he has to protect his people. Doing nothing is not okay. You know sometimes, things like this makes me want to enter politics to do things that the politicians aren't doing, but they should do.

I don't expect Obama or his minions to do much for the common people of this country unless it is to their benefit.

Dead and/or tortured Americans mean less than nothing to the Prez, as witness not only Pastor Abedini but the 4 men abandoned to their deaths in Benghazi, etc.

Obam's extreme insensitivity doesn't stop there, either. That tree he planted? It's against Israeli law to import trees from anywhere outside their own boundaries. This was a magnolia from the U.S., for cry-yi, and Obama's own people have made it clear he KNEW it was illegal to do what he did, using the weight of our nation to go against the laws of sovereign Israel.

Voted Up and Remember in 2016.

Good hub, Vix, and I agree with you...but how easily the media fools us, showing the President and Netanyahoo (sp?) smiling and hugging each other, suggesting everything is alright between our two nations, and then someone like you comes along and presents the truth, not about our two nations but just plain "the truth" about our president.

The "truth" is disturbing, and leaves a funny taste.

I've not found this POTUS doing anything that won't in some way benefit him directly. I can't imagine him even caring about an individual American citizen nor all of us as a group -- says a lot about the guy. Best/Sis

Mariellenikka ~ Thank you very much for taking the time to read and comment. It is most concerning that our President exhibits no action indicating he wishes to help free an American Christian at all. You should go into politics! Let me know if you do. I will hand out flyers myself!

Ghost 32 ~ You are so right. That man would throw his own grandmother under the bus. From what I hear, he has.

I had no idea the tree was not legal. I did find it odd for another reason. Correct me if I'm wrong, for I truly suck at geography, but isn't that part of the world kind of like a desert? Magnolias, while gorgeous and one of my favorites, are water hogs! That man insults everyone he meets in one way or another. He has to be the most arrogant liar that ever lived.

Thanks bunches for the read and cool comment. God bless and happy hubbing!

SubRon7 ~ I think that's all the major media does now...Lie! I guess, if I'm being totally honest, a much better word is deceive. I'm seeing it so much more recently, the deception. Case in point, headlines. Over the last two or three days I have hit multiple Main Street articles because of a catchy headline to find that the headline itself was a flat out lie! That's how they get away with so much. They know so many of us just read the headline, not the whole article, therefore we have tons of Americans running around thinking they know facts that are in reality nothing more than misleading headlines.

We do live in a most disturbing time, my friend. God bless.

It is unbelievable such things still happen just for one's faith - especially since Jesus - the central figure in the Bible is also one of the prophets in Islam. I have been following this story for some time and signing petitions for the Pastor Abedini - I'm praying things are turned around for him and his family.

Psychicdog ~ Thank you for the read and the comment. It's sad, but believe it for it's growing in frequency around the world. I'm so glad to hear you signed for him. I did too. I wish millions upon million would. I will continue to pray for him and his family, and those like him as well. God bless you and happy hubbing.

Nell ~ Thank you for taking the time to read this and comment. You picked the perfect word to describe the entire affair, disgusting. It's a national disgrace. Of course, America has so many of those going on right now it's hard to know where to focus. God bless and happiest of hubbing.

Poet, I also gave this hub a thumbs up and awesome. It's worth keeping this hub square in front so people understand that Christians are being persecuted, harassed, and murdered. Leftists always try to minimize this and say that Christians dominate the entire world so they can't be harassed.

Regarding the likeness between the Satan actor and Obama, it was unintentionally funny and leftists should just get over it their outrage.

Cassie - Thank you very much for the read, the vote and the kind words. I don't understand how anyone with half a brain that can read doesn't see Christians are becoming increasingly targeted. It's not just the horrid conditions abroad in places like Iran, India, Afghanistan and more where Christians are stoned, beaten, raped and murdered for no reason other than they are Christians, it's the precursor things starting to pop up in America and Europe, too. Christian groups are seeing escalating harassment daily from Liberals coming after little girl cheerleaders to suing public places that put up Christmas trees. It's sickening. Ironic, the groups standing up typically screaming for equality and an end to discrimination surely are keeping their mouths shut on this one, for the most part. God bless you and happy hubbing.

This is such a distubing hub because it is so true. Now Christians get audited by the IRS more and that can be quite intimadating. This hub is so important and I hope many more people read what you have to say, as this type of behavior is a trend with Obmaa. Our country is in trouble. Rated up!!!!!!!

Pamela99 ~ Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. The systemic discrimination by the overreaching arms of our government is down right scary and reminiscent of Nazi Germany, to me. I must be a weak woman for I have to keep reminding myself that ultimately, it matters not. God takes care of his own. So many of our Christian brothers and sisters in Christ have died in his name over the centuries. It's going to get worse. But, as the book says, we know who wins in the end and it sure as Hell isn't the evil politicians. Please, excuse the language. I find this subject hard to even think about without getting angry at the cruelty, craziness and downright evilness of it all. God bless you! profile image 2 years ago from upstate, NY

I've heard now that there may be hope for this pastors return because the governments finally taking some action. Let's pray its not just smoke and mirrors.

The actions of our state department are nothing less than a disgrace and what to think about our president, well that a whole other story. The actions of our president have been so bizarre that its hard to believe he's not actively trying to wreck America.

I do pray this time the hope is not false and he is actually released. Several times already our government has made a show to the people suggesting they will come to his aid only to fall short when the time presented itself. Sad but certainly not surprising.

You're last sentence should be one on the lips of all Americans. I agree. Thanks bunches for the time to read and comment. God bless and happy hubbing.
