Confused Commander-In-Chief? Whose Behalf?

A Real Live BX Hero

Well, now that Obama has come out of the closet it should come as no surprise to anyone. Just ask Larry Sinclair. That's a whole different story. According to Obama his views on gay marriage have been "evolving." Isn't it ironic that the whole concept of same sex marriages are at the end of any evolutionary chain? During his outing he attributes his changing views to his Christian faith.

This is the same man who sat in the pews of one Jeremiah Wright and listened to him preaching diatribes about hate, envy and resentment. Of course as he is fond of telling anyone, "He didn't hear the messages." At this point I wonder what position Reverend Wright takes on same sex marriage. Maybe a reader along the way might be able to shed some light.

I won't bore you with his entire interview but here is an important part of what he said and the focus of this Hub. Listen closely at the end.

Maybe not too many caught it but the deal about our service members fighting on "his" behalf hit" a nerve. I retired after 23 years of service about the time this nation elected a lying, cheating, draft dodger by the name of William Jefferson Clinton. The realization of just how much moral decay had occurred over those last few decades came to me at that time. The people of this nation elected that man knowing only part of what he had been involved in and the waning days of his administration proved what I had known all along. Clinton was the one who instituted the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" doctrine that Obama administration turned onto its head. I can tell you from experience that "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" caused a loss of excellent leadership in the armed forces by that very act.

My specific stance is that what occurs in your bedroom is your business. Don't bring it into anyone's living room, place of business and definitely not the streets of this nation. I'm proud to be heterosexual but that doesn't mean I need to have lewd displays paraded around and shown on my television set. I find that abhorrent and a bit abnormal.

An Ommission Of A Word Becomes A Policy

I remember the oath of office quite well as I took it many times over the course of my long career. Obama is obviously confused about what that oath says. It says nothing about our service members fighting on "his behalf." He is the Commander-In-Chief but not a very respected one within the armed forces I am told. The military is apolitical and has more than a few regulations and restrictions about a member becoming politically involved, but every service person does have the right to their opinion. It is a microcosm of society as we know it with its own set of rules.

The people who serve this nation throughout all uniformed services aren't "fighting on his behalf." They are supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States of America. They are fighting to maintain the very freedoms that this administration seems intent on stifling. They swear no allegiance to a particular President no matter what his, or her, name is. Somehow it always appears that when Obama speaks it somehow becomes all about him. I've written previously about Obama's narcissistic personality disorder and it doesn't seem fitting that the President of this nation is a classic case.

Our fighting force isn't out there doing what they are told to do, when they are told to do it and how it needs to be done for Obama's personal benefit, nor on his behalf. He has never in his life walked that walk. If he had he might actually realize what those people are out there fighting for. Again, Barak Hussein Obama, it isn't all about you.

There Is Stupid Then There Is You

I can only imagine how many "face palms" military leaders around the world did when they heard him utter those words. I seem to assume that position every time he opens his mouth anymore. His constant pandering for votes amazes me.

If you listen to his entire interview you will see exactly what I am talking about. His "Christian values?" I've actually read the Bible several times and doubt he has ever read it. He seems to infer that Jesus Christ condoned homosexuality. That's a stretch to "love your brother and your sister." He could have saved the "on my behalf" statement because as a warrior I can tell you that not one of those people is doing their duty to God and their country because of him. They believe in things he has cast aside.

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

As Always,

The Frog Prince

Right on, Jim. I did catch that in the interview (on TV, before you wrote your Hub)--and no, my time in service wasn't spent "on behalf of LBJ", either.

So so true. I can tell you with absolute certainty - my husband, my son and my son-in-law are in NO WAY serving their country on Barry's "behalf." What a classless SLOB he is! And not too smart of a slob either.

Our military isn't and never will be 'blind' followers to anyone. There are many who would refuse to follow orders, even today, if they were 'commanded' to do anything against their own conscience. obummer has a real problem with his view of himself. Egotistic, self-centered, etc., is putting it extremely politely. He and his ego make me want to puke, every time I see his face. 'Nuff said.

Yeah, it's so easy to find a million things wrong with Obama - the question really is what is wrong with his supporters? How does someone who would never pass vetting at the FBI to become an FBI agent get to be President of the USA? Who are these people who can't see what a blatant LIAR he is ... or do but they trust him anyway? I'm totally baffled intellectually - it's like I fell asleep in 1965 while watching an episode of the Twilight Zone and woke up in 2009 in another world! I understand what is happening but I just can't believe it. Hopefully Obama will be gone after the election, but what do we do with these, for lack of better words, people who worship him?

Obama is a fruitcake, lock him up and throw the key away. We have him on a crazy plea. I know quite a few military people who hate him and can't wait until he gets out of office. They can't believe that this fool is their Commander in Chief.

Even Obama knows his statement about soldiers being out there "for him" is a lie (but I'm sure saying it makes him feel important). The Administration has already made statements that it considers returning soldiers "terror threats." The logic here of course is that Obama violates the Constitution so serially that he is afraid returning soldiers may view him as a tyrant (since we have an all-volunteer force, the military is likely weighted in favor of conservatives who take the Constitution seriously). So Obama's logic is that returning soldiers may be participants in a DOI inspired revolt. But to the extent this is true, Obama needs to look at himself and ask why this may be so. If Obama is right to have this fear, it's only because he himself is creating the conditions for such an uprising. Rather than setting up FEMA camps to warehouse TPM voters, soldiers, libertarians, etc., who might legally revolt per the terms of the DOI, he could eliminate the risk completely by simply obeying the Constitution, instead of trying to destroy it.

I'm sure since he supposedly ordered the hit on Bin Laden, he now features himself as the brave leader of the most powerful military in the world. The guy lives in his own world, and marches to a different tune than most of us.

Stu - I'll never forget that he threatened to not pay the military in order to try to get his own way, Loyalty is a two way street my friend.

OP - US Navy Seal Team 6 did a splendid job. Obama did nothing but sit in a chair with his mouth gaping open. It wasn't his skin in the game at the time. He isn't good enough to shine their boots.

The Frog

Stu 4 years ago

OP - Actually, Seal Team Six ordered the hit. Obama bravely followed the command and took out Bin Laden himself (he kicked the door open, and hit him in the eyeball with a Titleist using 2-wood). Later this month, Obama is conferring, umm, Obama, with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Kind of brings a tear of pride to a glass eye.

I still see the resemblance to Don Quixote here... another imaginary kingdom conquered. His choice has split the nation and that's the whole purpose of his coming out.

Stu 4 years ago

Frog,

I remember the threat not to pay the military. It really shows where Obama's head is at. He was unwilling to cut anything out of the civil Administration or entitlements. So to even arrive at the farce the government called a "budget agreement," he had to cut somewhere or raise taxes. So he took it out on the military, knowing it wouldn't cost him votes, because most soldiers wouldn't have voted for him anyway. In a way, Obama ultimately did take it out on the military, because the budget agreement was only in terms of aggregate spending, with specific cuts to be determined by a deadline. The deadline came and passed, with no specifics agreed to. Then the sequester kicked in, and hundreds of billions of dollars were cut from the military. Also, many temporary tax cuts will expire on 12/31/12, leading to a big jump in federal income taxes next year unless Congress and the President act to stop it. These hikes will primarily hit the middle class, not the lower income people that form Obama's core voting base. Essentially, Obama is using GOP voters as financial pawns to maneuver through the budget minefield without alienating his own voting and funding base.

I totally missed that and the brave men and women defending the country have to be appalled at that statement. The other piece of his "evolution" is that in his coming out he changed nothing really, stating that it should be up to the states to decide. So once again he's for something and not fighting for it.

Chickens have just been declared an endangered species, so I'm sad to say that I'm legally obliged to pass. The EPA has just determined that Obama is the only one left.

Nine years of my life was spent in uniform in service to this country. Not in service to a President, not a Governor not any politician. It was for my country and the people of this nation that I fought. Both my sons called me today and we talked for some time about this. We agreed it's narcissism run ramped. It just shows how egomaniacal this guy really is. I have said time and time again, he is a pathological narcissist and a pathological liar. Good article Jim, thanks.

Frog: Wright seems to avoid the subject - all I find is Wright said in a 90s-era sermon:

"I refuse to limit my God, to lock God into my cultural understandings because culture is fickle. And culture is often wrong. Culture was wrong about slavery. Culture was wrong about women. Culture was wrong about Africans and Indians, and culture was wrong about Christ. I have been the pariah among many of my clergy colleagues who somehow see me as defective or not quite saved because I won't join them in their homophobic gay bashing and misquoting of scripture."

Gay marriage is another insane discussion. Why do gays want to annex marriage and change it's definition, defined as long as humans have existed as union of one man and one woman (well maybe several women too, but always heterosexual)? Gays should leave it alone and since "Gay Marriage" is their own new creation they should name it separate from hetero-marriage and create their own institution of homo-marriage or "Homarriage" with same benefits for gays as heterosexual marriages and everyone would be happy!

I sit here amazed that you can, somehow, put into print the very feelings of about 80% of our country. I am honored to be your friend. Thank you for 23 years of service to our great nation.

I got out just months after returning from Southeast Asia in '67. I wouldn't take for my experiences as a veteran.

I am just curious. Are there others out there that get a painful knot in their stomach when they hear people say, "Oh yes, he will get a second term. His work is not finished yet". I do. I am also ashamed of the evil thoughts I allow myself to entertain when I hear that.

Thanks again for a wealth of truth and enlightenment. Where do I send money for your campaign?

Frog, I had a conversation last week with my uncle, who like me spent a quarter century living outside of the US (he was a missionary in Argentina) and he thinks President Obama is panicking right now. As in, Slick Willy recently urged Hillary to quit her State Department job and run for president, calling President Obama an "amateur" (and everyone knows Bill is a professional, or maybe not since he merely got lucky in 1992 - or maybe the Perot glitch was *arranged* - who knows?) [1992 flashback: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_preside...]. Bottom line is that if you couple Bill's opinion with President Obama's recent complete siding with homosexuals, which in my mind would normally be political suicide in an election year, it might be signalling that he's reaching for more funding, and since I believe he already has more campaign money than Romney, I agree with my uncle: He's panicking.

Have you heard the latest truly disgraceful behavior of our Narcissist-in-Chief? Obama drops his name into the other official presidential biographies on the White House website!!!

They have been updated to inject President Obama into history.

Here are a few examples:

* On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

* In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has “an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected.” He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948. Today the Obama administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.

* President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare signed (sic) into law in 1965—providing millions of elderly healthcare stability. President Obama’s historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the “donut hole.”

* On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Today the Obama administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.

* In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.

In the most egregious example, noted by the Heritage Foundation's Rory Cooper, the official Ronald Reagan biography is appended with the note: "In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffet Rule." (Over at Commentary, Seth Mandel has a roundup of more examples.) Put aside the fact that what Reagan was proposing in 1985 had nothing to do with the Buffett Rule. Obama should not vandalize his predecessors' biographies to promote his own agenda.

I imagine Bill Clinton will be especially receptive to Obama’s habit of shoehorning himself into the limelight previously occupied by others. As you can see, the bullet points make clear that while each president has done something historic or notable, Obama is carrying forward every one of those accomplishments since Coolidge.

No wonder he always seems so proud of himself.

Not that it will change the world, but I am thinking seriously about leaving Hub Pages for good. I had yet another hub I had to delete due to alleged Hub Page violations. This hub was in regards to the number of elected representatives who have been found guilty of criminal offenses. The reason for this violation was multiple links to the same website. What I did was include links to the actual paragraph citing the crimes by each and every elected representative listed on the website. Many of these were crimes that you and I would have gone to jail for if we were found guilty. Being as this was not my first run in with the Hub Police, I took the easy way out and just deleted the hub. I would be reasonably sure that if I don't pull the plug myself this comment will take care of the problem for me. I guess free speech is not still one of our rights?

tsadjatko profile image

Wait a minute - it was my understanding that kind of violation, multiple links is OK as long as they are not all to a site you are promoting. If you are just linking sighting information I think you can ignore the warning. Am I wrong? because I have such and they haven't unpublished the hub.

It has become quite obvious the Moderators of Hub Pages lean far to the left. I have tried like heck to keep all of my hubs close to the middle, even though I lean slightly to the right. The last one they protested was supposedly for copied content, but they could not tell me what was copied? It seemed strange to me that they could find supposedly copied content, but couldn't tell me what it was? I appreciate your support but will most likely not be writing anymore hubs. I will still read and comment on those hubs I find worthy of comment, like this one.
