Davis, the boy with the big heart- Helps feed homeless at Perspectives Inc
One of my fantastic guest chefs, Tami Cabrera, takes her little boy Davis to dine at a restaurant today to help out our cause at Perspectives inc, where I am blessed to be a director. We have a fundraiser going on today only till four o'clock.
Three course meal serving burgers, fries and dessert for only ten dollars. Help a cause and fill up on great food at Burger Jones in Minneapolis, MN.
Many of us parents believe highly in teaching our kids and youth about giving back. Here in MN this mom who is a guest chef at my place of work gives back. It is a cycle, one that we as parents can choose to teach. Tami brought her boy Davis to Burger Jones to dine for hunger. That is where the teaching starts, but it does not have to end here.
Davis eats one of his favorite meals and his mom teaches him how that will impact homeless kids at Perspectives Inc. I think we need to be more conscious of how we teach kids about community and how they at a young age can know the value of giving back.
This mom is doing it right. She volunteers at my place of work as a guest chef. She teaches our at-risk kids how to cook. This skill is invaluable to a child. Most at risk kids would not otherwise have the opportunity to cook with chefs in the city such as Tami Cabrera. She owns Muddy Paws in St. Louis Park. She is a giver and people like Tami, set the standard of volunteerism. Way to go Tami. http://www.muddypawscheesecake.com/
Minnesota is one of the top three cities of high volunteerism. I am proud of that fact. We need more Tami's in the world.
Please think about your city and what passions you have in your life. Could you volunteer in an area that gives you hope for the world that would make our world a better place? Maybe or maybe not, but at least think about volunteerism and what an impact that makes on so many lives.
