God's Authority and Climatology

What in the world is really going on?

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together - and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the vipers nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:6 - 9.

Sound too good to be true? Well for those of us who believe in the infallible Word of God, it's a day we look forward to. For those who are skeptical, perhaps this will be food for thought, something to contemplate.

My focus regarding this hub has done a "180"....initially my intention was to cite those passages to support my belief that in heaven, we will encounter animals....Jesus is to return mounted on a white horse.. Biblical references to animals give me assurance there will come a day when I will see many beloved creatures - not all being human or angelic - in heaven.

Now back to my change of direction....the above referenced passages are in relation to Christ's second coming and his reign over the earth, the result being peace and tranquility. This age will unquestionably be equated with experiencing heaven on earth (which in many aspects, we can experience that today...but that's another hub altogether....Bill Johnson has written an outstanding book "When Heaven Invades Earth" if any are interested however). Fear will no longer exist.

Believers should look to these passages and recognize nature will be in balance and harmony. Perhaps those who are passionate about "global warming," in contrast to "climate change" unknowingly are attempting to control and alter something that is part of God's plan. Being that we are not God, this is not possible. Of course I'm not trying to discourage anyone from making the world we currently live in a better place. I just hope efforts aren't misguided.

I am an 'ex' aspiring environmentalist. In the early to mid 90's, I was in pursuit of a college major along those lines...(that was BC or 'before children'... as well as the 'BC' most associate with that acronym). Today my beliefs are more aligned w/climate change as I know this has occurred throughout history. Attempts have been made to explain 'cause and effect' regarding our climate yet the majority is theory and speculation rather than fact. What wiped out the dinosaurs? Was it an asteroid? The Great Flood? Climate change? Did a natural disaster happen, to include something foreign entering our galaxy, which brought about climate change? What came first, the chicken or the egg? How much does it really matter?

Here in Washington State, this past winter (and Spring!) could not possibly contribute any valuable support to those claiming what's currently happening with natural disasters and the melting of polar icecaps is associated with global warming. I encourage you to check out the utube video I'm including as I find it to be very balanced. The point which is made about how much money is thrown into (wasted?) researching something we really have little control over should not only be disappointing to some people - especially those of faith, but also a bit disturbing in the context of good stewardship and the domino effect that every move we make (or don't) has.

I've been reading a lot lately in Isaiah, 1 & 2 Chronicles about God's glory and although I've always thought of His glory as being about His love and Beauty, it does include His Power...we sure are seeing some serious demonstrations of that in the weather we've been experiencing and as I believe you refer to, we are experiencing the birth pains.

Thanks for reading and commenting Dennithompson and yes indeed, may He not only be w/ everyone, may people turn to and put their hope, trust, and faith in Him.

Hello

today people find it really difficult to believe GOD and all such things and live the satans way and yes what we see as outcome are all the calamities and disasters. Yes these are all signs of GOD but no one is ready to accept it. Each and every thing is happening as written in the Book of REVELATION in the bible. Each and every day we see and hear new things that we have never before like the tsunami... Its high tiem for every one to repent and to live the way of GOD. our GOD is definetly a loving GOD and surely he will save us....

may GOD be with everyone

Hi Ty -

Thanks for visiting, the comment and I'm glad you found the information useful. I do pray for many things and unity is definitely one of them!

I look forward to reading the hub you are working on...are you doing it right on the hubpages site or are you doing it on Word or some other program? If you write it on Word and are interested in having someone proof/help with editing, I'm happy to do that. I'm sure there are lots of other people in BC (or wherever you are!) but I'm willing to help in anyway I can all the same.  I'm sure you already know this but you could email it as an attachment.

Have a blessed Independence Day celebration and enjoy the long weekend!

Hi Christine! Good work and very informative lesson for me. I did not know much about global warming before and feel confident with this information. I really like how in the video that many ideas and opinions by scientists are blown way out of proportion by the media & schools. From what I understand about evolution are schools have been teaching this as fact for years, yet so many scientists know that it's not fact only theory. Humanism is doing much damage in this world today. About Isaiah 11:6-9 I look forward to the day when peace will reside with all creatures just as it was before sin entered the world. You also mentioned about heaven on earth in a future hub, I am confident that we will see heaven on earth when the church is unified in spirit and truth. I don't think Christ is returning to a dysfunctional and divided church. Anyhow Christine, I know you are very wise in your understanding. All I ask is for you to say a prayer regarding this issue. Also, I have been working on a hub but am not an experienced writer yet and need time… Bye for now, Ty

Hi Jreuter! No haven't been watching the weather channel but I think Gore getting a Nobel Peace Prize for his deal is a joke!

Thanks for stopping by and for the comment! Have a great 4th!

Have you been keeping up with the latest news on the weather channel founder John coleman? He wants to sue Al Gore for misleading the public on the causes of global warming. The more I read on this issue, the more I'm beginning to agree with that action, and this hub is a step in the right direction. Nice job.

The wolf and the lamb, the leopard and the goat, their infants and friends may all very well have the chance to lie down with eachother in peace, if us humans don't get our act together. I don't know much about climate change ... I do know you're a loving person who cares and wants to make the world a better place. Thumbs up HUB for that. - David
