Down The Dusty Road

Down The Dusty Road

Somewhere in Arizona,

Under a black or azure sky,

Cactus wrens and coyotes mourn,

And a few dogs cry.

What he once fought for,

He saw beginning to fail.

He saw the design decline.

He had to hit the Dusty trail.

He walked point, took fire,

And had his confirms in the hunt.

He was a Marine to his end,

And spoke fluid grunt.

AK47s crackled.

Choppers fluttered from his past.

Firefights lit up his nights,

Now Dusty has seen his last.

Taller than Shane and big John Wayne,

And had a lot more grit.

He was the good, bad, and the ugly,

And could make most cowboys split.

He was a man of merit,

Excellence, the highest caliber.

You might call him Dusty,

Or call him 50 Caliber.

Let’s raise a glass,

To the dust he rode,

And this mountain of a man,

Down the Dusty Road.

He was a loner in Arizona.

He walked the Leatherneck’s Code.

He knew the Yahweh way.

He hit the Dusty Road.

Up and beautiful votes Micky in honor of our HubPage friend Dusty. He left big tracks in not only the Arizona dirt but also around the world when he left this life. "Cactus wrens and coyotes mourn, And a few dogs cry." Hopefully his beloved pets are being well cared for in his absence. We should all be as kind hearted as he was. The world would be a better place. Hope you are doing well and had a nice Thanksgiving.
