Florida’s Political Follies
The choices for representation in Florida are exceptionally ugly this year. It isn’t pretty here in any year especially since all of our leaders have more ambition for themselves then for the people who they serve. This explains how Jeb was governor for so long as he is the perfect model of typical Florida leader who is completely ego-centric. Washington keeps recycling the same garbage members of Congress and expecting different results pr perhaps Washington D.C. is content with the same results? It is a sad commentary on the limited imagination of our leaders and the exceptionally limited possibilities for our people. These individuals have served in office and anyone who has served in office is, at least in my book, an incumbent. Fresh people with fresh ideas is what Washington desperately needs right now. And while all of the incumbents seeking office have already served, are from different parties, they are also all good friends. So I would dare suggest who to vote for but why I wouldn’t vote for these three stooges of Florida politics.
Bill Nelson (D-Florida)
Actually he has worked his way up into this offender category. He never represents anyone but his own interests. He wrangled a White House job from Barack Obama for his daughter who is head of the Peace Corp. Not to mention he failed to oversee the war in neither Afghanistan nor vote against the war in Iraq. Congresses primary duty during a war is oversight. Nelson drank the Kool Aid and voted for everything. Nelson is more of a follower then a leader. He also has a fat retirement from the House of Representative and now has a fat salary from the Senate which he gave himself a 3% raise during
the debt ceiling collapse? He is almost never in Florida and I have never personally met him. His offices are exceptionally low on constituent services. Let’s not forget the Abu Graib scandal in which Bill Nelson said there was no torture going on as he sat on the Arms Service Committee. Two fat retirements and securing you daughter a job on the White House is enough welfare for anyone human being in this country. I also remember him with a gas mask after 9/11 standing for a group photo when my family had none so no to this political folly of Florida.
Bill Nelson's Truths
- Bill Nelson's (FL-D) Truths
An historical perspective on Bill Nelson's service to Floridainas and his political position while representing Floridians including his position on Torture, intecourse with the USA military and his service to his constituents.
Dave Weldon
Dave Weldon (R-Florida)
This one I have met. Wow is he a liar. I have letters from him promising all kinds of things. Things I might add Representative Weldon promised and shook my hand on. This guy is the ultimate liar. But worse then that is he ran on term limits claiming he believed in them and then sat in Congress for many terms beyond what normal Congressmen serve. To boot Dave Weldon was on appropriations for the war. Yes, that is right all of this national debt is a direct result of the actions by Dave Weldon. So your low standard of living right now is courteous of the incumbent “term limit” Dave Weldon who is a millionaire now. He is also exceptionally low on constituent services but big on personal ambition for himself. Representative Weldon refused to tax people like himself to pay for the wars he waged in the Middle East. He also refused to tax his buddy Bill Nelson. But he was more then willing to cut funding to domestic projects in the USA like education and healthcare. And goodness knows as a doctor Dave Weldon wants to eliminate malpractice all together and privatize social security because the stock market has been such a safe place to invest social security. All of these guys are in politics for themselves and not to serve their constituents at all. This fool also had a gas mask and stood for a group photo in DC when my family had none. So I am not voting to give Florida’s number 2 political folly Dave Weldon.
Connie Mack
Connie Mack (R-Florida)
While I have certified mail on all of these individuals Connie Mack was part of the pre-war planning in Florida and in a letter specifically sight propaganda funding at taxpayer expense Mr. Mack did not respond. He did not investigate. For me as a Floridian I don’t think we should have to pay for propaganda. I think the government should pool from their extraordinary wealth and pay for their own propaganda that keeps them in power. Did Jim Jones charge for the poisonous Kool-Aid? Yet that is exactly what was happening prior to 9/11. Connie Mack is also exceptionally wealthy and Dave Weldon made certain he didn’t have to pay taxes either for the war. Connie Mack pushed the abominable disastrous “No Child Left Behind” which was based upon falsified data. You would have thought Connie and his allies Nelson and Weldon would have put their own pesos on the line for this war in the Middle East. You would have also thought that would have made certain Florida reaped financial rewards of the big Oil industry and all of the huge defense contracts which were awarded due to the war in the Middle East and yet Florida has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country? Now why would we higher anyone who was apart of this disastrous war which only serves to prolong tyranny and empower those who only follow. So I will not vote for Florida folly number 3 Connie Mack.
In Summary
Floridians are plagued with the knowledge that no matter which party they vote for they are dealing with representatives who are double hatted and have more then one position in government. Porter Goss was a politician until it became known he was to be appointed to the head of the CIA. We have a lot of that in Florida and Floridians are well aware. They are never given good choices for representatives but have to pick the least awful candidate. I would never be so bold as to suggest who you vote for. That is your vote and your decision but I personally will not vote for anyone who has been in politics during this war of leading up into it. What I am suggesting is that everyone who has no put anything on the line in a position of leadership before and during this war feel our pain. I am suggesting that Florida’s political folly’s Bill Nelson, Dave Weldon and Connie Mack end their supposed lives in public service and we get some real representation in Florida whose sole purpose is to only represent the people.
