Froggy Has Hostages

A Bank

This morning started unlike any other morning in my life. As I type this hub tonight, it is unlike any other evening in my life.

On this day I held eleven people hostage in a bank. You wonder how, if I did this, am I writing this hub now? How is Froggy not in jail or dead?

First, I must explain the motivation behind taking bank employees and customers hostage.

I hit the edge. I have explained our plight to so many people and Justice For Jonathan has not come. I have called the Governor on down within our government here in Missouri and I don't think they give a crap that my 23 month old Grandson was murdered. I wondered,"who can help me?"; if I took hostages in a bank, the F.B.I. would come as well as the national media.

I will let you know now, the F.B.I. didn't come, nor any media of any kind. I was holed up with 11 hostages, but they are all fine now and I am home with my wife and family.

Did I get lucky or what?

Not really, scroll down and find out the whole story.

Midwest Police Consultants, L.L.C.

Some time back, I was in contact with a very sweet, caring woman. She saw what I was facing and feeling in seeking justice.

Deborah McMahon really, truly gave a crap. I could tell. You see, I have always had this ability to read a "fakeness" in people and Deb didn't show that at all. She explained to me that the company she is with trains law enforcement, military and others in crisis intervention. Their web site is linked at the right. They also work with many other affiliate agencies and their links are there too.

An Act

The whole deal with this hostage situation was an act; but not really.

The scenario called for a man that is nicknamed Froggy that lost his grandson to a murder with nothing ever done about it. Froggy enters a bank with a shotgun to get the F.B.I. and national media to listen to him.

Law enforcement agents were located in another room and through phone conversations had to

  1. Find out who Froggy was (real name and identity)
  2. Try to save both Froggy and the hostages
  3. Come to a suitable conclusion to pass this course.

It was a very long and brutal 6 hours. I was reminded of old feelings and new ones too. I was able to use words that I normally wouldn't with officers of the law. I really cannot describe the feelings I had then, or now.

I must say that there were "cops" from all different areas. They were from the Armed forces, small towns, and big cities. There were tears being shed on both sides of that phone today and I was overjoyed to hear that the option of just "shooting" Froggy was never considered an option.

These officers put their brains in action and discovered my pages here and also the special site I made just for Jonathan. The video probably moved them too!

A Step Forward

I must say, the officers did a good job.

I also feel we are making steps forward. I really wish that there would have been some Lebanon and Laclede county officers involved, but if what I was involved in today helps anyone, the stress and pain I felt today was all worth it.

Yea, I gave in. They didn't have anyone shot, nor did I go to jail (Thank God). The best thing though: There are "cops" out there now who know how to do it better.

If your city, county, church or business needs this kind of training, be sure and contact one of the links. They are very well known and I would recommend Deb and her entourage at any time. You never know, maybe I will even act in the scenario played in your class.

Gotcha

For those of you that thought Froggy finally went over that edge, sorry, not this time.

Thanks Deborah McMahon and all others for the therapy I received today and just to know that there are really some "cops" who do care!

Froggy, I was one of the guys across the hall from you for six hours. You have no idea the impact you made today. That group you helped train was made up of Army and Air Force, Police Officers from several jurisdictions, School Resource Officers, Special Agents, Chaplains, and Instructors. Only Jesus could have taught you that kind of grace and forgiveness. Thank you for the gift you gave us today. I don't know if I could have done it. No words could ever express how sorry I am for what you've been through, or how thankful I am for your willingness to positively effect the LE community. What you did today was nothing short of miraculous. Thank you.

B.C.--you have no idea what your words mean to me. Thank you friend.

I pray that you are never put in the position that you were in today, but in the same sentence I must say that if it would happen that you are there, because of how you handled yourself today.

God bless you!

I am proud "Froggy" that you did this. I know it had to be emotional for you. It is good that you have the feeling that if it helps the law enforcement to do their job, it is all worth it. I agree with BC who said "only Jesus could have taught you that kind of grace and foregiveness". This is a awesome blog; you certainly have a way of expressing yourself.

God be with you!!

Hello Froggy,

I have followed your story for some time now. Both on youtube and here on hubpages. I am very sorry that your grandson passed away so young. And I am angry as well that with so many reports that child services dropped the ball so bad. It seems these days you have to have the child say it on tape and a video tape of them being abused for child services to step up and do something. It's sad that they take children away from some parents for something stupid and they don't do enough to protect the children who truly need their help. I was one of the children they screwed up with. A kid at school I sent home for trying to start a fire when he came over told the school therapist that myself (13 at the time) and my 10 year old brother were grabbing 40 year old men off the street, dragging them up to our 3rd floor apartment. And that we were tying them to our dad's bed and doing sexual things. It took a month of us placed at our grandparents and going to children's court for them to drop the charges and let us come home. Thank god I was able to get a call out to our grandparents because they wanted to put us in foster care. They really dropped the ball. Anyone with a brain can tell a report like that was not true. The school therapist was fired and her licence taken, but that doesn't repair the month we were not able to sleep in our own beds along with everything else going on at the time with the courts. And yet there are children being beatten every day and can't get help. But yet on a stupid report, we can get taken out of the home for a month. Something is seriously wrong with the child protecton system. I feel for you froggy, and I hope your grandson get's justice for what happened. **hugs**

-Stanley
