Harlotte is at the Stove

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, February 8, 2016. Our creative friend, Spider Harlotte, is preparing Breakfast Pizza for all the Poppers. Please accept Harlotte's invitation and join us for a tasty meal and a spirited discussion about bringing The Gong Show to politics and beyond. We will be serving traditional pizza as well for those among us who like to shake things up. We hope to see you soon.

That's A Lie!

Thank you all for joining me this morning. This seemingly endless and painful season of pre-election antics is starting to wear thin. Tell me, just how many lies can Hillary spin without a soul pointing out the lies? I am not talking about the big reveal that Fox news offers the public after the fact. I am talking about an instant truth barometer that stops the liar in his or her tracks on the spot and in the moment. Just imagine how enlightening such a thing would be. The liar lies, the fact-checkers go to work and within seconds, the lie is exposed and the liar is caught. It's efficient and it is necessary. The political landscape would change in immeasurable ways. If people, and I mean everyone, were held accountable for the babble that spouts from their mouths, they most certainly would think before speaking. Some of the liars would probably be forced to stop speaking entirely. The mere thought of that sends waves of pleasure down my spine.

The Impact of the Truth

Imagine the consequences of instant truth detecting. We would have far fewer television commercials promising ridiculous things about products that are a waste of time and money. Let the commercial air and let it be subjected to the fact-checkers. Just knowing that a product and the spiel associated with the product would be exposed if it were a fraud, would probably prevent a lot of idiotic things from reaching the market. I might actually be able to bear listening to a commercial if I thought it had been and will be vetted for accuracy. If Hillary had to face the fact-checkers there is no question that it would be necessary to get the hook and haul her off the stage. I would pay big bucks to witness that take place. I am picking on Hillary Clinton for a reason. She is the consummate liar. Hillary, is not alone in the lying department. She is right up there with Barack Obama and every single person associated with his administration. She is also right up there with plenty of Republicans who learned early on that lies have a way of surviving the truth, especially when the truth comes later and is buried on page 12 of a 13 page paper.

The Truth and Nothing But...

The ascendency of the truth to a place of honor would also clean up a lot of annoying things outside of the political forum. School Board meetings would take an entirely different path if those speaking knew that they would be held accountable for their lies or misrepresentations right there and then. I have personally witnessed this type of thing, because I was the fact-checker and truth teller. It was great fun and the powers that presided over the meeting were squirming like worms ready for the hook. Let's send the liars packing. Let's hold the candidates, the teachers, the principals, the CEOs, the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker to a higher standard. When we encounter the liar and we have proof of the lie, let's stick it to them, hit the gong and get the hook!

Oh, what a tangled web we weave

When first we practice to deceive!
