Stanart Pic Fails to Impress Son

Perhaps this is another reason to watch your kids on Facebook:

A poorly cropped photo of Stan Stanart, Republican candidate for Harris County clerk, failed to gain the approval of even his son recently after posting the image to the social network.

Stanart, who posted the image to Facebook on September 28, has yield a single comment from adult son Matthew, who was obviously not a fan:

One might guess a down ballot candidate cannot get the same sort of photographic help as a congressional or gubernatorial candidate, leaving Stanart to use Photoshop, or in this case, more likely Paint.

Stanart, who also serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the Harris County Republican Party, appears in a similar poorly cropped image on the party's website.

If Stanart's images and website are any indication, the prevailing argument that Republicans are not as tech savvy as Democrats remains true.

Democrat Ann Harris Bennett's website, by comparison, is more modern in its approach, and similar to many sites offered by Democratic candidates in post-Obama election cycles.

Green Party candidate Don Cook doesn't have a website, but the state party uses Drupal, and at least appears more organized.

According to Stanart's website, "Stan has attended and served as a Delegate to every Republican Senatorial and State Convention since 1988," served as president of the Cherry Tree Republicans in the Cypress Creek/Champions area from 2005-2007.

Stanart also served as executive director of CLOUT (Citizens Lowering Our Unfair Taxes), a group formed by KSEV 700 AM Radio personalities Ed Hendee and State Sen. Dan Patrick (R-7).

No guess as to Matthew Stanart's political affiliation, which is listed on Facebook as "people be crazy."
