Hezbollah carries out terrorist Attack in New Delhi
New Delhi is no Longer Safe
The game of rivalry and terrorism has over taken the Indian nation and perhaps has caught the Indian security agencies napping. On 13 Feb 2012 a car (Toyota Innova) carrying the wife of an Israeli diplomat who was returning after dropping her children at School was attacked. The Israeli diplomats car was tracked by a red colored motorcycle which came close a stuck ma magnetic device to the rear of the car. Apprehending trouble, the driver of the car stopped the car. In no time the device which was a magnetic bomb exploded and the 42 year old diplomat’s wife received severe injuries. Presently she is being treated at Ganga Ram hospital at Delhi.
This attack appears to be the handiwork of Hezbollah and as Israel claims Iran as well. This is a dangerous portend for India. As these groups like Hezbollah have a seam less integration with the Muslim insurgent groups in Kashmir and the Lashkar-e -Taiba and other groups operating from Pakistan. It is only a matter of time before these groups try the same tactics on Indian VIP’s as well.
Thus India cannot afford to look the other way though India has friendly relations with Iran, which supplies 20% of India’s oil needs. Israel says it has definite information that the bomb attack had the backing of Iran. India cannot be smug about it as in 1965; Iran had sided with Pakistan in the war against India.
Terrorism is now taking new shapes and anything can be expected in future. The sad part is that the terrorist organization targeted a woman, a wife of a diplomat. This just about shows the inhuman nature of Hezbollah. India will do well to tighten its security and ensure that the perpetuators of this carnage are brought to book.
